ASUS Teams Up with Intel, Offers New Motherboards for SMBs
Three categories for SMB customers
ASUS, one of the world's leading vendors of computer platforms and a pioneer in the fast growing market for netbooks, has recently announced the launch of a couple of new motherboards, specifically designed to meet the requirements of customers in the SMB segment. According to the Taiwanese company, the new products, part of three different categories, have been designed with the help of the world's leading vendor of processors, Intel. The collaboration between the two industry giants has led to the launch of a line of secure, productive and smart motherboard solutions, enhanced by ASUS' own support services. "We have a very positive outlook on the potential of the SMB IT market. ASUS' solutions include not only motherboards, but also the full range of PC components and a complete 3C portfolio. We are determined to deliver reliable, scalable, and targeted technology solutions and services that are focused on the SMB segment. Catering to a complete range of SMB needs, ASUS' SMB-focused motherboards are classified into Secure, Productive, and Smart classes," said Joe Hsieh, VP of ASUS Motherboard Business Unit. Entirely based on some of Intel's previous generation of chipsets, the new line of motherboards is designed to meet the performance and feature requirements of SMB customers. The three platforms are built with consideration to the specifications of the Energy Star 5.0 and ROHS standards, enabling a more energy-efficient and green product offering. The three motherboard categories currently feature six Intel-based platforms, including the P5Q-VM DO, P5QPL-AM, P5G41-M, P5G41-M LE, P5G41-M SI and the P5QL-VM DO. The first and the last ones are based on the Q45 and B43 chipsets, respectively. The other four are based on the G41 chipset. For added value, these platforms are accompanied by ASUS' promise to deliver a comprehensive service policy with one year of product availability and conditional advance swap for repairs to its partners.
