Scanning operations and the drivers used will differ depending on the operating system you are using. As default, the machine uses a TWAIN compliant driver when scanning documents from your applications. For Windows XP/Windows Vista Two scanner drivers are installed. A TWAIN compliant scanner driver (See TWAIN compliant on page 28) and a Windows Imaging Acquisition (WIA) driver (See Scanning a document using the WIA driver (For Windows XP/Windows Vista) on page 35). Windows XP/Windows Vista users can select either driver when scanning documents. Note For ScanSoft PaperPort 11SE, see Using ScanSoft PaperPort 11SE with OCR by NUANCE on page 49. If your PC is protected by a firewall and is unable to network scan, you may need to configure the firewall settings to allow communication through port number 137 and 54925. For more information, see Firewall settings (For Network users) on page 107. When you scan a document, you can either use the ADF(automatic document feeder) or the scanner glass. For more information on loading the documents, see Using the ADF(available for ADF models) and Using the scanner glass in the Users Guide.

This mode is more exact because it uses up to 256 shades of grey. 256 Colour Uses up to 256 colours to scan the image. 24 bit Colour Uses up to 16.8 million colours to scan the image. Although using 24 bit Colour creates an image with the most accurate colour reproduction, the image file size will be about three times larger than a file created using the 256 Colour option. cartridges that are quicker and easier to replace. Additionally because of the lighter printhead, the MFC-260C can run at a lower power level saving you money and is better for the environment.
Environmentally Friendly Features Separate Innobella ink cartridges
Brother colour Multi-Function Centres come complete with four separate colour Innobella LC37 ink cartridges with fade resistant Innobella inks. Unlike some other colour multi-function products, when a single colour runs out you only replace that colour. Another feature from Brother that saves you time and money and is better for the environment. The MFC-260C comes with a smaller droplet size of 1.5 picolitre. When used with genuine Brother BP61 glossy photo paper and Innobella LC-37 ink cartridges, the result is a higher quality print with better definition. International Standards: ISO 14001 As one of Australia's leading Multi-Function Centre manufacturers, Brother takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. Brother Multi-Function Centres are ISO 14001 compliant meaning that they are manufactured in accordance to international environmental standards. Cartridge Recycling Brother is proud to be a Major Sponsor of the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark recycling program. This Australia wide program recycles printer cartridges with zero waste to landfill, guaranteed. Brother are committed to supporting initiatives which help to ensure the long term sustainability of the environment.
Capillary Tube Printing Technology
