1. PRECAUTIONS

1. When the inside of the car is very cold and the player is used soon after switching on the heater, moisture may form on the disc or the optical parts of the player and proper playback may not be possible. If moisture forms on the disc, wipe it off with a soft cloth. If moisture forms on the optical parts of the player, do not use the player for about one hour and the condensation will disappear naturally to allow normal operation. 2. Driving on extremely bumpy roads which cause severe vibration may cause the sound to skip. 3. This unit uses a precision mechanism. Even in the event that trouble arises, never open the case, disassemble the unit, or lubricate the rotating parts. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

iPod Compatibility - iPod Video Output
The newest generation of iPods (6 Gen Classic, 3 Gen Nano, Touch and iPhone) require specialized hardware to enable the video output. Clarion is developing this hardware and will offer it in the future. If you would like to watch video from these units, please use the Visual input on your Multimedia Station along with the Apple Composite A/V Cable.
iPod Compatibility - iPhone Connection
The iPhone can be controlled by Clarion source units when the following instructions are followed: 1. 2. 3. 4. Connect the iPhone to your Clarion source unit using the Dock Connector. The iPhone will display a message saying Accessory Attached. The iPhone will then ask if you want to enter Airplane Mode to which you should select No. You may now select iPod from the source menu of your Clarion Source unit.
iPod Compatibility - iPod Touch Connection
The iPod Touch needs to be in the Locked position to. When prompted, do not activate the Slide to Unlock function.
iPod Compatibility - iPod Video on Multimedia Stations
Clarion Multimedia stations allow for iPod video playback. Here are a few notes that should be observed when demonstrating, installing and operating this combination. The Parking Brake (Light green wire) must be set, released and set again to allow Video to be displayed on the screen of a Clarion Multimedia Station. This includes iPod Video Playback. The yellow composite video connector on the CCA673 cable must be connected to the yellow Visual Input connector on the rear of a Clarion Mutlimedia Station.
As Apple does not provide a means to control (select or start) video playback remotely, your Clarion Multimedia Stations will relinquish control over the iPod when video is selected. Select and start the video / podcast you want to view manually.
