Found the MFC-7840w at Newegg during one of their promotions. Compact, fast and good quality I use the printer on a wireless network using an Apple Airport Extreme router and mixed Macs and PCs.

This is no a 1 year printer. Most printers I have usually kill after a year especially all-in-ones. we were looking for a all in one laser printer and choose this one due to the features price and warranty.

I needed an inexpensive multi-function, all in one printer. While Brother is not a brand name like HP, it has everything that I need - printer.
jrvarma 8:17am on Monday, May 10th, 2010
I finally broke down and bought a laser printer. It will save me tons being a college student. I kick myself for not doing it a lot sooner. Toner life is usually outstanding, the one unit we got has not -- thus far -- lived up to being as economical to run as is the norm. This printer is absolutely astonishing! Does the job beautifully and as well faster than inkjet in printing and quality.

Ive used a print server for printers in our home before, and setting them up can be a daunting task. This was super easy to setup. Used as network printer (wired 10/100 connection). Work perfectly with window XP/7(both 32bit and 64bits) and Linux (SUSE 11.

No Problem With This Multi-Function Printer I have this Brother multi-function printer connected wirelessly to two Mac desktops and two Mac laptops.

Have only used a few times. Very pleased with the wireless ability and scanning to PC. Easy automation, from either PC or scanner. Shipping was free. Set-up is not really simple, you need to read the owners manual, then it goes quickly.

Downloading Still Images/Movies (ImageBrowser)
Below explains the procedure for connecting a camcorder to a computer using the USB cable. For connecting a PC card reader/writer, see Using a PC Card Reader/Writer ( 71). Observe following precautions when the camcorders card access indicator is flashing (the camcorder is reading or writing from or to the memory card). Failure to do so may cause memory card data to become corrupted. Do not remove the memory card or detach the USB cable. Do not turn off the camcorder or the computer. Do not change the position of the POWER switch or the TAPE/ CARD switch. Format the memory card with the camcorder or from the Camera Window ( 73). Still images/movies recorded onto the memory card or downloaded to the hard disk are important original data files. Create a copy of the file first before working on it on your computer.
