kickstand safety switch interlock for 2000/2002 ducati supersport & sport

this evoluzione cyclesports neutral/kickstand safety switch interlock allows you to start and idle your bike with the kickstand down, as long as the transmission is in neutral. once the transmission is placed in gear (with the kickstand down) the engine will shut off. introduction this evoluzione cyclesports neutral/kickstand safety switch interlock is easy to install by carefully following the instructions. read all instructions first to familiarize yourself with the parts and procedures. installation caution: It is suggested that the bike be allowed to cool off for a few hours to avoid burns from hot exhaust and parts. step 1. on bikes with full fairings, remove both the left and right lower front fairings. step 2. on the left side of the bike, locate the wire harness exiting from the kickstand switch. follow the wires to the three terminal "weather-pack" connector. step 3. carefully disconnect the two connectors and insert the neutral/ kickstand safety switch interlock harness into the two ducati connectors. step 4. carefully route the black jacketed wire from the neutral/ kickstand safety switch interlock harness across the engine to the right side of the bike. step 5. on the right side of the bike, locate the single terminal "weather-pack" connector coming from the neutral switch. the neutral switch is screwed in the back of the case right below the breather separator (please see photo one). step 6. carefully disconnect the two connectors and insert the neutral/ kickstand safety switch interlock harness into the two ducati connectors. step 7. replace fairings if removed. while sitting on the bike, start it in neutral with the kickstand up. try putting the kickstand down - the bike should remain running. with the kickstand down, pull in the clutch and try putting the bike in gear - make sure the engine shuts off.
