"Im angry that this blue-ray player doesnt have slow motion. My 30 dollar dvd player does. Im going to take it back. "Buy the 550 over the 350. You will get the memory card and all the updates pre-loaded. For me it was worth the hassle.

I bought this player to stream netflix in additional to play blueray discs. For netflix it seems to be dumbed down, i.e. I have a Sony surround sound, a regular Sony DVD player. I just got a newLED tv and a Blue-Ray player by a competitor as a gift.

I purchased this Blu-ray player 14 months ago...  Quiet, crisp picture, small size Terrible quality in workmanship, problems with software updates

This player does not play anything except blu ray disks and store bought movie dvds. It does not play dvds you make on pc from your video camera. The BDP-S350 outputs excellent quality pictures. It up-converts standard definition (SD) video to High Definition (HD) to the maximum 1080p format.
TootSweet 6:02pm on Sunday, August 1st, 2010
Do not buy it! Save your money and buy a BD player that honors its brand. Fine while it lasted I had no problems at all with this player for two years.

Each and Every movie lovers have some desire to see a good quality movie print with some great audio effects . Sony BDP-S350 has an elegant blue and black color, fashion and simple design, light work such as mirror of China and the United States. My opinions for Sony BDP-S350 are as following: 1.smaller.Although the S350 has already learned that compare to before ,it used thin design.

General Instructions

Quick Start

Precautions

Master/Slave Quick Start Instructions Connect up to 16 units together via XLR cables. Follow the dip switch chart on page 11 for master/slave settings. The master unit will run the slaves to programs built-in to the master unit via an internal microphone. Plug in all units. When the Color 150/DMX is first turned on, it will run through an internal self test where it resets to their zero position. After the self test the units will react to sound, and chase to the built in programs. Color 150/DMX

Features

The Color 150/DMX features a bright 150 watt halogen lamp with a 500 hour life. The color wheel features seven brilliant colors plus white. The fixture includes a built-in microphone with adjustable sensitivity, this allows the fixture to automatically run to sound without the need of an external controller. The Color 150/DMX may also be set-up to run in a Master-Slave mode when used in multiples, up to 16 units. When used in the Master-Slave mode, the unit will chase to several internal programs. The Color 150/DMX can also be controlled via a standard DMX controller such as the American DJ Show Designer, or the American DJ DMX Operator, giving the user independent control over the color wheel. The units may also be set to run in to audio in DMX mode.

Halogen Lamp Warning

This fixture is fitted with a halogen lamp which is highly susceptible to damage if improperly handled. Never touch the lamp with your bare fingers as the oil from your hands will shorten lamp life. Also, never move the fixture until the lamp has had ample time to cool. Remember, lamps are not covered under warranty conditions.

Set Up

Power Supply:
Before plugging your unit in be sure the source voltage in your area matches the required voltage for your American DJ Color 150/DMX. The American DJ Color 150/DMX is available in a 120v and 220v version. Because line voltage may vary from venue to venue, you should be sure to plug your unit into a matching wall outlet before attempting to operate you xture.
Data Cable (DMX Cable) Requirements (For DMX Operation Only and Master-Slave): The Color 150/DMX can be controlled via DMX-512 protocol. The American DJ Color 150/DMX is a single channel DMX unit. The DMX address is set on the rear panel of the Color 150/DMX. Your unit and your DMX con troller require a standard 3-pin XLR connector for data input and data output (Figure 1). If you are making your own cables, be sure to use standard two conductor shielded cable (This cable may be purchased at almost all pro sound and lighting stores). Your cables should be made with a male and female XLR connector on either end of the Figure 1 cable. Also remember that DMX cable must be daisy chained and can not be split. Notice: Be sure to follow gure three when making your own cables. Do not use the ground lug on the XLR connector. Do not connect the cables shield conductor to the ground lug or allow the shield conductor to come in contact with the XLRs outer casing. Grounding the shield could cause a short circuit and erratic behavior.

