INSTALL YOUR PHONE
Connect the Base Station Connect the Base Station
Plug the power supply into the base station. & line cord
Plug the mains adapter into a 230Vac mains telephone socket,and the telephone line plug into your telephone socket. Always use the cables provided in the box.
Warning: Only use the mains power adapter provided. Other power supplies may cause a hazard. Warning: Install the base unit in a position where the mains adapter plug will reach an easily accessible mains socket. Never try to lengthen the mains power cable. Note: The base unit needs mains power for normal operation, not just for charging the handset batteries.
If you have a Broadband line
If you connect your telephone to a line with a broadband connection, you will need to insert a micro-filter between the telephone and the telephone line; otherwise you may get interference between the telephone and the broadband, which could cause problems. In a home with broadband, every telephone must have a micro-filter connected, not just the one at the telephone point that your modem is connected to. If you need more broadband micro-filters, contact your broadband supplier.
Install and Charge the Batteries

Handset:

1) 2) 3) Place the two supplied batteries as shown, and with the correct polarity. Slide the battery compartment cover back on, as shown. Put the handset on the base and charge the battery for 15 hours before using the handset for the first time. The handset will give a beep when it is properly placed on the base or charger. Use only the NiMH rechargeable batteries provided.
Conference Unit : 1) 2) 3) Place the two supplied batteries as shown, and with the correct polarity. Replace the battery compartment cover as shown. Put the conference unit on the charger pod and charge the battery for 15 hours before using the conference unit for the first time. The conference unit will give a beep when it is properly placed on the charger pod.

4.3 Answer a Call

4.4 End a Call
During a call press <TALK OFF> to end the call. OR Put the handset on the charging cradle or the base station or charger pod to end the call. 5 volume levels (Level 1 to Level 5) are provided for each of earpiece and handsfree volume.
4.5 Adjust Earpiece and Handsfree Volume
You can talk to someone nearby without letting the caller hear you during a call. During a call: Press <Mute/Left Soft key> to mute the microphone. The display will show "Call Muted" and your caller cannot hear you. Press <Unmute/Left soft key> again to unmute the microphone. In idle mode, press and hold <#> to turn off the handset ringer. The RINGER OFF icon is displayed on the LCD.

4.6 Mute a Call

During a call: Press <UP> or <DOWN> to increase or decrease the volume level respectively. The current setting is shown. When you end the call, the volume settings will still remain at the last selected level.
4.7 Turn the Handset Ringer Off 4.8 Redial
The last 20 numbers dialled are saved in the Redial list. If you have stored a name in the phonebook that matches the number, the name will be displayed instead. 4.8.1 Redial a number from the redial list 1. Press <DOWN> to access the redial list. 2. Press <UP/DOWN> to browse the redial list. 3. Press <TALK ON> to dial to the selected redial number. Note: If there are no numbers in the redial list, the display shows List Empty. 4.8.2 Save a redial number into the phonebook 1. Follow steps 1 and 2 in section 4.8.1. 2. Press <Select> to select the redial number. 3. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Add to PB. 4. Press <Select> and then enter the name, edit the number if necessary and select the melody. Note: Press <DOWN> after entering the name to go to the next step of editing the number, and then press <DOWN> to go to the final step of selecting the melody. Press <RIGHT> or <LEFT> to scroll through the melody options.Name and number must be entered in order to save a new phonebook entry. 5. Press <OK> to save the redial number into the phonebook. 4.8.3 Delete a redial number 1. Follow steps 1 to 2 in section 4.8.2. 2. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Delete. 3. Press <SELECT> and then <OK> to confirm the Delete. 4.8.4 Delete the entire redial list 1. Follow steps 1 to 2 in section 4.8.2. 2. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Delete All. 3. Press <SELECT> and then <OK> to confirm the Delete All.

4.9 Keypad Lock

You can lock the keypad so that it cannot be used accidentally while carrying it around, but you will still be able to answer an incoming call. 1. To lock the keypad: In idle mode, press and hold <*> key, the <Keypad lock icon>will display. 2. To unlock the keypad: In idle mode, press and hold <*> key, the <keypad lock icon> will disappear.

