The HL-1270N is designed print up to 12 ppm, includes a built-in print server, PostScript Level 2 emulation (BR-Script 2), 4MB of standard memory and an optional additional 250-sheet paper tray for a total paper capacity of 500 pages. The HL-1270N is a complete, network-ready business printer for small workgroups who need many of the features found in more expensive printers. It is designed to excel in mixed language environments and it is upgradable to 36MB. The HL-1270N comes network ready, right out of the box, with 10/100 Base TX Ethernet ... just turn the printer on, connect the network, configure the printer, and you are ready to print anywhere on the network. The HL-1270N supports all the major network operating systems available in the market today, including: Novell Netware (2.x, 3.x, 4.x and 5.x, Full NDS Support) Microsoft Windows NT Server (v3.1, 3.5x, and 4.0) Microsoft Windows 95 (Peer to Peer) Networking. In addition to the 10/100 Base TX Ethernet and IEEE-1284 Parallel support, USB is standard on the HL-1270N. Both PC and Macintosh USB support and drivers are included. The Brother HL-1270N printer and its software are fully compatible with personal computers running the Microsoft Windows or DOS operating systems, including Windows 3.1, 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0 systems. It also supports Macintosh and Mac OS compatible operating systems - including the newer iMac and G3/G4 computers. All these drivers are standard. Whether you are a corporate workgroup using Windows PC's, or a publishing company using MacOS, the HL-1270N comes standard with both PCL6 and PostScript Level 2 (BR-Script 2) emulations to ensure compatibility with most software packages. Having both emulations standard, users are virtually ensured that their application will print error free. With professional 1200 x 600 dpi graphics quality, it handles anything from small cardstocks to transparencies, postcards and labels with ease. Paper capacity is 250 sheets of letter size paper and the HL-1270N allows you to obtain optimum print quality on different media types, every time. An optional second paper cassette allows you to expand you paper capacity to 500 total sheets should the need arise. And if value is important, it produces documents at two cents or less per page!
