It is often the case that navigation users do not know which type of navigation system they have. Understanding this information is vital for selecting the right navigation map when updating or purchasing additional features and coverage. This document lists all the systems (In-Car and mobile navigation systems) for which Tele Atlas offers a digital map in the Aftermarket, sorted by type and brand, often accompanied by a picture. Compatible systems are listed with the date they were installed or were available for purchase and, in some cases, the date they were last fitted or were available on the market i.e. 12/2000 (December 2000) until 12/2005 (December 2005). If uncertainty still exists about which digital maps are compatible with a particular navigation system then try one of these other solutions: Remove the current digital map, then switch the system off and back on again. Some systems will ask you to insert the correct digital map (e.g. Please insert a TravelPilot DX CD). Looking at the current digital map (CD, DVD, SD-card, Flash Card etc.) can also help provide an indication as to general compatibility, since it will normally bear the navigation system logo or platform (e.g. Blaupunkt, Mio, VDO Dayton etc.).