4.10 Find Handset

You can locate the handset by pressing <PAGE> on the base station. All the handsets registered to the base will ring up for 60 seconds and Paging is displayed on the LCD. You can stop the paging by pressing any key on the handset except <Silent / Right soft key> or pressing <PAGE> on the base.
4.11 Make an Internal Call (For multi-handset versions only)
This feature is only applicable when there are at least two registered handsets. It allows you to make internal calls, transfer external calls from one handset to another handset and make conference calls. 4.11.1 Intercom another handset 1. Press <INT> and the registered handsets will be listed. Note: If there are no additional handsets registered to the base the display will show "Intercom ! Unavailable". If there is only one other handset registered to the base, it will immediately ring that handset and display "Call to Handset X". 2. Press <the handset number> or <LEFT> or <RIGHT> to select the handset that you want to make an internal call with. 3. Press <Select>. Note: Select <9> to ring all the registered handsets. 4. The called handset rings and the intercom call will be established when <TALK ON>, <SPEAKERPHONE> or <LEFT SOFT KEY> is pressed on that handset. 4.11.2 Transfer an external call to another handset During a call: 1. Follow steps 1 to 3 in section 4.11.1. 2. The external call is put on hold automatically and the called handset rings. 3. Press <TALK ON> / <SPEAKERPHONE> / <Accept> on the called handset to establish an internal call. 4. Press <TALK OFF> on the calling handset to end the current call with the external party. 5. The external call is transferred to the called handset. 4.11.3 Switch calls between an external call and an internal call During a call: 1. Follow steps 1 to 3 in section 4.11.1. 2. The external call is put on hold automatically and the called handset rings. 3. Press <TALK ON> / <SPEAKERPHONE> / <Accept> on the called handset to establish an internal call. 4. Press <INT> on the calling handset to switch between the external call and the intercom call, while keeping the other on hold. 4.11.4 Make a 3-way conference call The conference call feature allows one external call and two handsets to share the conversation and no network subscription is required. During an external call: 1. Follow Steps 1 to 3 in section 4.11.2. 2. Press and hold <INT> to establish the 3-way conference. Any handset that hangs up during a conference call will leave the other handset still in connection with the external call.

PHONEBOOK

Each handset can store up to 100 private phonebook entries with names and numbers. Each phonebook entry can have a maximum of 24 digits for the phone number and 12 characters for the name.

5.1 Add a New Entry

In idle mode: 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Phonebook. 2. Press <Select> to access the phonebook menu. 3. Press <UP/DOWN> and <Select> to select Add. 4. Enter the name and press <OK>, then enter the number and press <OK>. Note: You can press and hold <#> to toggle between the uppercase and lowercase letters. You must enter something in the Name and Number fields in order to save it in the phonebook. When entering the name, you can press and hold <*> to toggle between different character sets. 5. Press <RIGHT/LEFT> to select the melody. 6. Press <OK> to save the phonebook entry. Note: The chosen melody will only be played if you subscribe to caller display and the incoming number matches the phonebook number. Note: When the phonebook is viewed the entries will be displayed in alphabetical order. In idle mode: 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Phonebook 2. Press <Select> to access the phonebook menu. 3. Press <UP/DOWN> and <Select> to select Edit. 4. Press <UP/DOWN> and <Select> to select the phonebook entry you wish to edit. 5. Enter the revised name, phone number and Melody. 6. Press <OK> to confirm. In idle mode: 1. Press <Right Soft Key> to access the phonebook. 2. Enter the first character of the name using the digit keys, as a short-cut to find the name you want. 3. Press <UP/DOWN> to highlight your desired phonebook entry. 4. Press <Select> to view the details of the selected phonebook entry. OR 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Phonebook. 2. Press <Select> to access the phonebook menu. 3. Press <UP/DOWN> and <Select> to select View. 4. Press <UP/DOWN> to highlight your desired phonebook entry. 5. Press <Select> to view the details of the selected phonebook entry. In idle mode: 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Phonebook. 2. Press <Select> to access the phonebook menu. 3. Press <UP/DOWN> and <Select> to select Delete. 4. Press <UP/DOWN> and <Select> to choose the phonebook entry that you want to delete. 5. Press <OK> to confirm the delete, or <Back> to leave it in the phonebook.

