This is a very high-quality circular polarizer for any lens with a filter diameter of 72 mm. I used it for a day, but I really love it. At this price to get a binocular from a company like Nikon is really great.

I use the SkyScout primarily down on my farm where there is no artificial light at night. The viewing is optimal there on a clear night. These binoculars are great for the price, a little heavy and the neck strap is light duty. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and BeachCamera. [...

awsome binocs for the price these binocs are awesome.i love them. the only reason i gave them a four is because the lens covers fall off. A "must have" to protect the lens. Excellent clear filter. No distortion, no flare, and is a quality filter(what one would expect from Nikon).

I bought this product before my trip to Grand Canyon. For that price I paid (around $60) it works very nice. Overall, I am happy using this product.

Do not do business with this company unless you want to get ripped off. I purchased a Bushnell holographic sight from them for $238.99. The 10-22x50 Zoom model is intended for both lowlight viewing at the shorter end of the zoom as well as distant observations in better conditions. Works well with my Nikon 18-200 lens, even on top of my B&W UV filter.

I like this picture viewer. I bought it for my 84 year-old mom who is technologically illiterate, and I love the idea that you can set it up. We purchased 7 of these for Christmas presents and they are wonderful, especially for the price.

The CS440XD is a lightweight professional format metal detector. A variable discrimination control (16) can be adjusted so that the detector does not react to some types of metal which are likely to be worthless. The CS440XD is extremely easy to use but you will be better at using your detector if you take the time to read this manual carefully and understand what the controls are doing.
CS440XD - Rapid get you going instructions
Assemble and adjust for length. Twist surplus lead around the stem. Insert battery so that the terminals line up easily with the contacts in the battery compartment. (9volt MN1604 ) Switch on and rotate Sensitivity Control (14) to the start of the green section on the scale. Rotate the Discrimination Control (16) to the green position on the scale. Press the Retune button (15) once. Start searching using a relaxed motion swinging the search-head from side to side as close to the ground as possible. Press the Retune button (15) every few minutes or whenever the background tone rises to an unacceptable level. You are now searching in minimal discrimination mode. The presence of a metal target will be indicated by the increasing intensity of the tone. Signals from small ferrous rubbish will be ignored.

CS440MXD_Manual.indd 2

10/5/07 11:09:52
The controls and what they do (14) The on/off/sensitivity control switches the machine on and sets the sensitivity level. The detector sensitivity should normally be set at the point of threshold, that is the point at which a background tone is just about audible. The point of threshold will be found within the green area on the scale. The threshold point should be set with the detector head held just above the surface of the ground. Switch the detector on, with the retune button (15) pressed. Rotate the control further until the background tone from the speaker is just audible. This is known as thepoint of threshold. Release the retune button (15). The threshold point will be found on the green area of the scale. In severe ground conditions (wet salt beach or mining areas for example) it may be necessary to reduce sensitivity to below the point of threshold in order to achieve stable operation. (16) Variable Discrimination control. The CS440XD can ignore the signals from some metals which are likely to be worthless. Small iron objects like building nails are the main source of false signals, especially on farmland sites. The CS440XD can be set to ignore these signals so you dont waste time digging up rubbish. When the Discrimination control is at 0 this is called All-Metal Mode and all metals are detected. The ground penetrating capability of the detector is greatest at this setting. Turn the control to the recommended setting (marked green on the scale 2 - 5) and signals from small iron objects are ignored but at slightly reduced depth. Turn the control further (5 - 10) and more classes of metal target are ignored, such as larger iron pieces and some aluminium based alloys at the top of the scale. However, high levels of discrimination are not recommended for general detecting purposes, due to the reduced depth penetration and also because some valuable items (thin section hammered coins and some rings) may fall into the same category as rubbish and not be detected. (15) Retune Push-button. The purpose of the Retune push-button is to keep the detector working at peak performance by maintaining the point of threshold set on the sensitivity control. For example, moving from dry ground to wet ground may cause the background tone to gradually increase to an unacceptable level. Pressing the retune button momentarily will bring the background tone to the point of threshold again. If the retune button fails to have this effect, it is probably necessary to re-set the sensitivity level. It is good detecting practice to press the retune button every few minutes or whenever you feel that that the detector may have drifted away from its sensitivity setting. Assembly: Join the two stem sections (5)(2) together. Wind the search-head lead (9) around the stem as shown in the photograph. Adjust the stem for length according to your height (its easier on your back if you can stand up straight while detecting) and tighten the twistlock stem adjuster (6). Check that the search-head (7) is parallel to the ground when being swept in an arc and tighten (be careful not to over-tighten) the search-head retaining screw (8). (Keep these parts clean - if they become covered in mud or sand wash and dry these parts at the end of a days detecting. Dont allow any form of lubricant onto the rubber friction washers.) Battery: Push back the retaining clip and remove the cover (13) of the battery compartment (12). Fit a 9 volt battery (MN1604, PP3 or equivalent). There are guide strips to ensure the battery is fitted the right way round. Do not force the battery. It should slide in easily to connect with contact strips in the compartment. Remove the battery if the detector is to be stored for more than a few days. Searching Technique: Sweep the detector head from side to side in a smooth arc. Move forward at each sweep the width of the search-head (20cms). Keep the search-head as close to the ground as possible, even at the ends of the arc where there is a natural tendency for the search-head to lift. Maintain a strict search pattern so that the area being searched is completely covered. (You will be more successful if you cover a small area of ground thoroughly than if you search a large area of ground in random fashion. The CS440XD nonmotion electronic system is most suited to a careful detecting technique). When you encounter

