| The image quality may not be superb, but as a starter camera it is sufficient. I purchased two of these cameras. One HSM for my niece and a Princess Enchanted one for my daughter. I have to agree with all the disappointed reviews. I got the one with CARS faceplate and thought that would interest my son to take picture. | |

Installing the Batteries
The camera is powered by 3 AA batteries. Only use the battery specified by the manufacturer. You will need an adult to help you install the battery. 1. Do not mix old and new batteries. 2. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. 3. Only use the battery specified by the manufacturer.
To install the camera batteries:
1. Lift the rubber USB interface cover on the bottom of the camera and gently press the lever to the left. 2. Lift the faceplate off completely and place it to the side of the camera. 3. Insert the batteries using the battery polarity symbols (+/-) as a guide. 4. Replace the faceplate by gently placing it back on the camera body. 5. Replace the rubber USB cable connection cover on the bottom of the camera. 6. Turn the camera on by pressing the Power button. To turn the camera off, press the Power button again. Note: If the camera is not used for one minute, it will automatically shut down. To restart the camera, press the Power button. 2

Camera Lens
Flash Power Button - press the Power button to turn the camera on and off. Snapshot Button - Use the Snapshot button to take digital images. LED Status - Flashes to let you know when you have successfully taken a picture. Camera Lens - Make sure to keep the camera lens clean and clear when capturing images. Be sure not to black the lens with your finger! Flash - Use the Flash in low light situations or to highlight the subject of your photo. 3

USB Connection (under cover) USB Interface Cover Display Screen - Use the Display Screen to preview the image you are going to take, review images you have taken, and to view your camera settings. USB Connection - Connects the camera to your computer. Use the USB cable when you are ready to download your images. USB Interface Cover - Covers the USB connection and the lever that allows you to remove the faceplate and change the batteries. 4

Flash/Up Button - Scrolls through the different flash options in Preview Mode. Delete/Down Button - Press to delete one or several images from the camera in Playback Mode.
Your cameras Display Screen provides information about your camera settings. View the diagram below to understand the symbols on the Display Screen. The USB Connection icon appears when your camera is connected to your computer by the USB cable.
The Memory Full icon shows when you have filled your cameras memory. Connect the camera to your computer to download your photos.
This icon shows that one photo is about to be deleted.
This icon shows that all the pictures are about to be deleted. Flash - Indicates whether the Flash is on, set on auto, or off. On = Off = Auto =
Counter - Shows the estimated amount of images you are still able to take.
Battery Status - Shows how much battery life the camera has left. When the low battery image appears, make sure to change your batteries immediately. The camera will automatically shut down when the batteries are low.

Camera Modes
Your camera has two modes, Preview and Playback. Preview mode - The camera will be in Preview Mode when it is turned on. Preview Mode is used to view your subject when taking pictures. Playback mode - This mode can be used to review or delete pictures in your cameras memory by using and to scroll through your pictures.
Camera Memory
Your new camera stores pictures on its on-board memory. The Pix Click camera comes with 64 MB (approximately 300 photos) of on-board memory.
Taking pictures with your camera
Taking pictures with your digital camera is a fun way to share memories with your friends and family!
To take pictures with the camera:
1. Turn the camera on by pressing the Power button and wait until the preview is on the Display Screen. 2. Use the Display Screen to locate the subject of your picture and hold the camera steady. 3. Press the Snapshot button located on the top of the camera to take the picture. The camera will beep and the LED will flash once. Note: The counter on the display will decrease by one each time you take a picture until the memory is full.
Using the Flash
It is best to use the camera flash in low-light situations or when you want to make the subject of your picture stand out. The camera has three flash settings. Flash On - When you turn the flash on, the cameras flash will illuminate your subject. Select Flash On when you are taking pictures indoors or in low light conditions. Flash Off - When you turn the flash off, the flash will not illuminate your subject. Select Flash Off when you are trying to conserve your batteries or in welllit situations - like the beach! Auto Flash - Use the Auto Flash setting when light conditions are changing. The camera will determine if it needs the flash or not.
To change the flash setting:
1. Turn the camera on by pressing the Power button. 2. Press the Flash/Up Button until the correct selection is displayed. 3. Now you are ready to take a picture! Note: When the flash is set to Flash On, it may take a few seconds between pictures for the flash to recharge.
Reviewing Pictures on the Camera
See your photos instantly by reviewing them on the Display Screen.
To review the pictures stored in the camera memory:
1. Turn the camera on by pressing the Power button. 2. Press the or to enter the Playback Mode.
3. Your camera will automatically return to Preview Mode after three seconds of inactivity if reviewing pictures.
Deleting Pictures from the Camera
If you take pictures you dont like, its easy to delete them and make room for more pictures! Your camera allows you to delete one picture at a time or all of them at once.
To delete one picture from the camera memory:
1. Turn the camera on by pressing the Power button. 2. Press the or to enter Playback Mode.
3. Scroll through using the arrows to find your picture. 4. Once you get to the image you want to delete, press 5. When you see on the screen, press OK to confirm.
To delete all the pictures on your camera:
1. Press the or to enter Playback Mode. for three seconds. on the screen, press OK to confirm.

Installing the Software
You must install the Disney Pix software to download images to your computer. Insert the Disney Pix software CD in your CD-ROM drive. If the installation doesnt automatically start, open My Computer and double-click the CD-ROM drive that contains the Disney Pix software. Double-click the install folder and run the Disney Pix 2.0.exe program. Follow the instruction on the screen.
Downloading Pictures
The Pix Downloader is a separate application that will be installed while you are installing Disney Pix. The Pix Downloader allows you to easily download your photos to your computer so you can edit them in Disney Pix.
To download pictures:
1. Make sure the Disney Pix software is installed on your computer. 2. Connect the camera to the PC using the supplied USB cable. 3. Launch the Downloader application by clicking on the Pix Downloader icon on the Desktop or by clicking on the Pix Downloader in the Start Menu. When the Pix Downloader launches, the default directory will be selected which is: My Documents\ My Pictures\ My Snapshots. 4. Click the Download button in the application window and wait for the pictures to download. 5. Close the Pix Downloader and launch the Disney Pix software. 12
Deleting Pictures from the Downloader
To delete pictures off the camera using the downloader interface:
1. Complete the download process following the steps in the previous section. After the pictures have been downloaded, a Delete button will appear. 2. Press the Delete button and all the images will be erased permanently off your camera.
Launching the Software
Make sure the software is installed on your computer. Launch the Disney Pix software by following these steps. 1. Double-click the Disney Pix icon on the desktop. or 1. From the Windows Taskbar, click on Start and select All Programs or Programs. 2. From the Disney Pix sub-menu, click on the Disney Pix program icon.
Sharing your Photos
You can do many things with your photos.
You can put your photos into a slide show by clicking the Presentation View icon in the upper right corner of the screen. You can print your edited photos in several different sizes by going to the File Menu and clicking on Print. You can also make your photos smaller so they can be emailed to your family and friends.
To save your photos for emailing:
1. Click on the Save As button in the File Menu. 2. Click on Shrink It. 3. Click on Change Location and choose where you would like to save your photo. 4. Click OK. 5. Type in a name for your file and click OK again. Now you have a smaller copy of your photo file, which can be conveniently attached to your emails!
