Getting started

About eBay for BlackBerry devices
You can use eBay for BlackBerry devices to keep track of items and auction activities on eBay. You can search for items, watch items, bid on items, buy items, and more. You can also receive notifications on your BlackBerry device when you are outbid, when an auction that contains a watched item is ending soon, when you win a bid on an item , and when you lose a bid on an item. If you already have an eBay account, you can use your existing login information to log in to eBay for BlackBerry devices. To get an eBay account, visit www.ebay.com.

Sign in to eBay for BlackBerry devices

To sign out of eBay for BlackBerry devices, press the Menu key. Click Options. Click Sign Out.
Check for the latest version of eBay for BlackBerry devices
You can check if a new version of eBay for BlackBerry devices is available for you to download over the wireless network. 1. Press the Menu key. 2. Click Options. 3. Perform any of the following actions: To check for the latest version manually, under Application Updates, click Check Now. Complete the instructions on the screen. To check for the latest version automatically, select the Automatically check for updates check box.
Change your default country

Notifications

About notifications
You can receive an eBay notification in the messages application on your BlackBerry device when you are outbid on an item, when an auction that contains a watched item is ending soon, when you win a bid on an item in an auction, when you lose a bid on an item in an auction, when you sell an item, and when the auction for an item you are selling ends.
Send a message to a seller

View a message

1. On the My eBay screen, click Member Messages. 2. Click a message.

Reply to a message

You can reply to a message when a user asks you a question about an item you are selling. 1. On the My eBay screen, click Member Messages. 2. Click a message. 3. Click Reply. 4. Type a message. 5. Click Send.
Stop receiving eBay notifications
By default, you receive a notification when you are outbid, when an auction that contains a watched item is ending soon, when you win a bid on an item in an auction, and when you lose a bid on an item in an auction. 1. Press the Menu key.

Click Options. Under Notifications, clear the check box. Press the Menu key. Click Save.

Searching

About searching for items
You can search for specific items on eBay by keyword or item number. If you want to narrow your search for items, you can perform an advanced search to find items that meet specific criteria. You can also use advanced search to sort your search results.

Search for an item

1. On the eBay home screen, perform one of the following actions: To perform a basic search, in the search eBay field, type a keyword or item number. To perform an advanced search, press the Menu key. Click Advanced Search. Type a keyword. Specify the search criteria. 2. Click the Search icon at the top of the screen.
View your favorite sellers
You can view sellers that you marked as favorites on the eBay web site. 1. Press the Menu key. 2. Click My eBay. 3. Click Favorite Sellers.

View a saved search

You can view searches that you saved on the eBay website. 1. Press the Menu key. 2. Click My eBay. 3. Click Saved Searches. 4. Click a saved search.

View an item

In the search results or My eBay lists, click an item. To view a description of the item, click Item Description.
Bidding, buying, and selling
About bidding, buying, and selling
When you want to buy an item, you can buy the item in one of two ways set by the seller. If the item is set to the Auction buying option, you can bid on the item for a fixed duration. The item is then sold to the highest bidder. If the item is set to the Buy It Now buying option, you can buy the item immediately for the price that the seller sets. You can also view items that you listed for sale on the eBay web site on a computer, and you can relist items that that you listed for sale on the eBay web site on a computer.

Bid on an item

You can only bid on an item if the Bid Now option appears on the item screen. 1. When viewing an item, click Place Bid. 2. Type your maximum bid. 3. Click Continue. The item that you bid on appears in your bidding items list. If you win the item, the item then appears in the won items list.
Buy an item immediately for the price that the seller sets
You can only buy an item immediately if the Buy It Now option appears below the item. 1. When viewing an item, click Buy It Now. 2. Type a quantity. 3. Click Confirm Purchase. The item you buy appears in your won items list.
Add an item to your watched items list
When viewing an item, click Watch. To delete an item from your watched items list, in your watched items list, press the Menu key. Click Unwatch item.
Add an auction end date to the calendar application
When viewing an item, click Add to Calendar. For more information about viewing events in your calendar, click Help on your BlackBerry device.
Pay for an item using PayPal
1. In your won items list, click Pay with PayPal. 2. Complete the instructions on the screen. You cannot pay for some items using your BlackBerry device. For more information about PayPal, visit www.paypal.com.
View items that you listed for sale
You can view the items you have listed for sale from the eBay web site on a computer. On the My eBay screen, click All Selling.

Relist an item for sale

Once an item auction has ended, you can relist an item that you first listed for sale on the eBay web site on a computer. 1. On the My eBay screen, click All Selling. 2. Click Unsold. 3. Click an item. 4. Click Relist Item. 5. Click Continue. 6. Click OK.
