The First Name In Digital Audio

AM/FM STEREO RECEIVER

DRA-375RD DRA-275R
Affordable Receivers with uncompromised DENON Quality.
The DRA-375RD and DRA-275R are DENON's latest receivers in the affordable class. The DRA-375RD features the Radio Data System (RDS) reception capability, and the DRA-275R now comes equipped with several features that had previously been available only in the higher-end version, such as Character Input, Auto Preset Memory, AM/FM 40-Station Random Preset, and Video and VCR terminals including two video inputs.

DRA-375RD

DRA-275R
Signal Level Divided Construction (SLDC) / Two Sets of Video, Inputs and Outputs / Radio Data System (RDS) / Radio Text (RT)

Solid, Reliable AMP

Signal Level Divided Construction (SLDC)
The circuits handling low-level and high-level signals have been divided into separate blocks to ensure that influences from these signals on each other are held to an absolute minimum. This new chassis design in the DRA-375RD/275R is called the Signal Level Divided Construction (SLDC). Signals for output are cleaner than before, allowing them to be reproduced with even greater fidelity and clarity.
High-Quality Power Amplifier Stage
Powerful high-speed transistors are used in a rational circuit configuration, reflecting DENON's advanced amplifier technology, to deliver a hefty, stable power output.
Two Sets of Video Inputs and Outputs
A new feature on a DENON receiver is the provision of video input and output terminals for you to connect a video device, such as a VCR or TV monitor. The DRA-375RD and DRA-275R include two sets of video input and output terminals (VCR, Video inputs and VCR, Monitor outputs).

Adjustable Loudness

Both of these receivers include a Variable Loudness equalization control which lets you select the most appropriate loudness setting at any volume.
Electronic Source Selection
Advanced electronic switches located close to the input terminals have replaced source selector-to-jack cables to further reduce sound quality deterioration.

Last Function Memory

When you turn off the power to either the DRA- 375RD or DRA-275R, the receiver automatically memorizes the settings, preserving the same condition for when you turn the receiver back on again.

3-Way Speaker Terminal

The speaker terminals on these receivers can accommodate banana plugs, spade plugs, or bare wire wrapping.

Program Service Name (PS)
The name of the station being received is shown on an 8-character display.

RDS Tuner Display (PS)

Program Type (PTY)
PTY lets you select from among 22 types of music and programs you want to listen to : Country, Jazz, Rock, Classical, Top 40, News, Sports, Talk, National Public Radio, and so on. A station broadcasting the type of program specified is then automatically tuned in.

Program Type (PTY)

Radio Text (RT)
RT displays onto screen a message of up to 64 characters that the station is currently transmitting.
Traffic Program Identification (TP)
When TP is active, it automatically tunes to a station which is about to broadcast traffic information.
Traffic Announcement Identification (TA)
A "TA" indication is displayed if the station being received also provides traffic information.

Clock Time (CT)

CT lets you display the current time or make easy clock adjustments between daylight savings and standard time.

RDS Signal Monaural Signal (L+R)
High Sensitivity, High S/N Ratio, Low Distortion
40-Station Random Preset Memory
Up to 40 FM or AM stations can be stored in random order in a memory that is partitioned into five groups - A, B, C, D and E.
Auto Preset Memory (FM only)
A maximum of 40 FM stations can be received by the tuner and automatically stored into the preset memory when you do not know the frequencies of local stations.

Character Input

The Character Input feature lets you enter up to 8 characters for each preset station for easier station identification during tuning.

Large FL Display

The large fluorescent display clearly shows the reception frequency and the preset channel number as well as other information.

Before using
Pay attention to the following before using this unit: Moving the unit. To prevent short-circuits or damaged wires in the connection cables, always unplug the power supply cord and disconnect the connection cables between all other audio components when moving the unit. Cautions on using mobile phones. Using a mobile phone near this unit may result in noise. If so, move the mobile phone away from this unit when it is in use. Before turning the power operation button on. Check once again that all connections are correct and that there are not problems with the connection cables. Always set the power operation button to the standby position before connecting and disconnecting connection cables.
Getting Started Getting Started
About the remote control unit
Store the operating instructions in a safe place. After reading the operating instructions, store them in a safe place as they could come in handy in the future. Whenever the power operation button is in the STANDBY state, the unit is still connected to AC line voltage. Please be sure to turn off the power operation button or unplug the cord when you leave home for, say, a vacation. Note that the illustrations in these instructions may differ from the actual unit for explanation purposes. In addition to controlling the DRA-397, the attached system remote control unit (RC-1052) can also be used to control the following products: q DENON component products w Component products other than DENON: Set using the preset memory function ( page 20).

Inserting the batteries

q Remove the remote control units rear cover.

Cautions on installation

Note: For heat dispersal, do not install this unit in a confined space such as a bookcase or similar enclosure.
Notes on batteries: Replace the batteries with new ones if the set does not operate even when the remote control unit is operated nearby the unit. (The attached batteries are only for verifying operation.) When inserting the batteries, be sure to do so in the proper direction, following the < and > marks in the battery compartment. To prevent damage or leakage of battery fluid: Do not use a new battery together with an old one. Do not use two different types of batteries. Do not short-circuit, disassemble, heat or dispose of batteries in flames. If the battery fluid should leak, carefully wipe the fluid off the inside of the battery compartment and insert new batteries. Remove the batteries from the remote if it will not be in use for long periods. When replacing the batteries, have the new batteries ready and insert them as quickly as possible.

Speaker impedance

Speaker A, B A+B Impedance 4 ~ 16 /ohms 8 ~ 16 /ohms
Analog connections (Stereo)

(White) (Red)

Note on speaker impedance
When using speakers with an impedance below the designated value (for example 4 /ohms), playing for long periods of time with the volume high could cause the temperature to rise, activating the protection circuit. When the protection circuit is activated, the output to the speakers is cut off and the power indicator blinks. If this happens, unplug the power cord, wait for the set to cool off and improve ventilation around the unit. Also check the wiring of the input cables and the speaker cables. After doing this, plug the power cord back in and turn the units power back on. If the protection circuit is activated again even though there are no problems with the wiring or the ventilation around the unit, switch off the power and contact a DENON service center.