6.5 Delete the Entire Call List
You can set date and time in different format as well as an alarm time.

7.1 Date & Time

7.1.1 Change date format In idle mode: 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Clock/Alarm. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Date & Time. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Date Format. 4. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired date format from DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY 5. Press <Select> to confirm. 7.1.2 Change time format In idle mode: 1. Follow steps 1 to 2 in Section 7.1.1. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Time Format. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired time format from 12 Hours or 24 Hours. 4. Press <Select> to confirm. 7.1.3 Set the date In idle mode: 1. Follow steps 1 to 2 in Section 7.1.1. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Set Date. 3. Press <Select> and enter the date according to the date format you set in Section 7.1.1. 4. Press <OK> to confirm and save the new date. Note: If an invalid date is detected, an error tone will sound, the entry will not be saved and you can try again to enter a valid date. 7.1.4 Set the time In idle mode: 1. Follow steps 1 to 2 in Section 7.1.1. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Set Time. 3. Press <Select> and enter the time according to the time format you set in Section 7.1.2. Note: If an invalid time is detected, an error tone will be emitted and the cursor will stay at the incorrect input. 4. If entering the time in 12 hour format, when the cursor is at the AM/PM field, press <UP/DOWN> to switch between AM or PM. In 12 hour format the time can be between 01:00 and 12:59. In 24 hour format the time can be between 00:00 and 23:59. 5. Press <OK> to confirm. You can use the handset as an alarm clock. When an alarm is set, the <ALARM Icon> is shown on the handset display. When the alarm time is reached, the <ALARM icon> and Alarm On flash on display, and the alarm melody is played for 45 seconds or until any handset key is pressed.If the snooze function is activated, the alarm will repeat every 2 minutes, unless <Off> or <TALK OFF> are pressed while the alarm is sounding.

7.2 Alarm

Note: a. If the handset keypad lock is on, the keys will still function while the alarm is sounding. b. The alarm volume level setting is the same as that of the handset ringer volume. If the handset ringer is set to Volume Off, the alarm still sounds at Volume 1 level. c. During an external or internal call, if an alarm is set and the alarm time is reached, the <ALARM icon> and Alarm On will still flash. An alarm tone will be played in the earpiece to notify the user the alarm time has been reached. If the user presses a key to stop the alarm or activate the snooze, the display will revert to the call duration screen. d. During ringing, the alarm will not sound when the alarm time is reached. However, if the ringing stops within 45 seconds of the alarm time, the alarm will sound, and the snooze function will continue, if set.
7.2.1 Turn off the alarm In idle mode: 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Clock/Alarm. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Alarm. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Alarm Off. 4. Press <Select> to confirm. 7.2.2 Set and turn on the alarm In idle mode: 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Clock/Alarm. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Alarm. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Alarm On. 4. Press <Select> and enter the alarm time using the digit keys. 5. Press <OK> to confirm the alarm time. 6. Press <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Snooze On or Snooze Off. 7. Press <Select> to confirm your choice. 7.2.3 Set the alarm melody In idle mode: 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Clock/Alarm. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Alarm. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Alarm Melody. 4. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to the alarm melody you want. 5. Press <Select> to confirm the melody.

8.1.1 Set the audio volume In idle mode: 1. Press <MENU> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Audio Setup. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Speaker Volume or Ear Volume (for handset unit only). 4. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> or <LEFT/RIGHT> to select the volume level from level 1 to level 5. 5. Press <OK> to confirm your chosen Speaker or Earpiece volume. 8.1.2 Set the internal ringer melody In idle mode: 1. Press <MENU> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Ring Setup. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Internal Ring. 4. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired internal ringer melody (10 ringer melodies and 5 standard tones are provided). Note: The respective ringer melody will be played while browsing the melody list. 5. Press <Select> to confirm your internal (intercom) ringer melody. 8.1.3 Set the external ringer melody In idle mode: 1. Press <MENU> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Ring Setup. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to External Ring. 4. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired external ringer melody (10 ringer melodies and 5 standard tones are provided). Note: The respective ringer melody will be played while browsing the melody list. 5. Press <Select> to confirm your external call ringer melody. 8.1.4 Adjust the Ringer Volume In idle mode: 1. Press <MENU> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Ring Setup. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Ring Volume. 4. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> or <LEFT/RIGHT> to select your desired ringer volume level from Level 1 to Level 5 or Ringer Off. Note: The respective ringer volume will be played during your selection. If Volume Off is selected, the <Ringer Off> icon will be displayed in idle mode. 5. Press <OK> to confirm your ringer volume selection. 8.1.5 Set the alert tones A single beep is emitted when you press a key. You can turn this key tone on or off. You can also turn on the alert tones when low battery and out of range are detected. 1. Press <MENU> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Tone Setup. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Key Tone / Battery Low / Out of Range. 4. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to On or Off. 5. Press <Select> to confirm your alert tone setting.

