You can directly select the icon and press the OK button to access program or configuration. The icons located on the status bar include: roaming, available GPRS/UMTS services, battery status, missed calls, new messages, reception status, and GPRS/UMTS connection.

Install USIM/SIM Card and Battery
Please follow the below procedures to install the USIM/SIM card and battery:
When you short press the power button on the phone, it will open the Quick List. If you would like to shutdown the phone, please follow the below procedures. Startup: at the off status, press and hold Power button for two seconds and the phone will startup Shutdown: press and hold Power button until the close screen appears

Startup/Shutdown

The Dopod website provides periodic updates to the phone and customer service information. Please register you phone to obtain the website Member only services.You can follow the below procedures to register your phone: 1. Open the Internet browser and connect to the Dopod website: http://www.dopodasia.com 2. Click the Members page from the home page. 3. Select the Sign up as Member link on the left side of the screen. Then click on I Agree at the bottom of the page. 4. Select I have already purchased the product. Then press the OK button. 5. Enter the Hardware S/N (please refer to the S/N on back of the phone), purchaser name, and date of birth. Then press the OK button.

When you are not using the phone, please lock the keypad to avoid inadvertent pressing of the buttons causing unnecessary confusion.

You must install the Dopod 838 Pro included getting started CD Microsoft ActiveSync 4.1 and Microsoft Office Outlook to perform personal information and file sync operation. Please follow the below procedures to install ActiveSync: 1. Insert the included CD into the CD-ROM 2. Please follow the onscreen directions to install: Microsoft ActiveSync Microsoft Office Outlook 3. After installation is complete, please connect the USB cable to the phone and computer 4. Please follow the ActiveSync configuration wizard to create the sync connection
