Please read these use instructions carefully before use and keep them for future reference. Important Plug your appliance into an alternating current outlet only and make sure that your household voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the appliance. This appliance must never be used near water (e.g. a filled wash basin, bathtub or shower). Do not allow the appliance to get wet. For additional protection, it is advisable to install a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA in the electrical circuit of your bathroom. Ask your installer for advice. This appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical or mental capabilities, unless they are given supervision by a person responsible for their safety. In general, we recommend that you keep the appliance out of reach of children. Avoid touching the hot parts of the appliance. When hot, do not place on surfaces that are not heat-resistant. Do not wrap the mains cord around the appliance. Regularly check the mains cord for wear or damage. If the cord is damaged, stop using the appliance and take it to an authorized Braun Service Centre. Unqualified repair work can lead to extreme hazards for the user. The appliance should be used on dry hair only. Be careful when using the appliance at maximum temperature.

satin ion Technology

The satin ion technology produces a rich stream of satin ions that hug every single hair. The ions calm hair, reducing frizz and static to reveal your hair's natural beauty and shine. When activating the satin ion button (5), a stream of ions surrounds your hair. The display shows satin ions [C] and a slight crackling noise can be heard.

Microprocessor supported styling
Thanks to its highly sophisticated microprocessor and its LCD control display, the Braun satinliner allows you to personalise your settings. Individual temperature choice: Using the temperature selection buttons (3), you can adjust the temperature in 5 C steps in a range between 130 C and 200 C. We recommend the following temperature settings. The higher the temperature setting, the faster you will get a sleek straightening result. When working with the maximum temperature setting, you should not treat the same strand more than once. Express heat up time: After only 30 seconds, the appliance is ready for use. C max booster: For handling difficult hair strands, you can 8

instantly boost the temperature by pushing the C max button (4). For 20 seconds, the appliance will heat up to the maximum temperature with the backlight flashing [D]. Afterwards, the appliance switches back to the previously selected temperature. Safety auto off: For safety reasons, the appliance automatically switches off after 30 minutes. Five minutes prior to switching off, the display shows Auto off [E] along with a red/green flashing backlight. If you want to keep on straightening, simply press the on/off button (6) again shortly. Memory function: In order to make your styling session as convenient and quick as possible, the appliance stores your last personalised settings for the next usage.

Getting started

Connect the appliance to an electrical outlet and push the on/off button (6) for 1 second to turn it on. During heat-up, the display turns red. The appliance is delivered with a default temperature setting of 160 C. The thermometer symbol is flashing as long as the displayed temperature is not reached. [A] After approx. 30 seconds, the display turns green indicating that the minimum styling temperature is reached. You can start using the appliance. As soon as the preset temperature is reached, the thermometer symbol stops flashing [B].

Styling

Preparation Make sure your hair is completely dry before using the appliance. First, comb your hair through with a wide toothed comb to remove tangles [G]. Section your hair off. Starting close to the roots, take a thin section of hair (strands of 34 cm maximum) and clamp it firmly between the styling plates [H]. How to straighten your hair Gently run the straightener through the entire length of the hair, slowly and steadily, from roots to the ends [I] without stopping for longer than 2 seconds. This will ensure best straightening results without damaging your hair. The styling plates (9) ensure easy and smooth gliding. For improved control when gliding along a strand, you may stabilise the appliance by holding it with the other hand on the cool touch points (1). You can create flicks at the hair ends by slowly turning the appliance either outwards or inwards before releasing a strand. How to form curls With the Braun satinliner, you can also create loose curls and waves (J): Clamp a strand at the roots, turn the appliance half a turn, then slowly move the appliance horizontally towards hair ends and the strand will turn into curl.
