The Casio TE-M80 is a compact entry-level cash register, with a high-speed thermal printer and a range of useful features that make it ideal for the small business retail environment.
Receipt or journal printer
The TE-M80 features a fast, 58mm wide thermal printer. To give your business a professional appearance, the printer can print words as well as numbers, allowing you to print a standard customer message and to have accurate department descriptions print on the customers receipt. With easy drop-in paper loading for roll replacement, the TE-M80 ensures fast and efficient operation.
Reports and useful functions

Display

A bright 8 digit display, means your staff can easily see the price of the items they are selling, improving sale accuracy. An 8 digit rear display ensures your customers can see the price they are paying, giving them peace of mind.

Calculator function

The TE-M80 features a useful calculator function. By simply turning the mode key, the numeric keys on the cash register can be used like a calculator for making more complex calculations. The calculator function can also be used whilst in the middle of a transaction, with the calculated figure being imported back into the transaction.

Help function

To allow you to accurately categorise the products that you sell, the TE-M80 features 15 product departments (3 shifts). So when you sell an item, for example ice cream, this can be allocated to a frozen foods department. 2. MACHINE INTIALIZATION

2-1. Initialization and loading memory protection battery
Note: You must initialize the cash register and install the memory protection batteries before you can program the cash register. To initialize the cash register 1. 2. 3. 4. Set the mode switch to OFF. Plug the power cord of the cash register into an AC outlet. Load the memory protection batteries. Set the mode switch to REG.

To load the memory protection batteries 1. Remove the printer cover. 2. Press down on the oval just behind the printer paper inlet, and slide the battery compartment cover toward the back of the cash register. 3. Load 3 new UM-3, R6P (SUM-3) or LR6 (AM-3) type batteries into the compartment. Be sure that the plus (+) and minus () ends of each battery are facing in the directions indicated by the illustrations inside the battery compartment. 4. Slide the memory protection battery compartment cover back into place. 5. Replace the printer paper and printer cover. REPLACE MEMORY PROTECTION BATTERIES AT LEAST ONCE EVERY YEAR.

You can select the default printing language depending on the requirements in your area. Example: Change the language to Spanish. 1. Set the mode switch to PGM. 2. Press the following keys.

6. DIAGNOSTIC OPERATION

To start the diagnostic program
ECR enters the diagnostic mode by the following operation. 1 Turn the mode key to PGM. 2 Input 99990000 and #2 (SUB TOTAL). Upon the above operation ECR prints the following and issues a receipt. * Note that the test mode will not boot if once a receipt has been issued in the REG/RF/X/Z mode. In this case, remove the battery and perform the above operation again. <Header is printed> <When issuing a receipt, FEED> <Version is printed> <When issuing a receipt, FEED> 6-1. 7. TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom/Problem 7 E01 appears on the display. When the printer does not print properly. No date or time on receipt. Paper is not advancing enough. Key wont turn to Z, X, PGM and RF modes. Drawer opens up after ringing up only one time. Not clearing totals at end of day after taking report. Programming is lost whenever register is unplugged or there is a power outage. Register is inoperative. Cant get money out of drawer. Printer is programmed as a journal. Using OP key. Department is programmed as a single item dept. Using X mode to take out reports. Bad or no batteries. Most common causes Changing modes without completing transaction. Solutions Return key to where it stops buzzing and press CA/AMT. /TEND Check the platen arm/shut down and close it firmly. Program printer to print receipts. Use the PGM key. Program the dept. as a normal dept. Use Z mode to take out reports. Put in new batteries.
