If the cable is incorrectly positioned remove the mounting screws, lower the platform slightly and reposition the cable. C) D) Remove the 4 mounting screws and large flat washers if fitted and discard, as these are not required. Fix the monitor mounting plate to the mounting platform as shown in the picture below using the 4 off M4 screws and washers. The plate should be fitted with the threaded studs facing upwards and the large hole nearest to the windscreen. The monitor cable should pass through the large hole and should be free to push up into the cavity as the monitor is fitted. Before tightening the screws, the plate should be adjusted to that it sits centrally and protrudes about 1mm past the edge of the grey plastic mounting platform towards the windscreen.

Select the 6 off M3 monitor mounting screws and an appropriate small pozi-drive screwdriver. Plug the 8-way plug on the monitor into the monitor cable. Lift the monitor upwards to meet the mounting holes, passing the monitor cable and plug / socket connection into the cavity above the mounting plate. It is essential that there is free movement of the cable between the monitor screen and the cavity behind the mounting platform. Fix the monitor in place using the 6 off screws. Before tightening the screws, the monitor should be adjusted so that is sits centrally on the mounting plate.

Freeview Receiver & AV Switch
Parts Required 12v Entertainment Harness, Freeview Receiver, AV Switch Box, Obserview Control Box, Scart cable Locate the entertainment equipment fixing area, usually behind a removable panel behind the Status TV amplifier in the wardrobe, dresser or above the fridge. Remove the wooden mounting plate with strap that is used to mount the AV Switch & Freeview receiver. Mount the AV Switch and Freeview receiver on to the wooden mounting plate using the supplied strap referring to the photo below. Connect the Scart cable to the Freeview receiver and the 3 phono plugs at the other end to IN 2 on the AV Switch. If the Scart cable has a direction switch (as per the photo below) ensure this switch is away from the Scart cable entry.
Position strap lengthways across units
At the rear of the entertainment fixing area locate the 6-way entertainment 12v supply connector. Plug in the 12v entertainment harness supplied in the kit. Note that on some vehicles this harness may already be installed. Attach the relay to the wall panel using a screw (you will need to remove the relay to access the mounting hole). Mount the isolation switch in the hole provided (you will need to unplug the cables to do this, then refit them after installing the switch). If a hole is not present you will need to drill a 19mm hole to suite the switch. Attach the two 2.1mm power connectors to the Freeview receiver and AV Switch respectfully (either plug will fit either unit). Attach the 3-way plug to the Obserview control box. Do not mount the units to the vehicle at this stage. You are now ready to connect the TV & AV cables.

Locate the TV cables already installed in the vehicle and connect them to the Freeview receiver. The cable that comes from the TV Amplifier connects to the Freeview aerial input (plug on end) and the cable that goes to the vehicle TV socket connects to the Freeview aerial output (socket on end). Note this plug and socket may be connected together in the vehicle on delivery, if so you will need to unplug them before connecting to the Freeview receiver. Page 4 of 10 07/03/2007
Sargent Electrical Services Ltd. G) Locate the AV cables already installed in the vehicle and route them to the Obserview control box (6-way plug and 8-way plug) and the Freeview / AV switch as per the diagram in Appendix A. Plug the 8-way plug into the Obserview Monitor socket and plug the 6-way plug into the CCD2 socket (this is the cable from the camera).
GREEN Marker cables
BLUE Marker cables
GREY Marker cables
Plug the short 6-way plug to 2 x phono lead supplied in the kit into the Obserview CCD1 socket. Connect the yellow plug with green tape marker into the yellow OUT 1 on the AV Switch (the red phono socket in this lead is not used) [Video to monitor]. Locate the 2-way phono cable with green tape marker and plug these plugs into OUT 1 on the AV Switch (matching red-red, white or black-white) [Sound to DVD player]. Note: Depending on the cable supplier, some left audio connectors are supplied in black instead of white. Locate the 3-way phono cable with grey tape marker and plug these plugs into OUT 2 on the AV Switch (matching red-red, white-white, yellow to yellow) [Video and sound to TV outlet]. Locate the 3-way phono cable with blue tape marker and plug these plugs into IN 3 on the AV Switch (matching red-red, white-white, yellow to yellow) [Video and sound from DVD player]. Locate the cable from the remote Infrared Eye already fitted to the vehicle (3.5mm stereo jack plug) and plug this into the corresponding socket on the rear of the Freeview Receiver. Please note that there is a spare input on the front of the AV Switch (Input 1) that can be used to connect other equipment (camcorder etc).
J) K) L) M)
The AV Switch will work automatically without the need to press any buttons and can therefore be hidden away in a cupboard. However, if a user wishes to operate the unit manually they should press the round Auto/Manual button to switch to manual mode and then selected the required input by pressing the appropriate square button. N) You have now completed all connection in the entertainment area. Now mount the Obserview control box in a suitable position using 2 screws. Mount the Freeview assembly mounting plate using the original method of fixing (removed at B above). You may wish to delay the mounting operation until you have tested the system.

