Important Notes The instructions contained in this installation guide are general guidelines which apply for the installation of the MobileHub in an automobile. However, due to the wide variety of car types and models available on the market, this guide cannot consider the individual technical requirements relevant for any particular automobile. The information set out here serves solely as a general overview. The MobileHub may only be installed by a qualified service technician using the approved original Nokia components supplied in the kit. Please note that non-observance of this requirement will result in loss of warranty. The MUTE cable must not be connected if the MobileHub is used with the CDA-7998R. Take care not to cause damage to electrical cables, fuel or brake lines, or safety equipment during installation work. Make sure not to impact the steering or braking systems or other key systems essential for proper operation of the car when installing car kit components. Check to make sure that deployment of the airbag is not blocked or impaired in any way. RF signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded electronic systems in motor vehicles (e.g. electronic fuel injection systems, electronic anti-skid (anti-lock) braking systems, electronic speed control systems, airbag systems. However, should you note a fault or change in the operation of such a system, contact your car dealer. The MobileHub may only be used at an operating voltage of 12V with the minus pole earthed. Please read the basic safety guidelines set out below before beginning any installation work. CAUTION Disconnect the car battery before beginning with the installation work and make sure that it cannot be reconnected inadvertently. Do not smoke when working on the car. Make sure that there is no source of fire or flame nearby.
In order to comply with RF exposure requirements for mobile transmitting devices, a minimum distance of 20 cm must be maintained between the antenna and all persons. Mounting Instructions 1 Advanced active car holder MCC-1 Should you wish to operate your Nokia mobile phone using the phone's key pad, position the active swivel holder so that the phone display is clearly visible and the keys easy to reach from the driver's seat. Connect the wires to the MobileHub as depicted in the illustration. 2 Mounting plate MKU-1 Use the screws supplied in the KHH-S9 kit and the MKU-1 mounting plate to fix the mobile phone holder in the car interior. Select a suitable location on the dashboard or console, making sure that the unit does not impair the driver when operating the vehicle. 3 MobileHub for Nokia Handsets CXA-B200NK Use the screws supplied to mount the MobileHub in a suitable location which will allow the cables to be connected at the sides of the device.
4 Hands-free microphone HFM-15 Mount the hands-free microphone approx. 30 cm from the driver's head and position it so that it points towards the driver's mouth. Experience has shown that the best locations are near the rearview mirror or to the left of the sun visor. Make sure to keep the microphone at least 1 m away from the radio loudspeakers to avoid feedback. Take care to mount the microphone so that it is not exposed to air streams from the ventilators. Do not lay the microphone cable in the heating, ventilation, or AC system. Use the adhesive tape supplied to fix the microphone as it prevents noise from the car body being transmitted into the interior. You will hear the person you are talking to on your mobile phone over the Alpine car radio loudspeakers. When you accept an incoming call or an outgoing call is connected, the car radio automatically mutes the audio source (music) and the call is switched over to the loudspeakers. 5 GSM Antenna (not included in the scope of supply) Your MobileHub is designed to be connected to an external GSM antenna. However, if your car is equipped with a combination radio/GSM antenna with a frequency separating filter, this may be used instead.

6 Ai-Net cable The Ai-Net cable supplied with your Nokia MobileHub will allow you to connect the MobileHub to any device which supports Ai-Net (see the Technical Requirements). 7 System cable SC-6 The system cable links the MobileHub with your car's electronics system and with the Alpine car radio system. See the wiring diagram for exact instructions. Please make sure that the PARK cable is connected to the emergency brake contact of you will not be able to utilize the entire range of features available. (Some features may only be accessed when the car is parked and the emergency brake is on.) Wiring The wiring diagram below shows the function of each of the cables provided. When laying the cables, take care to position them so that they are located as far as possible from the electronics systems installed in your car in order to avoid electromagnetic interference. Make sure that cables are not subjected to mechanical wear and tear (e.g. not laid under car seats or over sharp edges).
Function Test After your Nokia MobileHub has been installed, it needs to be checked to insure that it is working properly. When testing the function of the kit, also check that it in no way impairs the driver during operation of the vehicle. Operation With the MobileHub, you can choose to operate your Nokia mobile phone using the phone's key pad or over the Alpine car radio or navigation system. All phone calls made while the mobile phone is in its holder will only run over the hands-free microphone with voice output over the car radio loudspeakers. For information on the operation of your mobile phone, please refer to the Nokia User's Guide supplied with the phone. To operate your mobile phone over the Alpine car radio, refer to the Alpine User's Guide or follow the instructions shown on the car radio or navigation system display.