XLR Male Socket 1 Ground 2 Cold 2 Cold XLR Female Socket 1 Ground
Special Note: Line Termination. When longer runs of cable are used, you may need to use a terminator on the last unit to avoid erratic behavior. A terminator is a 90-120 ohm 1/4 watt resistor which is connected between pins 2 and 3 of a male XLR connector (DATA + and DATA -). This unit is inserted in the female XLR connector of the last unit in your daisy chain to terminate the line. Using a cable terminator (ADJ part number Z-DMX/T) will decrease the possibilities of erratic behavior.
Termination reduces signal errors and avoids signal transmission problems and interference. It is always advisable to connect a DMX terminal, (Resistance 120 Ohm 1/4 W) between PIN 2 (DMX-) and PIN 3 (DMX +) of the last fixture.

DMX Addressing
DMX is short for Digital Multiplex. This is a universal DMX binary language used as a form of communication between intelligent fixtures. Each dip switch represents a binary value. Dip Switch 1 address equals 1 Dip Switch 2 address equals 2 Dip Switch 3 address equals 4 Dip Switch 4 address equals 8 Dip Switch 5 address equals 16 Dip Switch 6 address equals 32 Dip Switch 7 address equals 64 Dip Switch 8 address equals 128 Dip Switch 9 address equals 256

DMX CHANNEL 32 128

XLR Pin Conguration
Pin 1 = Ground Pin 2 = Data Compliment (negative)
Pin 3 = Data True (positive)
Each dip switch has a preset value, a desired DMX address is set by combining the dip switches that will create your desired value. For example: To achieve a DMX address of 21, combine dip switches 1, 3, and 5. Sense dip switch 1 has a value of 1, dip switch 3 has a value of 4, and dip switch 5 has a value of 16, the combination of the create a DMX value of 21. Set DMX address 21: Dip switches # 1 = 1 3== 16 = 21

Operating Instructions

Operating Modes:
You can use the Color 150/DMX in three ways: Stand-Alone mode - The unit will react to sound, chasing through the several built in programs. You can also use the optional MINI/C remote control to blackout the units. Master/Slave mode - Allows you to daisy chain up to 16 fixtures together for a synchronized light show. The fixtures will react to sound chasing through several built in programs. DMX control mode - This function will allow you to control each fixtures DMX traits with a standard DMX 512 controller such as the American DJ Show Designer or DMX Operator. NOTE: Stand-Alone and Master/Slave operation require a sound source to operate properly. The units will blackout to conserve lamp life when inactive for more than 60 seconds. A single sound source will reactivate the units. For best results use fog or special effects smoke to enhance the beams projections.
4. Turn all the master units dip switches to the off position and follow the chart on page 11 for all slave dip switch settings. Note only one fixture may use the master units dip switch settings. 5. After all the units settings have been set and are plugged in, adjust the sensitivity knob on the bottom of the master unit to make them react to sound. 6. You can also use the optional MINI/C Remote Control. If you want to use the optional remote control, connect the MINI/C controller to the first fixture in the line (master).
Note: The remote control only operates in Stand-Alone and Master/Slave modes. If the remote is connected in DMX mode it will not function. If the units do not receive an active DMX signal, the units will automatically react to sound in the Master/Slave mode.

Stand Alone Mode:

1. To operate as a stand alone unit, via its internal chases and microphone, turn all dip switches off (see Page 11). 2. Adjust the sensitivity knob on the bottom of the unit so the unit will react to sound. Turning the sensitivity knob in a clockwise direction will make the fixture more sensitive to sound, turning the sensitivity knob in counter-clockwise direction will make the fixture less sensitive to sound.

Master-Slave Operation:

1. In Master-Slave operation one unit will act as the controlling unit and the others will react to the controlling units signal. Any unit can act as a Master or as a Slave. 2. Daisy chain your fixtures via the XLR connectors on the rear of the fixtures with standard XLR microphone cables. Remember that the Male XLR connector is the input and the Female XLR connector is the output. 3. The first unit in the chain (master) will only use the female XLR connector. The last unit in the chain will only use the male XLR connector.

