Anmerkung: Der Dampfdrucktank ist mit einem Sicherheitsverschluss (5) versehen, der sich nicht aufschrauben lsst, solange der Druck im Tank noch zu hoch ist. Wenn der Dampfdrucktank leer ist, leuchtet die Anzeige fr niedrigen Wasserstand (6,h) auf. Zum Befllen des Tanks gehen Sie wie folgt vor: Schalten Sie die Dampffunktion aus (7). Drcken Sie die Dampftaste (2) so lange, bis Sie hren, dass kein Dampf mehr aus dem Bgeleisen entweicht. ffnen Sie den Sicherheitsverschluss (5). Vorsicht: Der Sicherheitsverschluss, der Dampfdrucktank und die Abstellflche fr das Bgeleisen sind hei. Hinweis: Falls der Druck im Tank noch zu hoch ist, lsst sich der Sicherheitsverschluss nicht ffnen. Warten Sie in diesem Fall einen Augenblick oder wiederholen Sie den im vorangegangenen Punkt beschriebenen Vorgang. Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker. Warten Sie 2-3 Minuten, bis sich der Dampfdrucktank abgekhlt hat. Fllen Sie den Tank mit Hilfe des Einflltrichters (h) langsam mit Wasser auf. Keine Dampfproduktion

We hope you enjoy your new Braun Steam Station. Important Read the use instructions completely and keep them during the entire lifetime of the iron. Make sure your voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the bottom of the steam boiler. Connect the steam station to alternating current only. Place the boiler on a stable, level surface. Always unplug the appliance before filling it with water. Before refilling during use, always allow the steam. boiler to cool down for a miminum of 2- 3 minutes. The cord and the steam hose should never come in contact with hot objects or with the hot sole plate. Make sure the lock button for permanent steam (1) is not activated and the safety cap of steam boiler is closed before the appliance is plugged in. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. During ironing pauses, always place the iron on top of the iron stand on the steam boiler or upright on its heel rest. Unplug the appliance when leaving the room, even if only for a short time. Keep the appliance away from children. High temperatures and hot steam could lead to burns. Caution: Safety cap, steam supply hose, steam boiler and especially the iron stand are get hot during use. Steam ironing can cause condense water which may drop from the back of the iron board onto the floor. Check cord and hose regularly for possible damage. If the appliance (including cord) shows any defect, stop using it and take it to a Braun Service Centre for repair. Faulty or unqualified repair work may cause accidents or injury to the user. Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested. For this reason your Braun steam station could contain a small quantity of remaining water in the steam boiler.

Before starting off

Make sure that the on/off switch (8) has been turned off and the system is unplugged. Open the safety cap (5,a) of the steam boiler (10). If cold, there could be a vacuum in the boiler, which may cause a sound when you remove the cap. This is absolutely normal. Fill in about 1 litre of ordinary tap water (a). A funnel is included to make this operation easier. If you have extremely hard water we recommend to use a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water. Never use distilled water exclusively. Do not add any vinegar, additives, descaling agents or other chemicals. Close the safety cap of the steam boiler carefully. Place the boiler on a stable, level surface (like a table or the floor). Place the iron on the iron stand (4,b), plug in the appliance (c) and press the on/off switch (8). Important: Make sure that the lock button for permanent steam (1) is not activated. Set the temperature selector (3,d) according to the ironing guide on the heel rest of the iron or the label in your garments. The temperature control light (11,e) goes off when the desired temperature is reached.

Steam-ironing

Steam-ironing is possible at ironing temperatures indicated with the red area on the temperature selector (d, from max to slightly lower than the two dots). Press the switch for steam function (7). The pilot light in the switch for steam function (7) goes off when steam is ready after approx. 8 minutes. During use the pilot light will go on and off indicating that the appliance is working to maintain the required steam pressure. Press the steam control button (2,f) as often as needed. Adjust the steam flow to your desired level with the steam regulator (9,d) For permanent steam function press the lock button (1) and slide backwards until it locks (g). To switch off the permanent steam, slide the lock button forward. When starting the ironing session or when you have not used the steam function for some time, the steam still present in the supply hose will condense into water. This may cause some spluttering in the appliance and a few drops of water may come out from the sole plate. Before starting ironing just hold the iron over a cloth and press the steam control button until the steam production has normalised.

Vertical steam

Hanging curtains and clothes (jackets, suits, coats) can be steam-ironed to remove wrinkles. Set the temperature selector within the red section (d). Hold the iron with activated steam function in vertical position and pass over the material in up and down movements. Caution: The steam is very hot. Never direct the steam towards a person.

Trouble-shooting guide

Hold the iron over a cloth and press the steam control button until the steam production has normalised. Select the required ironing temperature (red section of temperature selector). Turn down the steam regulator. Press on the switch for steam function (7). Press the steam control button Remark: Sometimes hot steam is hardly visible especially when the room temperature is high or the iron temperature is near to max. Turn up the steam regulator. After pressing the switch for steam function (7) wait until the orange light goes off (about 8 minutes). Check if the water low indicator is on. Flush the boiler with tap water. Add distilled water to the tap water.

Filling the boiler

Remark: The steam boiler is equipped with a safety cap (5) which can only be unscrewed after the pressure inside the steam boiler has reduced to a minimum. When the steam boiler is empty, the water low indicator (6,h) will light up. To refill proceed as follows: Turn off the switch for the steam function (7,h). Press the steam control button (2) until you no longer hear any steam escaping from the iron. Open the safety cap (5) of the steam boiler. Caution: The safety cap, the steam boiler and especially the iron stand are hot. Notice: In case of too much pressure you cant open the safety cap of steam boiler (5). Wait a moment or repeat the previous operation. Unplug (h). Wait 2-3 minutes to allow the boiler to cool down. Slowly refill the boiler with water using the funnel (h). No steam at all

Switch off the appliance by turning off the switch for the steam function (7) and the on/off switch (8). Unplug and let it cool down before storing. Water can remain in the boiler. Subject to change without notice. This product conforms to the EMC-Directive 89/336/EEC and to the Low Voltage Regulation 73/23 EEC.

Maintenance and cleaning

Before cleaning or maintenance always make sure that the unit is unplugged and has cooled down. To clean the sole plate of the iron, use steel wool (i). Then wipe the sole plate clean with a cloth. Never use scouring pads, vinegar nor other chemicals. To clean handle and steam boiler use a damp cloth. To maintain efficient performance empty the boiler and flush with tap water every 1 to 2 months, depending on the amount of calcium in your tap water. Never empty the boiler when the water is still hot.