8.1 Handset Settings

Your phone comes with a selection of settings that you can change to personalise your phone operation.
8.1.6 Set language 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll toLanguage. 3. Press <Select> and < UP/DOWN> to scroll to the desired language. 4. Press <Select> to confirm the language used on your handset display. 8.1.7 Rename the handset 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Rename HS. 3. Press <Select> and enter your new name for the handset. Press <Clear> to delete the last character or press and hold <Clear> to delete the whole character string. Note: The handset name can be up to 12 characters long. 4. Press <OK> to confirm the new name. 8.1.8 Select a wallpaper 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Wallpaper. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired wallpaper (Two wallpapers are provided, and the wallpaper will display while browsing the wallpaper list.) 4. Press <Select> to confirm your wallpaper selection. 8.1.9 Select a colour theme 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Colour Theme. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired colour theme (Four colour themes are provided, and the colour theme effect will display while browsing the colour theme list.) 4. Press <Select> to confirm your colour theme selection. 8.1.10 Set the contrast level 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Contrast. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired contrast level (5 contrast levels are provided, and the contrast effect will display while browsing the contrast level list.) 4. Press <Select> to confirm. 8.1.11 Turn Auto Answer On or Off 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Auto Answer. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Auto Answer On or Off. 4. Press <Select> to confirm your Auto Answer setting. 8.1.12 Set the call barring Each of your handsets can be set to bar external outgoing calls to certain numbers. You can program up to four 4-digit numbers, to prevent that handset dialling to any telephone numbers beginning with these digits. If call barring is activated, internal calls and conference calls are still available. 8.1.12.1 Turn call barring on or off 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Call Barring. 3. Press <Select> and enter the 4-digit system PIN (Default 4-digit system PIN: 0000) 4. Press <OK> to confirm the PIN. Note: If the PIN code is entered incorrectly, PIN Invalid will display. 5. Press <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Barring Mode. 6. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to On or Off. 7. Press <Select> to confirm your Call Barring setting. Note: If Barring Mode is set to On, Call Barred will display in idle mode, if there are no new answering machine messages or caller display entries.

8.1.12.2 Set the call barring number 1. Follow steps 1 to 4 in Section 8.1.12.1 2. Press <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Barring Numbers. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Bar Number 1/2/3/4. 4. Press <Select> and enter the number for the selected Bar Number. Note: Each barring number can include up to 4 digits including * and #. Press <Clear> to delete a digit or press and hold <Clear> to delete the whole barring number. 5. Press <OK> to confirm the number to be barred. Note: If Barring Mode is set to On and Barring Number is programmed with at least one number, your handset will check the first 4 digits of your dialing number with the programmed barred numbers. If the dialing number matches with any one of the set barred numbers, Call Barred will display and the call will be ended. 8.1.13 Set the SOS number This function allows you to enter a number which is permitted to be called even when the call barring function is enabled. You can program up to three 4-digit SOS numbers, to permit the handset to dial any telephone numbers beginning with these digits, regardless of barred numbers. 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Handset Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to SOS Number. 3. Press <Select> and enter the 4-digit system PIN. (Default 4-digit system PIN is 0000). 4. Press <OK> to confirm the PIN Note: If the PIN code is entered incorrectly, "PIN Invalid " will display. 5. Press UP/DOWN to scroll to SOS Number 1/2/3. 6. Press <Select> and enter the number of up to 4 digits for your selected SOS Number. 7. Press <OK> to confirm the SOS number. 8.1.14 Select base station If your handset is registered to more than one base station, you can select which base station to use. 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Select Base. 3. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired base station. Note: An * is displayed next to the currently used base. 4. Press <Select> to confirm. Note: If the selected base is found successfully, Saved will display, otherwise, Failed will display. 8.1.15 Reset handset settings to default You can reset your phone to its original default settings. After reset, all your personal handset settings will be defaulted , but your phonebook, call list and redial list entries remain unchanged. 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Default. 3. Press <Select> and enter the 4-digit system PIN (Default 4-digit system PIN: 0000) 4. Press <OK> to confirm the PIN. 5. Press <OK> to confirm the handset default. Note: If the PIN code is entered incorrectly, PIN Invalid will display.

