WHAT A SUPER SOUND SYSTEM!!!!! I COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER SOUND SYSTEM. I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY IT AGAIN. THE PRICE IS PRETTY MUCH SET THOUGH. Irritating Absolutely no mid-range to these "emperors new clothes" speakers. And they buzz when there should be perfect audio silence on your laptop.

BOSE has become synonymous with price-fixed technology. For X-mas they gave all dealers a 10% discount to pass along to consumers. Even at 224.

Video options

These options affect the way the picture looks on your TV. Option
Widescreen TV Note: If your TV is connected using an HDMI cable, you may not see a choice of settings. DVD Image Modified (Original)

Yes (16:9) (No 4:3)

Yes tells the system that widescreen (16:9) is the TV format. No tells the system that 4:3 is the TV format. For a TV connected using a Composite, S-Video, or Component cable, selecting No also makes available the DVD Image option (below). Note: If you are not sure what type of cable is used to connect your TV, check the Video Connector indicator, which is explained on page 51. For a TV connected using an HDMI cable: Modified allows the Bose system to automatically provide the resolution that is preferred for your TV (usually 720 or 1080), so the image fills the screen. You can change this video resolution in the Settings menu. Original tells the Bose system to keep the image in the original DVD format (in 480 or 576 resolution), regardless of how it fills the screen. No change can be made to this video resolution in the Settings menu. (Some TVs determine automatically how to fill the screen, overriding any choice.) For a TV connected using non-HDMI cable: Modified allows the Bose system to adjust the images on some widescreen DVDs to fill a 4:3 TV screen. This is done by removing the black bars on top and bottom and by cropping the sides of the image. (Many DVD images, even widescreen, will still appear with black bars on top and bottom.) Original tells the Bose system to keep the image in the original format of the DVD. A widescreen DVD image will have black bars on top and bottom.

Sound is distorted Sound is marred by a loud hum or buzz
No sound from TV only Speech and lip movement on screen are not in sync Radio does not work or has poor reception
If your TV has Variable instead of Fixed audio output, you need to turn off the TV speakers internally. Refer to your TV owners guide and follow the instructions provided there. Adjust the Audio Delay using the Settings menu on screen. For details, refer to Choosing new settings on page 54. Make sure the antennas are connected and positioned as shown in Installing the FM and AM radio antennas on page 25. Adjust the FM antenna position to reduce interference. Move antennas farther from the media center, TV, or other electronic equipment. Select another station. You may be in an area of weak signal coverage for some stations. Change the Audio Level for the source input so its volume matches the volume of the radio and DVD in the Bose system. Refer to Audio options on page 49.

Remote issues

321 remote does not control your TV, CBLSAT, or AUX component
Make sure that the remote is set to control the component. Refer to Setting the remote for your TV on page 31. Make sure that the front of the component is not obstructed. Reset the remote using a different device code for the component you want to control. Refer to Device codes located at back of the book. There may be several codes that can turn the component on and off, but only one that provides further control (channel changing, for example). Aim the remote at the front of the media center. Make sure the battery polarity (+ and ) matches the polarity marked in the battery compartment. Install new batteries. Refer to Replacing remote batteries on page 60.
321 remote behaves erratically or does not work

Sound, but no picture
Make sure the TV is on. Make sure the TV is set to the correct Video Input to see the video from DVDs on the Bose system. Make sure a DVD is in the disc tray. If the TV is connected to the media center using the HDMI cable: Switch from one Video Input to another and then back to the original input. Turn everything off, then: A. Turn on the TV and set the TV Video Input for the Bose system video. B. Turn on the 321 system and press DVD. Turn off both the TV and the 321 system and then: A. Unplug the HDMI cable from both ends. B. Disconnect the power cables from both your TV and the 321 Acoustimass module. C. Re-connect power to the television and to the Acoustimass module. D. When the 321 startup message disappears from the display, re-connect the HDMI cable. E. Turn on the TV first, then turn on the 321 system. Disconnect the HDMI cable that connects the TV to the 321 media center. Reconnect the two using a Component cable, an S-Video cable, or the Composite cable provided with the system.
