Dehumidification settings in increments of 5% RH. Timer: Allows you to initiate the auto-on or auto-off timer. Each subsequent depression of the Timer button with increase the timer length in increments or 0.5hrs up to 10 hours and by 1.0hr increments up to 24 hours. The AutoTimer setting may be cancelled at any time by pressing the remote control Power button. F/C: Alternates the display mode of the temperature between Fahrenheit and Celsius on the display panel of the unit (only)

To operate the hand held remote control you will require two AAA Alkaline batteries (included ). Batteries should be replaced when: a) No signal (beep) is heard when attempting to program the main unit. b) The main unit does not respond to a command issued by the remote control. Battery replacement: 1. Slide the lower front cover on the remote in the direction of the arrow. Continue pulling (gently) until the cover separates completely from the unit. 2. Insert (2) batteries (AAA) following the same orientation (polarity) depicted inside the battery chamber.(+/-) 3. Re-install the front cover. 4. If the remote control will not be used for extended periods of time (vacations etc.), batteries should be removed. Any obstruction between the receiver and remote may cause signal interference, limiting the ability to program the main unit.

Dehumidifier

The operating mode can be defined before the unit is switched On by depressing the Mode button (ensure the power cord is connected), and defining the desired operating mode while the control panel remains illuminated (approximately 5 seconds). 1) In high humidity conditions, in order to extend the period of uninterrupted use, ensure that the internal bucket is empty (Fig A) before starting the dehumidifying mode. 2) Depress the Mode button on the control panel until the Dehumidifier icon is displayed in the LCD screen (Fig B). 3) Select the desired humidity level from 35% RH ~ 80% RH by depressing either the increase ( ) or decrease ( ) buttons on the control panel. To select continuous instead of defining a specific humidity level, press the increase or decrease button until the - - symbol appears in the set humidity display portion of the LCD, as shown in Fig. C 4) Define the required fan speed (High/Low) by depressing the fan speed button. 5) Activate the power button to start the unit in Dehumidifier mode at your specified settings.

Humidifier

The operating mode can be defined when the unit is On or in Standby. The following steps are provided assuming the unit is in standby mode. 1) Open the upper rear panel and locate the internal reservoir fill cap. Proceed to remove the fill cap (fig E.) from the reservoir. 2) Slowly fill the internal water reservoir with fresh clean water until the Water Level Display illuminates all four status bars to signify the tank is full (as shown in Fig G). 3) Replace the fill cap and close the upper rear panel. If you have removed the water tank during the fill process ensure that the handle on the internal reservoir has been returned to its original position - flat against the bucket. 4) Depress the Mode button on the control panel until the Humidifier icon is displayed in the LCD screen (Fig H). 5) Select the desired humidity level from 35% RH ~ 80% RH by depressing either the increase ( ) or decrease ( )buttons on the control panel. Air Purification

The Air Purification mode is used to increase air quality by reducing common household odors and allergens such as pollen, pet dander and dust. Air purification can operate individually or in conjunction with either the Dehumidifying or Humidifying modes. Fig J
Starting the Air Purification mode. 1) Depress the Mode button on the control panel until the Air Purification icon is displayed in the LCD screen (Fig J). 2) When required, you can operate the Air Purification mode simultaneously with the Dehumidifier or Humidifier by continually pressing the MODE button until the required combination of operating mode icons appear in the LCD display. For example, Air Purification/Dehumidifier (Fig K) or Air Purification/Humidifier (Fig L). 3) If you have selected the Air Purification mode to operate in conjunction with another mode, proceed to define the operating parameters for the selected operation. (Please refer to Dehumidifier on pg 9 or Humidifier on pg 10 for instructions). 4) Select the required fan speed (High/Low) by depressing the fan speed button. Please note: While operation the Air Purification mode simultaneously with another mode, the fan speed selection will be the same in all operating modes.

5) Depress the power button to start the unit in Air Purification mode at your specified settings.
Do not attempt to operate the Air Purification mode in places such as a kitchen, garage, or work shed as airborn grease and oil particles are common in these environments and can damage the appliance. Do not attempt to run the Air Purification mode without the filter in place.
The Air Purification filter cannot be cleaned, and therefore must be replaced. The Air Purification filter should be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending upon usage and/or conditions. Replace the Air Purification filter only with one that was specifically designed for use with this appliance. Replacement filters are available from the retailer that the unit was purchased from, as well as any Danby authorized parts distibution center. BOILER CHAMBER

WARNING - Do not attempt to clean the boiler chamber immediately after operating the unit in Humidification mode. 1. Open the top cover of the unit, and remove the internal tank with care. 2. Remove the Boiler cover and pull out the drain plug (Fig O) to allow any standing water to evacuate the chamber. 3. Clean the boiler chamber with a damp cloth.
4. Place a drip tray beneath the bottom drain and remove the small drain cap and plug located at the rear of the unit (Fig P) to drain out the remain ing water inside the appliance. 5. After completely drain ing the water from the unit replace the boiler chamber plug, drain plug and cap. 6. Replace the Boiler cover and internal water tank. * If Replace DMC Cartridge icon (pg. 7) is displayed: Press the Timer and Decrease button simultaneously on the control panel for 3 seconds to resume normal operation.

If service is performed on the units by anyone other than an authorized service depot, or the unit is used for commercial application, all obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be at an end.

(U.S.A), shall not be responsible for any damages to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction of the unit and by the purchase of the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and save harmless Danby Products Limited from any claim for damages to persons or property caused by the unit.
