BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.1.18 SDR 208750 In certain circumstances, previous versions of the client might use an increased amount of memory on the BlackBerry device, and the client might stop responding. In the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.1.18, this issue is resolved. SDR 182032 In previous versions of the client, in certain circumstances, when a user sends a message in a conversation, the message might display three times instead of once in the conversation on the recipients client. In the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.1.18, this issue is resolved. SDR 182031 In previous versions of the client, in rare circumstances, if a user adds a contact to the contact list using the BlackBerry device, the contact might not receive an Add Request notification. In the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.1.18, this issue is resolved. SDR 136586 In previous versions of the client, if a user sends a request to the BlackBerry Collaboration Service to add a contact to their contact list, and the request contains an invalid group ID or group name, the BlackBerry Collaboration Service does not respond to the request and the client does not display an error message. In the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.1.18, this issue is resolved. BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.2.19 SDR 301851 SDR 228634 Automatic login is turned off by default. In previous French versions of the client, the emoticon selection list is not translated into French. In the French version of the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.2.19, this issue is resolved.

Known issues

BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.1.18 SDR 295920 If a user adds a Windows Live Messenger contact to the contact list, the Windows Live Messenger contact appears offline. Workaround Instruct users to log out, and then log back in to the client.

About BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005
You can use BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 to chat with other Microsoft Office Communicator users using your BlackBerry device. To use the client, you must have a Microsoft Office Communicator user name. If you do not have a user name, contact your administrator. You can send and receive email messages and use other applications on your device while the client is running. When you receive a new instant message, an icon appears in the device status section of the screen.
Log in to the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005
If you do not remember your user name or password, contact your administrator. 1. In the BlackBerry Client for use withMicrosoft Office Live Communications Server 2005, type your user name and password. 2. Perform any of the following actions: To avoid typing your password each time that you log in, select the Save Password check box. To log in to the client automatically each time that you turn on your BlackBerry device, select the Automatically log me on check box. To set your availability status before you log in, select the Use custom login status check box. Highlight the Sign In option. Click the trackwheel. Click a login status. 3. Click Sign In.
Log out of the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005
If you log out of BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005, you do not receive messages. If you log out without closing your existing conversations, you can access them again the next time that you log in. If you turn off or reset your BlackBerry device, you can access your active conversations the next time that you log in to the client. 1. On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Sign Out.

Delete the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005
1. In the device options, click Advanced Options. 2. Click Applications. 3. Highlight the BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005.
4. Click the trackwheel. 5. Click Delete.

Contacts

About contacts
Your contact list displays your list of individual contacts and groups. The contact list includes your existing Microsoft Office Communicator contacts.

Add a contact

On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. Click Add a Contact. Click a group. In the Sign-in name field, perform one of the following actions: Type a user name. Type part of a user name. Click a user name. Type part of a user name. Click Lookup. Click a contact. 5. Click OK. 6. To associate the contact with a contact in the main contact list on your BlackBerry device, perform one of the following actions: If the contact is in your main contact list, click Select Contact. Click an email address. If the contact is not in your main contact list, click New Contact. Type the contact information. Click the trackwheel. Click Save. 1. 2. 3. 4.

Respond to an invitation

1. On the Contact list screen, in the Requests list, click an invitation. 2. Click Accept or Deny.
View a contact's information
1. On the contact list screen, highlight a contact. 2. Click the trackwheel. 3. Click View Contact Info.
Associate a contact with a contact in the main contact list on your BlackBerry device
You can associate a contact from your client with a contact in your main contact list who has an email address, phone number, or both. You can then complete some tasks more quickly, such as calling or sending an email message to the contact quickly during a conversation. 1. On the Contact list screen, highlight a contact. 2. Click the trackwheel. 3. Click Link to BlackBerry Contact. 4. Perform one of the following actions:
If the contact is in your main contact list, click Select Contact. Click an email address. If the contact is not in your main contact list, click New Contact. Type the contact information. Click the trackwheel. Click Save.
Change a contact's display picture

Hide the display pictures that appear beside contacts in the contact list

Delete a contact

1. 2. 3. 4. On the Contact list screen, highlight a contact. Click the trackwheel. Click Delete Contact. Click Delete.
A contact no longer appears in my contact list
Try performing the following actions: If you have set your client to hide offline contacts, organize offline contacts so that you can view offline contacts. If you have collapsed the group that the contact is in, expand the group. On the Contact list screen, highlight the group. Click the trackwheel.