De-register a Handset

IMPORTANT: When you purchase an iDECT Z10/Z10i system, all handsets are already registered, and you should not need to de-register a handset unless it is lost or becomes faulty. Note: You cannot de-register the handset that you are currently using. 1. Press <Menu> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Base Settings. 2. Press <Select> and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Delete HS. 3. You will hear a single tone if the PIN has been accepted, or a triple error tone if it has been rejected. VAT at the applicable rate will be added to all purchasers invoices. Collection notes

Purchasers must produce a Collection Note at the time of taking delivery of their Lots and Collection Notes will be issued by the Auctioneers only when they are satisfied that payment has been made.
1. 1.1 1.2 Application of these General Conditions In these General Conditions the expression 'the Auctioneer' includes his employees and agents and any person to whom conduct of the Auction is delegated under clause 5.11 below. These General Conditions apply to every Auction of Plant and Machinery, Chattels and Trade Stocks conducted by the Auctioneer and to any Lot offered for sale in the Auction whether that Lot includes property fixed to land or not fixed to land or any other personal property. If these General Conditions have not previously been accepted by a person attending or bidding at the Auction, bidding for any Lot in the Auction shall be deemed to be an acceptance by the Bidder of these General Conditions. To the extent that these General Conditions are inconsistent with any special conditions set out or referred to in the Auction Catalogue or announced at the Auction, the Special Conditions shall prevail. The Auctioneer's Remuneration The Auctioneer's remuneration shall be such as has been agreed between the Seller and the Auctioneer. Bidding on behalf of Another Unless the Auctioneer has previously acknowledged in writing that the Bidder bids as agent on behalf of a named principal, every Bidder shall be taken to bid on his own behalf as principal. If the Auctioneer has earlier acknowledged in writing that the Bidder bids as agent on behalf of a named principal, the Bidder warrants that he has the authority of his principal to make each bid he makes. Conduct of the Auction The Auctioneer offers each lot as agent of the Seller and not as principal unless otherwise indicated in the Auction Catalogue. Any Lot may be subject to a reserve price unless otherwise indicated in the Auction Catalogue. The Seller or his representative or the Auctioneer on his behalf may bid for any Lot unless otherwise indicated in the Auction Catalogue. The Auctioneer may at any time before the fall of the hammer withdraw or divide any Lot or combine any Lots. With the previous consent of the Seller, the Auctioneer may sell any Lot by private sale before or after the Auction. The Auctioneer may require any Bidder to give his name and address and proof of identity before accepting a bid. The Auctioneer may reject any bid at his sole discretion and without being required to give a reason. The Buyer shall be the person who made the highest bid before the fall of the hammer or such other person as the Auctioneer may declare to be the Buyer without being required to give a reason. The Auctioneer may decide whether there is a dispute between Bidders, may summarily determine the dispute or immediately again offer the Lot for sale, in each case without being required to give a reason. The Auctioneer shall in every other respect decide how the Auction is to be conducted and without being required to give a reason. The Auctioneer may in his sole discretion delegate to a person whom he believes to be competent the conduct of the Auction in accordance with these General Conditions. After the Sale Upon the Auctioneer declaring any Lot sold, the Buyer shall immediately:(a) give the Auctioneer his name and address and, if requested, proof of identity; (b) identify any person on whose behalf he has bought; (c) pay to the Auctioneer if requested a deposit of up to 25 per cent of the price. Within the time specified in clause 6.3 below, the Buyer shall pay the following sums to the Auctioneer in full:(a) the balance of the price of all Lots purchased together with any VAT due; (b) the value as summarily determined by the Auctioneer, whose determination shall be final and binding, of all or part of any Lot or of the premises where the Auction is held which has been damaged or destroyed by the Buyer or his principal or his agent. The time for complying with clause 6.2 above shall be the time specified in the Auction catalogue or if no time is specified there, 4 pm on the next working day, and in every case time shall be of the essence. The Auctioneer may at any time in his sole discretion grant the Buyer an extension of time for complying with clause 6.2 above, in which case the Buyer shall pay to the Auctioneer in full before moving or removing the Lot interest on any unpaid sums at a rate of 4 per cent above Barclays Bank plc base rate in force from time to time. The Buyer may not remove any Lot until the Buyer has paid the sums specified in clause 6.2 above in full for every Lot he has bought. After paying the sums specified in clause 6.2 above, the Buyer must remove the lot bought by the time specified in the Auction Catalogue or if no time is specified there, 5 pm on the next working day, and in every case time shall be of the essence. The Auctioneer may at any time at his sole discretion and on terms specified by him grant the Buyer an extension of the time specified in clause 7.3 above. If the Lot bought is or includes a motor vehicle, no warranty is given that the vehicle may safely or lawfully be driven on the road.
