| Davis Weather Station Wonderful. I got this for Christmas as a replacement for my ailing Oregon Scientific station. This costs a bit more. | |

Pro SoloVst User Manual
Pro SoloVst
V. 2.00
1. Overview
The AM Music Technology Pro SoloVst virtual instrument reproduces the monophonic analog synthesizer from the early 1970's ARP Pro Soloist. The sound engine of the Pro SoloVst is a software emulation of the real analog algorithms used inside the original instrument: VCO, resonators, filters, VCF, VCA and analog effects. So you can hear and feel analog like warm sounds coming out from a set of 30 voices corresponding to the presets of the synthesizer.
The Pro SoloVst implements the same user controls that you can find in the real instrument, like switches, slides, knob and aftertouch. Furthermore there is also a few set of new controls, like pitch bend, modulation wheel and expression pedal. Any configuration of the synthesizer is storable in up to 128 programs and can be reloaded through midi program change. All the controls can be handled through midi control change messages (see midi implementation chart par. 5).
2. How to install
VST for Windows
The Pro SoloVst is a virtual instrument compatible with the VST platform by Steinberg. This means that you must have a VST host installed on your computer. The installation procedure is quite simple. First of all extract the dll file from the zip file to the VST plug-in folder on your PC. For instance, if you use Steinberg Cubase, the standard plug-in folder is: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins Anyhow, refer to the VST host documentation to know about the VST plug-in folder. At this point you can launch the VST host application and start a plug-in rescan procedure. This procedure should be described in the VST host documentation. The Pro SoloVst is now installed and ready to be played. Once again, refer to the VST host documentation to understand how to open it and make it work.
AU for Mac OS X
The Audio Unit installation procedure is similar to the VST one. After having decompressed the zip file, you should get the prosolovst.component package. Copy the package in the following folder: username/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
Now the Pro SoloVst AU is ready to be played. Launch the host (i.e. GarageBand) and load the plug-in. Apple provides any kind of detailed information on this procedure.
3. Voice preset list
The Pro SoloVst fully reproduces the ARP Pro Soloist behavior on your computer. It has the same presets, effects and controls plus something else (see par 4 and 5). Here is shows the list of presets.