DMX Mode: The Color 150/DMX is completely DMX-512 compatible. DMX allows a programmer the ability to create custom programs when using any universal DMX controller such as the American DJ Show Designer or the American DJ DMX Operator. 1. To operate your fixtures in DMX mode please follow the DMX set-up procedures beginning on page 5. 2. After all the proper set-up procedures have been completed, follow the standard DMX binary code on page 6 to assign a unique DMX address to each individual fixture. A dip switch chart has been included in this manual on page 12. Please note the dip switch guide on page 12 is set up as a guide only. Please follow the instructions included with your DMX controller for proper DMX addressing. 3. The fixture uses one DMX channel to operate in DMX mode, this channel control color change. 4. For further information on operating in DMX mode please refer to your controllers owners manual.

DJ Supply - www.americandj.com - Color 150/DMX Instruction Manual Page 8
Color 150/DMX The MINI/C controller may be purchased separately allowing you to control the main unit, and any others connected to it, while it is in stand alone mode. You can set the unit to blackout. If you have more than one unit, make sure the remote control is plugged into the first unit in the daisy chain. The remote control will not have any effect if the unit is in DMX mode. When the unit is in blackout mode, the light will come on next to the blackout button. The Color 150/DMX may be controlled by a wide range of controllers; ie. Show Designer, DMX Operator, Scene Setter or by the MINI/C basic controller.

Optional MINI/C Remote

Cleaning
Due to fog residue, smoke, and dust, cleaning the internal and external optical lenses must be carried out periodically to optimize light output. 1. Use normal glass cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe down the outside casing. 2. Use a brush to wipe down the fan grill. 3. Clean the external optics with glass cleaner and a soft cloth every 20 days. Situation may very. If used heavily in clubs with lots of fog, cleaning may be required more often. 4. Clean the internal optics with glass cleaner and a soft cloth every 30-60 days. 5. Always be sure to dry all parts completely before plugging the unit in.

MINI/C features: 30 ft. cable
Cleaning frequency depends on the environment in which the fixture operates (i.e. smoke, fog residue, dust, dew). Color 150/DMX

DMX Traits

The fixture has been designed with a special Sound-Active DMX feature. When using this fixture with a DMX controller, you may activate the Sound-Active mode. This feature may prove useful when exact color combinations are not important or there is not enough time to program a complete show.

Trouble Shooting
Listed below are a few common problems users may encounter, with solutions. Note: The unit has been designed to shut the lamp down after 60 seconds of inactivity. This is a way of extending lamp life, be assured this is not a problem with the fixture. If problems are not resolved; Contact American DJ customer support for possible service options.

Caution: Always replace with the exact same type lamp and fuse, unless otherwise specified by an authorized American DJ technician. Replace with anything other than the specified part can damage your unit and will void your manufactures warranty. Warning: If after you have replaced the lamp or fuse and you continue to blow either one, STOP using the unit. Contact customer support for further instructions, you may have to return the unit for servicing. Continuing to use the unit may cause serious damage. Fuse Replacement:
Disconnect the units main power supply. Insert a standard flat head screw driver in to the fuse holder housing. Turn the screwdriver in counter-clockwise direction to remove the fuse holder. Remove the old fuse and discard it, replace the fuse with the same type. Insert the fuse holder back into its housing and turn in clockwise direction to lock the holder in place.
No light from the unit; 1. Be sure the Power On (red) LED is lit and the fan is running. If not, there is no main power supply. 2. Be sure the fuse located on the rear panel is good. 3. If power is present but the lamp does not light, the lamp may need to be replaced.