When removing any Lot the Buyer:(a) Is responsible for detaching any Lot fixed to land and must do so safely and lawfully and must not use flame cutters, explosives or any other dangerous equipment or process without previous written permission signed by or on behalf of the Auctioneer. (b) must use safe and lawful means of removing the Lot; (c) shall indemnify the Auctioneer and the Seller against any loss damage legal or other expenses and any claim arising from the detaching of the Lot or its removal; (d) shall have insurance in respect of such indemnity and shall on request produce to the Auctioneer a receipt for the last premium due or other sufficient evidence that such insurance has been effected and remains in force.
Default by the Buyer If at any time the Buyer has failed either to pay the sums specified in clause 6.2 above in full by the expiry of the time specified in clause 6.3 above (or any extension granted under clause 6.4 above), or to remove any Lot by the time specified in clause 7.3 above (or any extension granted under clause 7.4 above), the Auctioneer may rescind the sale of that Lot, in which case any deposit shall be forfeit, and that Lot may be resold by auction or privately. If the Auctioneer has rescinded the sale but the Buyer has removed the Lot bought, the Auctioneer shall be entitled without previous notice to enter upon any premises where he believes the Lot to be and remove it. If the Auctioneer has rescinded the sale and the Lot has been resold, the Buyer shall make good any deficiency, namely:(a) the sale price less the resale price; (b) the costs of and incidental to resale. If because the Buyer has failed to remove any Lot by the time specified in clause 7.3 above (or any extension granted under clause 7.4 above), the Seller is unable to give vacant possession on disposing of or relinquishing any interest in the premises from which the Lot should have been removed, the Buyer shall compensate the Seller for any loss resulting. Liabilities and Indemnities The Auctioneer warrants that he believes that the Seller of each Lot is able to pass good title, and if the Seller is not able to do so, the Auctioneer shall use his reasonable endeavours to assist the Buyer in obtaining good title and in pursuing any remedies the Buyer may have against the Seller, but the Auctioneer shall not be bound to initiate litigation and shall not be under any other obligation to the Buyer. Each Lot is sold as seen and where lying. No Lot is sold as comprising or including any new goods. The Auctioneer neither has nor professes any expert or other knowledge of any Lot sold and there is hereby excluded any liability the Auctioneer might otherwise incur and any right or immunity the Buyer might otherwise possess in respect of any conditions, warranties or representations relating to the condition of any Lot sold or the merchantable quality of any Lot or its fitness for the particular or any purpose for which it is or may be required whether such conditions, warranties or representations are expressed or implied in the Auction Catalogue or are the subject of oral or written statements made by or on behalf of the Auctioneer or any other person before or in the course of the Auction. No liability shall attach to the Auctioneer either in contract or in tort for loss injury or damage legal or other expenses sustained by the Seller, any Bidder, the Buyer or any other person by reason of:(a) any defect in any Lot sold, whether or not such defect be latent or apparent on examination; (b) any defect or danger of the premises where the Auction is held; (c) any alleged failure of the Auctioneer properly to advertise the Auction or to seek or obtain expert advice with regard to any Lot offered for sale or its reserve price; (d) any act or omission of the Auctioneer in the conduct of the Auction or after the Auction; (e) any act or omission of any person other than the Auctioneer. The Seller shall indemnify the Auctioneer in respect of any claims made by another or third party for any loss injury damage or legal or other expenses referred to in clause 9.5 above. The Auctioneer shall not be liable to indemnify the Seller or any Bidder or the Buyer in respect of any claims made by another or third party for any loss injury damage or legal or other expenses referred to in clause 9.5 above. Clauses 9.3 to 9.7 shall not be valid insofar as prohibited by statute. In no circumstances shall the Auctioneer be liable for any consequential loss or damage. Waiver No indulgence by the Auctioneer shall prevent the Auctioneer or the Seller subsequently insisting upon their respective rights and remedies. Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 (HSWA) Waivers (SHE-42 and 42a) Section 6 (8) of the Act In certain instances it may be necessary for the Purchaser to give a written undertaking pursuant to Section 6 (8) of the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974. Asbestos/Hazardous Substances It is expressly brought to the purchasers attention that certain types of plant or main service installations could contain Asbestos, dangerous chemicals, etc, which if not handled correctly during their removal from the site could be in breach of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002, the Asbestos (Licensing) Regulations as amended and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1988 (COSHH) or any other current legislation covering the use of such substances in a working environment. All purchasers must comply with all current legislations and regulations, including the Water Industry Act 1994 (as amended) and the Environment Protection Act 1990, as amended; in relation to the removal/disposal of waste/trade effluent including hazardous waste and may be required to satisfy Eddisons in relation to their disposal/removal procedures. Where waste materials are removed all work must be undertaken by an approved and licensed contractor.

