Note: Reinforcement plates must be installed inside trunk for safe operation. 1. Lower vehicle exhaust and support muffler assembly with wire or jack to prevent excess travel, which could be damaging to the exhaust system. 2. Open trunk and pull back the carpeting to expose the trunk pan. (Vehicles with optional factory CD player located in trunk requires temporary repositioning to install reinforcement plates. 3. From under the vehicle drill (1) 1/2" hole through the center of each frame rail flange, 2" in from the end of the frame. (Both Sides) 4. Using hole drilled in Step 3, center reinforcement plate in vehicle trunk and use as a template to drill (3) remaining holes. (Both Sides) 5. Install 7/16" carraige bolts through reinforcement plate, trunk pan, and frame flange. Secure 7/16" flange nuts to carraige bolts. 6. Restore carpeting in trunk to original position. 7. Remove the bottom outboard E.A. bolt and inboard E.A. bolt from both sides. Return the bolts to the vehicle owner. 8. Fishwire a CM-SP10 spacer and 1/2-13 carriage bolt through the access hole on the inside of the frame rail and then through hole in bottom of frame. Leave fishwires attached. (See Fishwire Technique.) 9. Raise the hitch into position between the E.A. unit and the exhaust hanger and install the 5/16" hex bolts, washers and flange nuts as shown. Feed the 1/2" fishwires through the slots in the mounting strap, taking care not to push the carriage bolts into the frame rails. Note: Bend the trunk pan tabs as shown to eliminate interference. (See Trunk Pan Modification.) 10. Remove the fishwires from the 1/2" carriage bolts in the frame rails and secure the hitch to the frame rails with 1/2" hex flange nuts as shown. 11. Torque all 5/16" hardware to 17 ft-lbs. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 75 ft-lbs. 12. Raise exhaust to original position.

CADILLAC ELDORADO 1996-2002 CADILLAC SEVILLE 1996-1997
1 Disconnect the negaive battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 2 Remove C-clip on forward facing side of shift knob and pull and remove knob. (Figure A) 3 Remove (2) 9/32 screws on each side of the ashtray assembly and (1) in the middle underneath ashtray insert. (Figure B) 4 Insert a small flat blade screwdriver in between the radio and the switch panel at top of radio and pry up and out to remove switch panel. (Figure C) 5 Remove (4) 9/32 screws (2) from the top (Figure D) and (2) from the bottom to remove radio. (Figure E) 6 Remove the (2) retaining nuts securing the radio and climate control to the factory bracket assembly and slide the climate control outward. (Figure F) Continue to kit preparation.

3 Attach the double DIN brackets to the double DIN radio housing. (Figure C) 4 Slide the climate control assembly into the bracket/housing assembly and attach with the factory hardware. (Figure C) Continue to kit assembly.

95-2005B KIT PREPARATION CADILLAC DEVILLE 2000-Cadillac Deville 2000-2005 : Remove all tabs from the radio housing top. (Figure A) 2 Attach the double DIN brackets to radio housing. Leave all side tabs on the double DIN brackets attached, but cut plastic armiture off below on each bracket at bottom, both sides. (Figure B) 3 When installing the 95-2005 assembly into the sub dash use the supplied (4) Phillips screws and mount in the locations shown. (Figure C) Continue to kit assembly. A

NOTE: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio. 1 Slide the Double DIN or stacked ISO mount units into the bracket/radio housing assembly and secure the Double DIN or stacked ISO mount units to the assembly using the screws supplied with the Double DIN or stacked ISO mount units. Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.) Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly.

FINAL WIRING CONNECTIONS

Make wiring connections using the EIA color code chart shown below and the instructions included with the head unit. Metra recommends making connections as shown below; Strip, Splice, Solder, Tape.