Lamp Replacement:

Unscrew the retaining thumb screws to expose the lamp socket assemble. 3. Gently remove and discard the old lamp. 4. Insert the new lamp in the lamp/socket assembly and reassemble.
Unit not responding to DMX; 1. If the Green LED on the top of the unit is flashing, the unit is definitely receiving DMX. 2. Check the dip switch settings. 3. If the DMX LED is not lit, be sure the DMX cables are connected properly and are wired correctly (pin 3 is hot; on some other DMX devices pin 2 may be hot). Also, check that all cables are connected to the right connectors; it does matter which way the inputs and outputs are connected. 4. If it is a bad connection, the Green LED may flash when cables are wiggled (but remember it may also be the unit sensing audio!). 5. If DMX connectors are fairly short, ordinary microphone cables may be used. For longer runs, this may cause data transmission problems (which will show up as random or incorrect movements) for best result, use proper balanced data transmission cable. 6. If your DMX controller has a polarity switch, be sure the switch is in the set to the proper position. 7. If the unit was in DMX Sound-Active mode, the unit must hear a beat to return to regular DMX mode.

Unit does not respond to sound; 1. Be sure the unit is not in DMX mode (green LED off). 2. Tapping on the microphone, quiet or high pitched sounds may not activate the unit. 3. Be sure the audio sensitivity knob is turn in the full clockwise position (maximum sensitivity).

Sunray Tri LED DMX dipswitch 10 it is used for special functions.
Power Supply: Before plugging your unit in, be sure the source volt-
age in your area matches the required voltage for your American DJ Sunray Tri LED DMX. The American DJ Sunray Tri LED DMX is available in a 120v and 220v version. Because line voltage may vary from venue to venue, you should be sure your unit voltages matches the wall outlet voltage before attempting to operate you fixture.
DMX-512: DMX is short for Digital Multiplex. This is a universal pro-
tocol used as a form of communication between intelligent fixtures and controllers. A DMX controller sends DMX data instructions from the controller to the fixture. DMX data is sent as serial data that travels from fixture to fixture via the DATA IN and DATA OUT XLR terminals located on all DMX fixtures (most controllers only have a DATA OUT terminal). DMX Linking: DMX is a language allowing all makes and models of different manufactures to be linked together and operate from a single controller, as long as all fixtures and the controller are DMX compliant. To ensure proper DMX data transmission, when using several DMX fixtures try to use the shortest cable path possible. The order in which fixtures are connected in a DMX line does not influence the DMX addressing. For example; a fixture assigned a DMX address of 1 may be placed anywhere in a DMX line, at the beginning, at the end, or anywhere in the middle. When a fixture is assigned a DMX address of 1, the DMX controller knows to send DATA assigned to address 1 to that unit, no matter where it is located in the DMX chain. Dip-switches in DMX mode: This unit uses dipswitches to assign a DMX address. Each dipswitch represents a binary value. Dipswitch 1 address equals 1 DMX CHANNEL Dipswitch 2 address equals 128 SP Dipswitch 3 address equals 4 Dipswitch 4 address equals 8 Dipswitch 5 address equals 16 Dipswitch 6 address equals 32 ON Dipswitch 7 address equals 64 Dipswitch 8 address equals Dipswitch 9 address equals 256 Dipswitch 10 - Some units omit dipswitch 10. When a unit does include
Each dipswitch has a preset value. A specific DMX address is set by combining the dipswitches that sum your desired value. For example: To achieve a DMX address of 21, combine dipswitches 1, 3, and 5. Sense dipswitch 1 has a value of 1, dipswitch 3 has a value of 4, and dipswitch 5 has a value of 16, the combination of the create a DMX value of 21. Set DMX address 21: Set DMX address 201: Dipswitch # 1 = 1 Dipswitch # 1 = 1 Dipswitch # 3 = 4 Dipswitch # 4 = 8 Dipswitch # 5 = 16 Dipswitch # 7 = 64 = 21 Dipswitch # 8 = 128 = 201
Data Cable (DMX Cable) Requirements (For DMX and Master/ Slave Operation): The Sunray Tri LED DMX can be controlled via