To bid in an Online Auction the buyer has to be registered with eddisons.com and have bidder status. On registering you receive a user name and password, which you can use to log in. You can do this directly on the homepage by entering your user name and password or by selecting "Log In" in the navigation bar at the top. Click the "Bid Now" button when you have found the desired product. The system will ask you to Enter Your Bid. You can also make a bid higher than the minimum bid and the system then increases your bid automatically every time you are outbid, thus allowing you to participate actively in the auction without having to follow it constantly. Can I retract or change a bid in an Online Auction? Once bids are submitted you cannot remove or modify them, although you can place additional bids. If you make a mistake in your bid, please contact us immediately on 3332. Am I committed in any way when I make a bid below the reserve price? No. As long as your bid lies below the reserve price, you are not committed to buying a product. It

may occur that a seller will occasionally want to sell a product at a price below the reserve price. In such cases, we will contact you and ask you whether you want to buy the product for your present highest bid. Will I be notified if my bid is outbid? Your "My Account" shows you the current status of all your bids. You will also receive an email. What is an opening price, and how does it affect my bidding? The opening price is the price at which interested buyers can start bidding. The system will reject any offer below this value. Opening prices for products without a reserve price tend to be higher than those with a reserve price. What is a reserve price, and how does it affect my bidding? We have the right to specify a "reserve price" for a lot. When such a price has been defined, it means that only the buyer making the highest offer, which is above the "reserve price", will win the bid. If the offer is below the "reserve price", we are not obliged to sell the item. ('Reserve Not Met'/'Reserve Met') The seller is obliged to sell to the highest bid if this corresponds to the reserve price or is higher. The auction commences at the opening price, 'Reserve Not Met', and bids can be made until the end of the auction. When a bid exceeds the hidden reserve price, the product is clearly marked with 'Reserve Met', the obligations change and bidding can continue. What is a minimum bid increment and how does it affect my bidding? The minimum bid increment is the minimum amount that has to be added to the current highest bid in order to place a new bid. This encourages buyers to bid larger increases in price, thereby decreasing the number of small, insignificant bids and the work required to administer them. Generally, this increase is larger for high value products. What is a maximum bid and how does it affect my bidding? A maximum bid is a bid placed on behalf of a buyer by eddisons.com, up to the maximum amount. This feature allows buyers to outbid other bids without having to be online, whilst giving the bidder the control to specify the maximum bid. With a maximum bid, the buyer specifies the price for the highest bid. The system automatically places the next bid and increases it by the bid increment until the buyer either wins the bid or his maximum price is reached. This method and the maximum bid remains in effect until the end of the auction or until the buyer changes his maximum bid. Any new bids made by other buyers automatically activate the maximum bid function for the buyer. The maximum bid placed by a buyer is never disclosed to other buyers - and the system will always use the lowest bid necessary to win. Why did my bid price increase by more than the minimum bid increment? This happens in the case of simultaneous bids and Bids below the reserve price. If two bids occur in close succession, the bid price is driven up by both bids and may appear to occur simultaneously, especially when other people have placed maximum bids. How can I track all my bids? A registered user with bidder status can access the bidding activity within the "My Account" area of the site to review all current bidding activity.