DVD Player Installation
Parts Required DVD Player, Mounting cage, Adaptor harness supplied with DVD player, Adaptor harness supplied with Entertainment kit.
B) C) D)
Locate the Fiat radio connectors, Sat Nav harness, 3-way phono cable and 2-way phono cable that will already be present in or behind the radio aperture. Fit the DVD mounting cage into the radio aperture as per the Blaupunkt instructions supplied with the DVD player. The original Fiat radio connectors arrive as a pair of 8-way connectors joined by a thin plastic web. These two plugs must be separated before continuing with the installation. A pair of snips or sharp knife is recommended for this task, as attempting to break the connectors apart may damage the connectors themselves. Referring to the diagram in Appendix B, connect the Fiat radio connector A to the mating socket on the Sat Nav harness. Connect red and white plugs from the phono cable marked with blue tape to the Blaupunkt adaptor harness with the yellow connector C1. Note that the yellow phono socket in this Blaupunkt harness is not used. Connect the red and white plugs from the phono cable marked with green tape to the AV adaptor harness with the pink connector D. Connect the yellow plug from the phono cable marked with blue tape to the AV adaptor harness with the pink connector D. You are now ready to connect the DVD player. Insert plugs A, B , C1, C2, C3, D and the Aerial cable into the DVD player.
E) F) G) H) I)
Rear view of DVD Player connections
Carefully insert the DVD player into the mounting cage feeding the bulk of cable into the void behind the DVD mounting. Note that the removal of the storage compartment above the radio aperture will allow the cables to be guided into place. You should ensure that no cables are trapped as the DVD player is pushed fully home. You may wish to leave the player partially protruding until you have fully tested the system.

Commissioning
This section covers the basic steps to check the operation of the entertainment system. Turn on the entertainment isolation switch and check that a green LED illuminates on the AV Switch box and that the red standby LED illuminates on the LCD Monitor. In some vehicles you may also need to turn on the 12v power at the leisure control panel. Reversing Camera - With the ignition turned on and the LCD monitor positioned for viewing, engage reverse gear and check that the monitor switches from standby to ON and that the reverse camera picture is displayed. Turn the ignition off when complete. DVD playback on Monitor & TV - Press the power button on the LCD Monitor to switch from standby (LED on) to ON (LED off). A blue screen will initially be displayed. Now insert a DVD into the DVD Player and press the play button (refer to instructions supplied with DVD player). Input 3 green LED will illuminate on the AV Switch. If the picture is not visible you may need to change the AV setting of the monitor by pressing the AV1/AV2 button, which toggles between the two settings (AV1 Freeview or AV2 Camera). If you have a TV set connected to the AV/TV outlet you can also set this TV to AV input and confirm that picture and sound are present. After confirming the picture press the stop button on the DVD player. Ensure the TV aerial amplifier is switched on (red LED) and that the aerial is extended and in the horizontal plane. Check with www.freeview.co.uk or other body to confirm availability of signal in your location and suggested aerial orientation. Freeview TV on Monitor & TV - Turn the Freeview Receiver on using the remote control pointing it towards the remote control eye. A green LED will illuminate on the front of the Freeview Receiver and the initial menu will be displayed on the LCD Monitor. Follow the instructions supplied with the Freeview Receiver to align the antenna and search for channels. Once searching is complete, select a channel (i.e. BBC1) and confirm that the picture is visible on the LCD Monitor. If you have a TV set connected to the AV/TV outlet you can also set this TV to AV input and confirm that picture and sound are present. Freeview sound via DVD Player speakers - Select AUX2 input (auxiliary input 2) on the DVD Player so that you can hear the Freeview sound, again referring to the instructions supplied with the DVD player (page 127 external audio sources). You should now hear the Freeview sound through the dashboard and ceiling mounted speakers. AV Switch Operation - To confirm the AV Switch automatic operation, with the Freeview picture showing on the LCD Monitor, insert a DVD into the DVD Player and press play. After a few moments the picture will changeover to the DVD picture. Pressing stop will revert the picture to the Freeview signal. Remember to pass all instructions supplied with the individual pieces of equipment and these instructions to the customer for future reference.
