The SD900 is a fantastic camera. If you needed IS (image stabilization), you should have bought a camera with image stabilization. Instead. There are many posts on the net about all the... Smooth and nice looking frame, easy to use Unrealiable. Lens error big problem with this camera

I was choosing between the Canon SD800 and this camera. Love this camera. Love titanium body! Image quality is superb. I had A400 and got stolen and this is a major upgrade for me.

Do not buy this camera! Do not buy it or any model like it. The lens design is bad and gets jammed easily and it is usually permanent. Good camera but not sure about the build quality It worked fine for a year but stopped working 2 weeks after the warranty expired.

I had the S series 4MP one beforr the SD900 & that was good. But this one WOW its nice it performs exellent. very compact easy to use and takes great shots......only drawback that i can think of is when the camera tells u have a low battery.....

I look forward to eventually getting all the accessories for it. : ) Compact, great picture quality, user friendly. I would also recommend buying a 2 GB or even a 4 GB memory card. The higher the GB, the more you will be able to video record. I have had four Canon cameras, the G6 being my last, and this is the best of all of them. None so far.

I agree entirely with the previous review and believe that if you want decent digital pictures you have to go the -expensive- DSLR road. However.

The SD900 offers an elegant design, takes decent pictures, and captures high-res video, but is it worth the high price tag?

Canons PowerShot SDsqueezes 10-megapixel resolution and a 3X optical zoom into a curvy, titanium body. This champagne-colored digicam looks stylish and feels solid. At 6.7 ounces and 1.1 inches thick, it easily t into our pocket. Our only complaint about the appearance is how easily the SD900 smudges. After only a few minutes of handling, the camera was loaded with ngerprints. The 2.5-inch LCD is bright and fills most of this digicams rear. Unlike many point-and-shoots weve recently tested, Canon included an optical viewfinder, which is nice if you prefer to shoot more traditionally (and save on battery life in the process). All of the controls are on the right side of the LCD. We found switching modes and tweaking settings to be fairly simple. The SD900 includes 11 scene modes, ranging from Kids & Pets to Aquarium. We tested several of these and were satised with the results. You can adjust the white balance, exposure, and ISO sensitivity, but beginners will be satised with the default Auto mode. On our tests, the SD900 produced decent images with accurate color saturation. Noise wasnt an issue until we tried to shoot in low light and cranked the ISO up to 1600. At this high setting, details began to blur and images became grainy. On the other hand, almost every digicam weve tested develops a fair amount of pixelation above ISO 800. The startup time and time between shots were fairly speedy. We didnt experience more than a two-second delay when shooting images in rapid succession. Turning on the ash slowed things down by about a second.

The SD900 also captures acceptable 30-fps VGA clips and clear 15-fps XGA movies. You cant zoom while lming in higher-denition, but we had no problem getting closer in Standard mode. The Canon PowerShot SD900 packs a lot of megapixels into a good-looking design. And while it produced good results, we prefer the 10-MP HP Photosmart R967
and the Casio Exilim EX-Z1000, both of which offer the same or better performance for less money. Anthony Losanno
