May, 2011 Dear Friends: BOW MAKING CLASSES We are expecting Ms. Ana back to teach TWO MORE rounds of BOW MAKING CLASSES. Anas class teaches a wide variety and different techniques. Class meets Wednesday and Friday 9:30-11:00am or 1:30-3:00pm. Round I - meets May 18-June 3. Round II - meets June 15-July 1. You will choose Round I, AM or PM class OR Round II, AM or PM class. Ana is very good about letting students make up missed classes, but please plan to sign up for one or the other time slot in either Round so we will know how many students to plan for. Classes are for beginners or those who want a refresher course. She teaches designs many of us have never heard of before! Cost: $25 for either round; supplies included. FITNESS AREA Healthplex will continue to work with us in the fitness area to make sure all NEW people are
familiar with the machines, HOWEVER, beginning in MAY, they will only be here TUESDAYS FROM 8-10am. Our fitness area is open from 7am until 5pm, Monday thru Friday, except Holidays, AND except if part of the staff is on vacation. This week only, April 28-May 5, the fitness area NOR the Senior Center will open before 8:00am. May 6, we will again open early.

WILLIAM CAREY DINNER THEATRE We will travel to Hattiesburg to the beautiful campus of William Carey University at the new Tatum Theatre, for the Summer production of The Carey Dinner Theatre. We will see Peace in the Valley, a Gospel Musical Comedy on Thursday, June 16. Ticket information in the next newsletter.
MOVIE AND LUNCH Wed., May 11. We will see Water for Elephants, if it is still playing! We will leave the center at 10:00am, have lunch at Olive Garden, then catch the 1:40pm show. Call for reservations. You buy lunch and your ticket. BELLINGRATH GARDENS We have had folks to ask about this trip before it gets too hot, so here goes. We can do the Gardens, Home and River Cruise for $28.50. Lunch is extra. When? Monday, May 16, 8:30am-2:30pm. Register beginning May 2.
TUESDAYS IN MAY We have had some great entertainers already in our new center and even more expected for the coming months. On Tues., May 10 we are honored to have the award winning JAZZ BAND from Pascagoula High AND MISSISSIPPI SOUND, the Senior Adult Choir from First Baptist. The Jazz band is at 11:30am BEFORE lunch and the Choir is at 12:30pm. Come early and stay late! On May 17, we are having T.J. Golson from M&M bank to talk about scams! May 24, Judy Coleman, on hurricane preparedness. May 31, Glen with Health Spring. Plan to join us any Tues.! MOVIE DAY AT THE SENIOR CENTER We are going to watch The Kings Speech on DVD. Kettle popcorn included. Movie Date/Time: Friday, May 13, 10am. SPRING TRIP TO FLORIDA We leave Thursday and will return next Thursday. We will spend 2 nights in Orlando, a night in Ft. Myers, 2 in Miami, one in Key West and one in Silver Springs. Keep us in your prayers and have a great week!

SAMMY RIDES Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a wonderful, memorable event for our friends from Sun City, FL, who made the 2,400 mile bicycle ride to raise awareness for childhood cancer. LUNCH BUNCH FOR MAY Wednesday, May 25. Leave the center at 8:30am. Cost $20. Begin registering Mon., May 2. MOBILE THEATRE GUILD Friday, May 20. CHICAGO We will leave the Senior Center at 6:30pm. Tickets $20 each, beginning Monday, May 2. Since so many of us

saw the Center Stage production last year, we only reserved a limited number of tickets.
