Historical note The Executive Committee of the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches consists of the Moderator, Assistant Moderator, Secretary and Executive Secretary of that conference. Until 1990 it was responsible for those affairs of the Conference not within the jurisdiction of any particular board or committee (1981 General Conference Constitution). According to the General Conference Restructuring Proposal accepted in 1990, the Executive Committee's responsibility is to serve as the executive officers of the General Conference, the Council of Boards and the Executive Council. Most of the Executive Committee responsibilities enumerated in the 1981 Constitution have been assigned either to the Executive Council or the Council of Boards.