DMX-512 protocol. The American DJ Sunray Tri LED DMX is a three channel DMX unit. The DMX address is set below the dome of the Sunray Tri LED DMX. Your unit and your DMX controller require a standard 3-pin XLR connector for data input and data output (Figure 1). If you are making your own cables, be sure to use standard two conductor shielded cable (This cable may be purchased at almost all pro sound and lighting stores). Your cables should be made with a male and female XLR connector on either end of the Figure 1 cable. Also remember that DMX cable must be daisy chained and can not be split.

cables. Do not use the ground lug on the XLR connector. Do not connect the cables shield conductor to the ground lug or allow the shield conductor to come in contact with the XLRs outer casing. Grounding the shield could cause a short circuit and erratic behavior.

used, you may need to use a terminator on the last unit to avoid erratic behavior. A terminator is a 90-120 ohm 1/4 watt resistor which is connected between pins 2 and 3 of a male XLR connector (DATA + and DATA -). This unit is inserted in the female XLR connector of the last unit in your daisy chain to terminate the line. Using a cable terminator (ADJ part number ZDMX/T) will decrease the possibilities of erratic behavior.
Sound Active: 1. Put dipswitch #1 in the On position. The unit will react to the low frequencies of music via the microphone. Auto Program: 1. To run the Auto Program, put dipswitches 1 & 2 in the On po sition. Dipswitch 3 will reverse the rotation. Dipswitches 4, 5, & 6 will control the speed of rotation. 2. The optional UC3 Controller (not included) may be used to con- trol different functions including blackout. See the next page for UC3 controls.

Master-Slave Operation:

Termination reduces signal errors and avoids signal transmission problems and interference. It is always advisable to connect a DMX terminal, (Resistance 120 Ohm 1/4 W) between PIN 2 (DMX-) and PIN 3 (DMX +) of the last fixture.

5-Pin XLR DMX Connectors. Some manufactures use 5-pin XLR
connectors for DATA transmission in place of 3-pin. 5-pin XLR fixtures may be implemented in a 3-pin XLR DMX line. When inserting standard 5-pin XLR connectors in to a 3-pin line a cable adaptor must be used, these adaptors are readily available at most electric stores. The chart below details a proper cable conversion.

This function will allows you to link units together to run in a MasterSlave mode. In Master-Slave operation one unit will act as the controlling unit and the others will react to the controlling units built-in programs. Any unit can act as a Master or as a Slave however, only one unit can be programmed to act as the Master. 1. Using standard XLR microphone cables, daisy chain your units together via the XLR connector on the rear of the units. Remem- ber the Male XLR connector is the input and the Female XLR connector is the output. For longer cable runs we suggest a terminator at the last fixture. 2. Simply daisy chain the units together using XLR cables. 3. For the Master unit put dipswitch 1 in the On position, and all other dipswitches in the Off position. For the Slave units, put any dipswitch in the On position, except the #1 dipswitch. The #1 dispswitch must stay in the Off position on all Slave units. 3. The optional UC3 Controller (not included) may be used to con- trol different functions including blackout. See the next page for UC3 controls.

To control your fixture in DMX mode, follow the set-up proce- dures on pages 5 - 7 as well as the set-up specifications that are included with your DMX controller. Using the dipswitches assign a DMX address to the unit. See page 7 for addressing. 3. For help operating in DMX operation consult the manual included with your DMX controller. 4. internal and external optical lenses and mirror should be carried out periodically to optimize light output. Cleaning frequency depends on the environment in which the fixture operates (I.e. smoke, fog residue, dust, dew). In heavy club use we recommend cleaning on a monthly basis. Periodic cleaning will ensure longevity, and crisp output. 1. Use normal glass cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe down the out- side casing. 2. Use a brush to wipe down the cooling vents and fan grill. 3. lean the external optics with glass cleaner and a soft cloth every C 20 days. 4. Clean the internal optics with glass cleaner and a soft cloth every 30-60 days. 5. Always be sure to dry all parts completely before plugging the unit back in.
