Connecting an Alpine CHA-S634 6-disc MP3 changer to the NSX stock head unit and mounting the changer using the OEM CD changer bracket.

Notes: Since the NSX head unit was not designed as an MP3 changer controller, the MP3 discs just act like really big CDs. All the buttons work the same way they did for a normal CD changer. The first track is displayed as [01] on the head unit, the 99th track is displayed as [99], the 100th track is [01], then 198th is [99], the 200th is [02], etc. You determine track order when you burn the MP3 files to CD. Of course the S634 also plays regular CDs.

You Will Need

Instructions
1. Remove the screw that has the arrow pointing at it. This will allow the bracket to fold all the way down. IMPORTANT NOTE: Save all the parts from the factory setup. You will reuse them!
2. Remove the four screws holding the bracket to the car.

3. Once you have removed the bracket you will need to make the front factory mounting hole larger with a 3/8 drill bit. Then use the 3/8 bit to drill a new hole for the rear mounting bolt. After you have drilled the factory bracket, bolt it back to the car.
4. Adjust the CD changer. Normally the changer is set up to run horizontally. You will need to set it up to run vertically. First remove the caps on the ends of the changer. Make the change then put the cap back on. First photo shows the cap in place.

5. Use the brackets supplied with the Alpine cd changer. The bracket on the right will need to be reversed so it looks just like the one in the picture.

6. You will now use the factory bolts that were used to hold on the factory CD changer.
7. Connect the changer using the factory bolts. The only difference from factory is the right rear bolt. I just placed the clip under the bracket and still used the factory bolt.

8. Set the switch inside the door from 1 to 2.
9. Connect the ACUALP adapter to the factory CD changer cable.

10. Connect the Alpine KCA-130B adapter to the Peripheral adapter
11. Connect the KCA-130B adapter to the cable supplied with the Alpine changer.

12. Stuff all the cables behind the carpet.
13. Plug the cable into the changer. Don't forget to put the bolt back into the side of the bracket that you removed in the beginning.
