Upgrading to Mac OS 9.2.2 or Mac OS X v10.1.1
Final Cut Pro 3 requires either Mac OS 9.2.2 or Mac OS X v10.1.1 or later to run. The following explains how to upgrade to the appropriate version of the Mac OS used on your computer.
To upgrade to Mac OS 9.2.2:
Before using either of the updaters supplied on the Final Cut Pro 3 CD, you must have Mac OS 9.1 or later installed on your computer. If Mac OS 9.2.1 has already been installed on your computer, skip ahead to step 2.
If youre upgrading from Mac OS 9.1, you must rst upgrade to Mac OS 9.2.1 using the Mac OS 9.2.1 updater. The Mac OS 9.2.1 updater is located in the Mac OS Updates folder in the Final Cut Pro for Mac OS 9 folder on the Final Cut Pro 3 CD. After updating to Mac OS 9.2.1, restart your computer. Once Mac OS 9.2.1 has been installed, upgrade to Mac OS 9.2.2 using the Mac OS 9.2.2 updater. The Mac OS 9.2.2 updater is located in the Mac OS Updates folder in the Final Cut Pro for Mac OS 9 folder.
To upgrade to Mac OS X v10.1.1 or later:
You must have Mac OS X v10.1 or later installed on your computer before you can upgrade to Mac OS X v10.1.1. You must be connected to the Internet to perform the upgrades described in steps 1 through 3. All three upgrades must be performed in order, one after the other.
If youre upgrading from Mac OS X v10.1, open System Preferences, click the Software Update icon, then install the Security Update 10-19-01. Restart your computer. Once the Security Update 10-19-01 has been installed, open System Preferences, click the Software Update icon, then install the Installer Update 1.0. Once the Installer Update 1.0 has been installed, open System Preferences, click the Software Update icon, then install the Mac OS X Update 10.1.1. Restart your computer. Note: If an update newer than Mac OS X v10.1 appears in step 3, install it instead.