CS440MXD_Manual.indd 3

a signal, move the search-head slowly around the area. The signal is strongest when the target is directly below the centre of the search-head. Remove the clod of earth where the signal appeared using a sharp digging tool. Check further by passing the search-head over the clod to see if the target is there or deeper in the hole. Replace the earth after recovery of the object and it should be difficult to see that the ground has been disturbed. Do not trespass. Ask permission before searching on private land. Check for local bylaws about detecting on public land. Not all countries have such a positive attitude towards treasure hunting as we have in the UK. Observe the Country Code. Fill in all holes. Report all valuable or historically interesting finds to the appropriate authority. Do not touch any item suspected of being unexploded munitions - mark its position and report to the police immediately. Accessories Contact C.Scope or your local detector supplier for a range of C.Scope accessories. Headphones: make it easier to hear weak signals and increase battery life. The headphone socket is underneath the control box (11). Search-head cover: protect the underside of the search-head from abrasion damage. Extends the life of the search-head. Rechargeable batteries. Digging Tools. Detector Bags. Detector Care The CS440XD is a robust design. However, the control box should be treated with similar care as any electronic product. Dry off any water splashes immediately. The search-head may be immersed in water. Stem and search-head parts should be washed with tap water and dried at the end of a days detecting. Do not use solvents. Warranty & Service The CS440XD is guaranteed free of manufacturing defects as confirmed in our written warranty document. Contact us if you have any concerns about the operation of your detector. The C.Scope Customer Service Team really know about metal detectors and are always ready with good advice and rapid after-sales-service.

Discover the thrill of metal detecting with the C.Scope

CS440XD, CS1MX, CS770XD

his is treasure island United Kingdom, 100,000 square miles of ground where millions of people have lived their daily lives over thousands of years and the last 4000 of those years they have been making things of metal - money, jewellery, tools, weapons, - in massive quantities - where has it all gone? A little of it is still in use, of course. There are plenty of metal objects around from the last few hundred years, but what about before that? Some will have been melted down to be used again, some is lost under the concrete of our cities and roads, some has already been found; but the vast majority of those tons of metal coins and artefacts from long ago remains in the ground, waiting to be discovered by todays treasure hunters. Every ancient road over every mountain, every footpath through every forest, every field and pasture where people once lived contains the treasures of long ago. People lose things, sometimes quite valuable things and one mans loss is another mans gain in the world of treasure hunting. People throw things away - its rubbish to them, but treasure to the finder a thousand years later. Houses and entire villages once stood in places where now there are open fields. There would have been markets, money changing hands, and of course the losses which, unfortunately, can happen at any time. Battles have raged in countryside which is now tranquil and safe, arrows and spears, buttons, badges, buckles and money lie in the ground where they fell all those years ago. Cut-throats and thieves were about, your valuables were always at risk. The safest thing to do was bury your money and some of it, for whatever reason, is still right there where it was hidden hundreds of years ago. This is what our hobby is all about - If you like to get out into the countryside, if its a thrill for you to discover the past, you are going to be hooked on treasure hunting. These serious C.SCOPE metal detectors make the hobby easy to follow for everyone. C.SCOPE metal detectors have no learning curve. We have designed these professional quality detectors so that anyone can set off on the treasure trail in as much time as it takes to fit the batteries. The treasures are waiting to be found and all you need to get started is a C.SCOPE METAL DETECTOR.
the thrill of treasure hunting
This Edward III Gold Double Florin was found by a detectorist in the south of England. Issued in 1343, it was estimated to fetch around 150,000. It is only the third example to be found (the other two are in the British Museum), so it is also the only one in private hands. The coin was auctioned by Spinks and achieved a record breaking price of 460,000 !!
This is a part of the Reigate Hoard found by Roger Mintey. It consisted of several thousand coins - arguably the best metal detector coin find ever.
Cliff Bradshaw found this Bronze Age Gold Cup in a field near Sandwich using his C.Scope metal detector. It was a tremendously important find which sold for 170K - shared with the landowner.

Switch on and start detecting. Listen to the loudspeaker signals. Good targets are high tones. Bad targets give a low tone. It seems like such a simple idea but isnt this every treasure hunters dream of a detector? The CS770XD employs C.Scopes non-motion technology, much favoured by professionals for the meticulous search technique which is possible with this style of detector. The CS770XD is optimised for inland and beach use. The CS770XD is such a smart concept, we reckon a fair few detectorists at all levels of the hobby will be eager to get their hands on one.
f you are just starting out in the hobby, one of these smart new C.Scopes is going to be just the job. Each one is carefully thought out for ease of operation with maximum performance. C.Scope is THE name in metal detectors. A name you can trust. Our designs are clever yet straightforward and based on 30+ years of concentrated involvement in the treasure hunting hobby. Excellent detectors at low prices are quite simply what make C.Scope the top choice for beginners and professional treasure hunters alike.
C.Scope. Top choice for the beginner.
