Faster, more precise, higher performance: The new portable Delphi Grundig NAV210W and Delphi Grundig NAV210E navigation systems

The success story continues: With the Delphi Grundig NAV210W, Delphi is introducing to European drivers and consumers a successor to the trendsetting portable Delphi Grundig Nav100 navigation system. The new Delphi Grundig NAV210W represents one of the best possible blends of all technical components for a highperformance and advanced navigation system. In order to ensure accurate position finding, the Delphi Grundig NAV210W has been equipped with one of the best GPS receivers available on the market. Thanks to the so-called SiRF III technology, up to 20 satellites can be received, rendering navigation even more precise. Results come to the screen faster due to a high-performance 400 Mhz processor. The Delphi Grundig NAV210W is ready from the start without any pre-installation. A further key feature is that the system is TMC prepared. If the system is extended with an additional GNS (Global Navigation Systems) TMC module, information on traffic jams and obstructions is received automatically via the Traffic Message Channel (TMC a free-ofcharge radio data service) and processed rapidly in the Delphi Grundig NAV210W. The new Delphi Grundig NAV210W is also supplied with the most current NAVTEQ map data as well as with a further sophisticated tool for simple navigation, the Destinator Software 6.1.
An additional highlight is the optional Destinator 6 including the so-called TrafficSam. TrafficSam is one of the first portable navigation softwares to use the premium TMC services of TMCpro (Germany), Trafficmaster (United Kingdom) and ViaMichelin Trafic (France). For convenient traveling across Europe one can also use the conventional TMC data when the premium service is not available. The driver receives current and exact notifications about traffic jams and road obstructions very fast, alternative routes are being calculated automatically. Compared to normal free-of-charge TMC messages which are only updated via the traffic news channel on the radio, the premium TMC data is available automatically and much faster. Wrong information about traffic jams and unnecessary waiting time can be avoided. There is no monthly fee and additional telephone costs hereby incurred. The premium service is available as an optional update kit for a one time charge of a recommended retail price of 80.00. Thanks to the Delphi Grundig NAV210W, the country-specific route guidance options within Europe are virtually limitless, including real cross border navigation on the major roads of Europe. In addition, more than 2 million points of interest (i.e. Restaurants, Hotels, Sights, Gas Stations etc.) with detailed information such as telephone numbers, offer an extra benefit while travelling across the continent. The relevant domestic digitised road network plus those of the bordering regions are contained on a pre-installed 1GB SD card. For the users convenience, the detailed WestEuropean map data is also included on 2 CD-ROMs. The new Delphi Grundig NAV210W covers map data of 18 European countries and is available in 14 different languages (see details below). Further on, Delphi will also present an additional model, the Delphi Grundig NAV210E, which contains not only the Western European map data, but also Eastern European road networks in nine different languages. 28 countries are covered with the Delphi Grundig NAV210E. With its handy, flat-design Delphi Grundig NAV210W and Delphi Grundig NAV210E, the selected routes are clearly displayed in landscape format on the 3.5 full color LCD touch screen. The driver can choose between day and night mode on the navigation screen, and the backlighting of the Delphi Grundig NAV210W and Delphi Grundig NAV210E can be optimally adapted to the ambient light conditions. The route display can be viewed in either two or three-dimensions. The voice guidance directions can be obtained via the integrated loudspeaker, the headphone socket or the car audio system, thanks to an optional CDP adapter. The Delphi

systems are easily attached to the windscreen by means of a suction cup and a holder supplied with the unit. In addition to the sophisticated navigation features, the new Delphi systems have popular entertainment functionalities such as movie player, music player and picture viewer for use when not navigating. The popular entertainment features are accessed via optional secure digital (SD) cards. SD memory cards should be used to store media files such as video (avi), images (jpg, gif, png) and/or audio (mp3, wav) files. The entertainment features are also complemented by a world clock, calculator and game called Othello. From autumn 2006, the Delphi Grundig NAV210W will be available at German specialist retailers at a recommended selling price of approximately 429.00. The Delphi Grundig NAV210E will be available at a recommended selling price of 449.00. in early 2007. The optional GNS TMC module is available at a recommended selling price of 69.00 from January.
