Belkin (info for Nintendo DS systems)
Router models included here:
F5D7230-4 F5D7230-4 v3000 F5D7234-4 v1 F5D7234-4 F5D8230-4 v2000
F5D7230-4 Question: Ok, I got a new router a couple weeks ago and it works just fine for my laptop. But I can't go on Wi-Fi with my DS. I keep getting error code 52200
Generated by Jive SBS on 2011-06-09-06:00 1
Resolution: Disable Protected mode on the router. You may need to turn off the firewall as well(if it has one). If it still does not work, I would try a manual connection.
Question: I keep getting 52000 whenever I try to connect my DS to the Wi-Fi. I couldnt find any firewall to turn off. Im sure I had it working before but now it doesnt. Resolution: The router has something called Frameburst you will need to disable. Also you will need to setup a manual connection on the DS.
F5D7230-4 v3000 Question: My Nintendo DSi was able to find this router through connection slots 1-3 when searching for an access point but I get error code 052100-2 Resolution: Set up manual connection, I had to use a different DNS server as primary and the default gateway as the secondary DNS, but this may be different for you. Connection test successful, update was successful.
F5D7234-4 v1 Question: I used it for a few months to play The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass, Mario Kart Wii, and my other Wi-Fi compatible games for the Wii and the DS. Recently I found out how to access my routers security settings and I secured it. I input all the necessary information into my DS and my Wii (and yes I used WEP). When I test connection I get a successful test message but when I try to play games online the connection always fails on both systems. However, I am able to use the internet channel, and all other internet reliant channels on the Wii. I've tried restoring my router to factory default settings (settings that originally worked for both systems) and even completely disabling firewall settings on my router and computer. I've also tried power cycling the router and changing the channel to 1, and 11. Any suggestions? Resolution: I managed to fix the problem. I reset both my modem and my router and set them up again and now it works fine. I realized afterwards that it was the connection type listed under my routers settings. I have a PPoE connection but if I set my router to these settings neither the Wii nor the DS can connect for online games. Instead I simply set my connection type to Dynamic in my routers settings and it works fine now.

F5D7234-4 Question: My DSI connects to my wireless router and I use the web browser without a problem but every time I try and use the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection to play a game, it always gives me an error message saying that there is no compatible access point in the range. Resolution: (specific to error message, no compatible access points in range): The reason you are getting this error message is because your wireless router is in an encryption other than WEP encryption. I recommend changing your encryption to WEP from WPA. DS games do not work with WPA security.
F5D8230-4 V2000 Question: My DS wont connect and neither will my sisters DS Lite. The error code is 52000. We arent using any security if that matters, I saw how some of the errors are caused by that. Resolution: In the router page that has the Channel and SSID of the router, you will find something called ACK mode. Turn this off. If there is something there called protected mode, turn that of as well. Once those are disabled it should connect.

While the Nintendo DSi is compatible with WPA security, Nintendo DS games with online play still require the use of WEP or no security to connect with the Nintendo WFC. Therefore, your connection settings for using these games must be set up on slots 1-3.
Connection slots 4-6 will only work with Nintendo DSi specific online features, they will not work with Nintendo DS games. The error message you received typically indicates WPS

was not being setup properly. Please visit the following link, if you would like to setup your Nintendo DSi with WPS: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/dsi/en_na/usb/WPS.jsp

My Belkin model is F5D7230-4 and I have literally tried everything. I have my security set up as 128 bit Wep and I tried 64 bit Wep and no luck. I don't know what else to do. Any solution? Why can't getting online be easy as the Wii.

I have a belkin model F5D8236-4 v1 and I'm having a serious problem with my Wifi. All of my wii games that use Wifi end up giving me the same error code whenever I try to do anything involving other players. For example, in SSBB I usually can't get past the Stage selection screen due to getting an error code (86420). This error code also pops up during Mario Kart Wii. In Monster Hunter Tri, I keep getting error code 11669/11668. My basic internet works fine, its just when I connect to other players this happens. My firewall is disabled and I've tried changing the channel to 1 or 11. Any suggestions?

Sorry, but I'm afraid that isn't much help. I'm short on cash, so I don't want to buy a new one.

Yeah.I don't think so. Look, there HAS to be a way. I mean, it's not like ALL the same routers as mine have this problem. I would have noticed something like that.
It is extremely frustrating at this point. All my buds are getting together to play MHT, but I can't. Am I like the only one who has this problem? I mean, seriously? I'm getting very desperate at this point. I will go to almost any lengths to fix my problem (aside from buying a new router).

If you're having an issue connecting with others online, setting up port fowarding or placing your Wii into your router's DMZ may resolve this issue. For matchmaking, you'll want to forward UDP ports 1 through 65535. If you have questions on this process, your router's manual should provide the necessary steps to make these changes in your router settings.
If you're still unable to connect with friends after trying these steps, I'd suggest contacting Nintendo's Consumer Service Department at 1-800-255-3700 for further assistance. Representatives are available between 6am an 7pm Pacific time.

If you are not too short on cash you could get a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector.

Hi I have a Belkin Wireless G router it is model F5D7234-4 v5.
I have been a customer of nintendo products for a very long time. I loved the fact of trading over wifi. But for whatever reason, I keep getting 86420. There is no problem with my wifi, because on my Ipod Touch it works fine, and on my sisters PSP it works fine, and on her DSi it works fine too.
This is what I got for the error on the Nintendo site.

If the problem still persists with the firewall off, you may need to open ports on your router through the Port Forwarding feature.
1. Create a manual connection on your Nintendo DS and assign a static IP Address. 2. Open ports 1 through 65535 as both TCP and UDP. 3. Ensure the ports are forwarded to the same IP Address given to the Nintendo DS system during the manual setup.
I have a Belkin wireless G router. It has both b and g support. I need simple non-geek speak. Please help, I really like trading oevr wifi.
PS: I can trade with myself over wifi just fine, just not with other people.

I have a Belkin F5D7234-4 V1. It is currently set up as WPA2 security. Is there a way to change it to a WEP so that I can connect my DS lite for online play? Are there any issues or compliccations with changing my router's settings to WEP instead of WPA2?
