Introducing the SES DSR-701 is an innovative solution that will ensure you go the distance with digital signal integrity- whether 10 feet or 150 feet of HDMI cable. The DSR-701 (Digital Signal Restorer) is built with a new state-of-the-art Transition Minimized Differential Signaling (TMDS ) data amplifier that automatically corrects the incoming signal back to HDMI specifications. The input stage has a huge dynamic range allowing even a weak incoming signal to be locked. Once the data is locked, this unit introduces a unique digital equalizer that determines the amount of correction required. Then the DSR-701 provides the necessary equalization to restore the data back to the proper HDMI specification level. Now you can connect whatever length of HDMI cable to your system with confidence of delivering the highest level of resolution (1080i).

Simply Connect your DSR-701
1. 2. 3. 4. Place the DSR-701 (HDMI Restorer) near your display. Connect your display to the out of the Restorer by using a short HDMI cable. Connect your long HDMI cable from a source such as a DVD player to the Restorer In. Connect the 3.3Volt (provided) to the power jack located on the In side and connect the other end into an AC outlet.
Now you are ready to go the distance with confidence and ease.

DS16EV51-AEVKH HDMI Extender Demo Kit for HDMI Cables

General Description

The DS16EV51-AEVKH HDMI Cable Extender Demo Kit provides a complete HDMI system extension solution using Nationals DS16EV5110A - a Video Equalizer for HDMI cables. Two HDMI female connectors are used as the input and the output connections for a HDMI system. The DDC signals, Hot Plug, 5V Power and 5V Ground are directly connected between the HDMI connectors, making this demo kit HDCP compliant. A 3.3V VCC 1-pin header (J4) and a GND 1-pin header (J5) are used for the power supply. Alternately, an AC/DC power adapter (>800mA) is required for the evaluation kit to provide 5V DC voltage for easy portability. A 1.8mm DC Power Jack is used to connect the AC/DC Power Adapter. Nationals LP3965, a 3.3V, 1500mA, Fast, Ultra Low Dropout Linear Regulator, converts the 5V power supply voltage to a 3.3V power supply voltage that powers the DS16EV5110A.

Layout Considerations
Keep the clock and data transmission lines as short as possible with controlled 50 ohm single-ended impedance. Or, use differentially coupled traces with 100 ohm impedance. Avoid using vias on the clock and data transmission lines on the input side of the DS16EV5110A. Place power supply decoupling capacitors close to the VCC pins.
