Readme First

The information contained in the Readme First document applies to all hardware Certifications executed on the Autodesk Media and Entertainment 2011 and Subscription Advantage Pack software product releases and should be acknowledged by all users prior to consulting the Certification charts.

Whats New

This certification was done on Autodesk MotionBuilder 2011 Subscription Advantage Pack, while still supporting the original 2011 version. Certification on Nvidias new FERMI cards is complete. AMD FirePro Vxxxx is also complete. Note that missing cards results should come in the upcoming weeks to fill up the charts. Graphic drivers for Nvidia and AMD have been made available on our server and those drivers are WHQL certified.

Important Notes

1. Certification was performed on dual screen at a resolution of 1920X1200(60Hz). The following settings were applied: On NVIDIA cards: "Autodesk Maya" from the Global Settings presets in the NVIDIA Control Panel (under Manage 3D settings) and "Dual view" mode (under set up multiple displays). On ATI cards the 3D settings are automatically detected and set for the user and therefore no change are required. You should however make sure to select "Extended" for your Dual screen setup NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500x2 and 4700x2 were Certified using the SLI option. You may experience visual artifacts in MotionBuilder 2011 when used in conjunction with Microsoft Vista Aero (desktop composition option) feature. Users are therefore recommended to disable this option to avoid user interface glitches. Please refer to the instructions in the Microsoft Vista Aero Feature Configuration section. Occasional artifacts or refresh problems may be seen when using the bump map shaders. If you are experiencing issues not listed in this document, please search our Knowledge Base or contact customer support (http://www.autodesk.com/motionbuilder-support).

Windows Vista Business SP1
Upon using the (Aero) transparency feature in Vista, some elements of the MotionBuilder user interface may be partially hidden. To work around this issue, disable the Aero feature by following the instructions provided in this document. See Microsoft Vista Aero Feature Configuration. (Bug #311201)
Microsoft Vista Aero Feature Configuration
It is recommended to disable the Windows Vista Aero feature to avoid user interface glitches. To disable the Windows Vista Aero feature: Right-click on an empty area on the Desktop and choose Personalize. Click on the Theme link (to determine whether you are using Windows Vista theme). If you are using the Windows Vista theme, go to the next step (0) and if you are using the Windows Classic theme, go to step 0. Go to the previous window and click the Window Color and Appearance link. In the Window Color and Appearance, disable Enable transparency. If you are using the Windows Classic theme, go to the previous window and click the Theme link. In the Appearance Settings window, select Windows Standard color scheme and click Apply.

1. The latest WACOM drivers are required for best tablet support. When installing a new WACOM driver, it is imperative to first uninstall the old driver, reboot, and then install the new one, as per instructions from Wacom Co., Ltd. Failure to do so may impact performance of the hardware. 2. WACOM tablets were certified using hardware and graphics that have been previously certified by Autodesk, as described in the following documents: Graphics Certification & Workstations Certification. 3.
