Canon ZR80 Mini DV Camcorder Setup
1. To charge the battery, plug the power pack into an outlet and the DC IN port on the camera located below the battery on the back of the camera (only plug in and unplug when camera is off)
2. To insert Mini DV Tape, slide the OPEN/EJECT switch on the bottom of the camera which will release the cover (photo on the left), pull open the cover until it clicks and the *cassette department will automatically pop out (photo on the right). Insert the tape, push the PUSH mark on the cassette compartment until it clicks, and the *cassette compartment will automatically go back in. Then close the cover. a. *Do not try to push or pull the area of the cassette labeled with the warning!
Recording
1. Remove the lens cap 2. Set the camcorder to CAMERA (left photo) a. Flip the power switch on the right side of the camcorder up to CAMERA 3. Slide the OPEN Switch on the left side of the camcorder for the LCD screen and pull open the screen the rest of the way (middle photo) 4. Press the red button on the back right side of the camcorder to start recording, press again to pause recording. 5. To Zoom in or out, turn and hold the W-T lever on the top of the camcorder. T = Zoom in, W = Zoom out. (right photo) Playback
1. Set the camcorder to PLAY(VCR) (far right photo) a. Flip the power switch on the right side of the camcorder down to PLAY(VCR) 2. Slide the OPEN switch on the left side of the camcorder for the LCD screen and pull open the screen the rest of the way (middle photo) 3. Press the REWIND button on the on the left side of the camcorder to rewind the tape (buttons are shown in far left photo) 4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback 5. Press the STOP button to stop playback
