DORO BUSH KOCH DISCUSSES HER FATHER AT THE NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER
Presented in conjunction with the 2006 Liberty Medal Philadelphia, PA (September 28, 2006) In an exciting companion program to the awarding of the Liberty Medal to former presidents George H.W. Bush and William J. Clinton, Doro Bush Koch, daughter of George H.W. Bush and sister of George W. Bush, will discuss the new memoir she has written about her fathers life in A Liberty Medal Event: Doro Bush Koch on George H.W. Bush on Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required and can be made by calling 215.409.6700.
For over half a century, President George H.W. Bush has played a part in American and world history. He served in Congress, headed the CIA, served as U.S. Liaison to China during Chairman Maos rule, chaired the Republican National Committee during Watergate, and was Vice President during the administration of Ronald Reagan before becoming President in 1989. Doro Bush Koch will discuss details about her fathers illustrious life and presidency. Having conducted hundreds of interviews with family members, world figures, and former American presidents, Koch has written a memoir of an American president and a chronicle of a rapidly changing nation.

Presidents George H.W. Bush and William J. Clinton who joined forces, transcending partisan and political differences to do what's best for the country and the world through their Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund and Bush-Clinton Tsunami partnership will be presented with the 2006 Liberty Medal on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the National Constitution Center on Independence Mall in Independence National Historical Park, in what will be the first Liberty Medal award given under the Centers management.
The National Constitution Center, located at 525 Arch St. on Philadelphias Independence Mall, is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing public understanding of the U.S. Constitution and the ideas and values it represents. Opened on July 4, 2003, the Constitution Center is a museum, an education center, and a forum for debate on constitutional issues. The museum dramatically tells the story of the Constitution from Revolutionary times to the present through more than 100 interactive, multimedia exhibits, film, photographs, text, sculpture and artifacts, and features a powerful, award-winning theatrical performance, Freedom Rising. The Center also houses the Annenberg Center for Education and Outreach, which serves as the hub for national constitutional education and debates. Also, serving as a nonpartisan forum for constitutional discourse, the Center presents without endorsement programs that contain diverse viewpoints on a broad range of issues.