Groups

Add a group
1. 2. 3. 4. On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. Click Create New Group. Type a group name. Click OK.
Move a contact to a group
1. 2. 3. 4. On the contact list screen, highlight a contact. Click the trackwheel. Click Move Contact To. In the Select Group drop-down list, click a group.
Remove a contact from a group
When you remove a contact from a group that you created, the contact is moved to the default group. 1. On the Contact list screen, highlight a contact. 2. Click the trackwheel. 3. Click Remove Contact from Group.

Rename a group

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. On the contact list screen, highlight a group. Click the trackwheel. Click Rename Group. Type a group name. Click OK.

Delete a group

1. 2. 3. 4. On the Contact list screen, highlight a group. Click the trackwheel. Click Delete Group. Click Delete.
Organize offline contacts
1. On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Options.
3. In the Show Offline Contacts drop-down list, click one of the following options: To group offline contacts, click Group. To view offline contacts, click Yes. To hide offline contacts, click No. 4. Click the trackwheel. 5. Click Save.

Conversations

Send a message
1. 2. 3. 4. On the Contact list screen, click an online contact. Click Send IM. Type a message. Press the Enter key.
Send a message to a user that is not in your contact list
1. 2. 3. 4. On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. Click Send IM to Other. Type a user name. Click OK.

Open a conversation

Conversations appear in the Conversations group and in the main message list on your BlackBerry device. 1. On the Contact list screen, in the Conversations group, click a contact. 2. Click Open Conversation.

Add an emoticon

1. When you are composing a message, press the Symbol key. 2. Press the Symbol key multiple times until the emoticons appear. 3. Click an emoticon.

Switch conversations

1. During a conversation, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Switch Conversation. 3. Click a contact.
Call or send an email message to a contact quickly during a conversation
To perform this task, the contact from your client must be associated with a contact in the main contact list on your BlackBerry device. During a conversation, perform any of the following actions: Click the trackwheel. Click Call <Contact Name>. Click the trackwheel. Click Email <Contact Name>.
Send a conversation as an email message
1. During a conversation, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Email Conversation.

Start a conference

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. During a conversation, click the trackwheel. Click Invite to Conversation. In the drop-down list, click a contact. Type a message. Click OK.
View a list of conference participants
1. During a conference, click the trackwheel. 2. Click View Participants.

Copy a conversation

1. During a conversation, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Copy Conversation.

Clear a conversation

1. During a conversation, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Clear Conversation.

End a conversation

1. During a conversation, click the trackwheel. 2. Click End Conversation.
Stop grouping messages in conversations
In a conversation, by default, consecutive messages that you send or receive are grouped together. 1. On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Options. 3. In the Group Messages in Conversation drop-down list, click No. 4. Click the trackwheel. 5. Click Save.
I am not receiving notification of new messages
Try performing the following actions: In the notification profile list, click the active notification profile. Change the notification option for the Enterprise Messenger New Message item to Tone, Vibrate, or Vibrate+Tone. In the notification profile list, for the active notification profile, verify that the Volume fields for the Enterprise Messenger New Message item are not set to Mute.

Text sometimes changes after I type it
If AutoText recognizes specific text, it is designed to replace the text that you type with the AutoText entry automatically. 1. To view or change AutoText entries, during a conversation, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Edit AutoText. For more information about AutoText, click Help on your BlackBerry device.

Conversation history

View the conversation history for a contact
To perform this task, on the Options screen, the Save Message History field must be set to save conversations on your BlackBerry device or on a media card. 1. 2. 3. 4. On the Contact list screen, highlight a contact. Click the trackwheel. Click View History. Click a conversation history.
Delete a conversation history
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. On the Contact list screen, highlight a contact. Click the trackwheel. Click View History. Click the trackwheel. Perform one of the following actions: To delete the conversation history for an individual contact, click Delete Contact's History. To delete the conversation history for all contacts, click Delete Complete History.

Availability

Change your availability status
1. At the top of the Contact list screen, click your user name. 2. Click an availability status.
Clear your availability status
1. At the top of the Contact list screen, click your user name. 2. Click Reset Status.
Set your availability indicator to reflect your device status
You can set your availability indicator to change to Away when you do not use your BlackBerry device for the duration of time that you set. When you use your device again, the availability indicator changes back to its previous state. 1. On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. 2. Click Options. 3. Change the Show me as Away when idle for field to a duration of time. 4. Click the trackwheel. 5. Click Save.
Hide the status messages that appear beside contacts in the contact list
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. On the Contact list screen, click the trackwheel. Click Options. Change the Show Status Messages field to No. Click the trackwheel. Click Save.
Receive notification when a contact becomes available

About notification profiles
In the notification profile list, you can set notification options such as vibrate or tone for the client. The Enterprise Messenger Alert notification profile specifies how you are notified when a contact becomes available. The Enterprise Messenger New Message notification profile specifies how you are notified of incoming instant messages.
