Instruction 2: Variants LS3, LS3-a, LS3-all ser. no.s, including the following LS3 ser. no.s with winglets: 3053, 3061, 3092 and 3338. All further LS3, LS3-a or LS3-17 models, retrofitted with winglets, are NOT included. : Instruction 1: Prior to the next maintenance or next annual inspection, latest August 31. 2010 Instruction 2: none, optional : 1. For the variants LS3, LS3-a, LS3-17 the maintenance manuals have been transformed in a new standardized format. By doing this manuals of the variants LS3, LS3-a, LS3-17 have been combined into one manual. Due to the new format most information is to be found on different pages than in the initial manuals. Therefore it is necessary to replace all pages and not only pages with amendments. The manual has been updated to the latest level of knowledge. 2. The max. service time of the variants LS3, LS3-a, LS3-17 was limited to 6000 hours.

Instructions

: 1. Replace all pages of the existing maintenance manual against the maintenance manual for the sailplane LS3 issued December 2009. Those manual pages or other documents which have been changed with regards to contents are listed in the amendments list of the respective manual. The new or amended text will be indicated by a black vertical line at the right hand margin of the revised page and should be regarded. 2. The max. service time is increased to 12000 hours. The amended maintenance pages for the variants LS3, LS3-a, LS3-17 are enclosed in the maintenance manual revision see 1. Inspection procedure for increase of service time see MM section 3.3.

: Maintenance manual LS3 issued December 2009. The manual has to be ordered from the TC holder DG Flugzeugbau GmbH. This manual is only valid for the aircraft ser.no. printed on the cover page.

: The instruction 1 may be executed by the pilot/owner himself and is to be inspected and entered in the aircraft logs by a licensed inspector at latest with the next annual inspection. Instruction No. 2: 1. EASA countries: The actions have to be performed in a Part -145 approved organisation, or in a Part M, Subpart F approved organisation according to the regulations of the Part M and released according to M.A.801. 2. Non EASA countries The actions have to be performed in a licensed workshop. All instructions are to be inspected and entered in the aircraft logs by a licensed inspector. In accordance with general aviation practise and additionally for EASA countries according to part M M.A.401 maintenance or annual inspections are only allowed to be carried out if the current manuals are readily available for use. In parallel to the manual revision EASA will publish a new TCDS EASA.A.095 with the type designation LS Sailplanes which combines the LBA TCDSs 262, 317, 345, 357 and 375 for all variants of LS1, LS3. LS4, LS6 and LS7. The miscellaneous changes to the contents of the latest amendments to the original maintenance manuals which are in these revision will not be appended to the original manuals. The same applies for all future changes. The service time of the one of a kind variants LS3-ake and LS3-a ser. No. 3400 (LS3-std) may be increased accordingly. The service time of the one of a kind variant LS3-V1 cant be increased. Special Italy and manual Editions for LS3-a and LS3-17 are not longer valid. The information is included in the manual revision see instruction 1.
