The DYNACORD D 12-3 ultra-compact lightweight full-range cabinet
Weighing in at a mere 19 kg, the new D 12-3 is a 3-way polypropylene speaker system remarkable for its intelligibility and precise midrange reproduction as well as its broad coverage angle. The high-powered, full-range system is therefore ideal for professional mobile sound reinforcement applications. With a wide range of mounting accessories and an elegant and restrained appearance, the D 12-3 is also suitable for fixed installation in awkward locations Straubing, January 2006. To cover the low frequency range, the D 12-3 is equipped with an Electro-Voice DL 12BFH driver. The critical midrange is covered by a low distortion 6" Dynacord DND 6120 neodymium driver with an unusually wide angle of dispersion: 120. The constant directivity HF horn, with its 90 x 50 coverage pattern, is optimally integrated into the baffle using CAD technology and equipped with a DH-3 driver from Electro-Voice. With power handling of 350W RMS, 700W program and 1400W peak, 131dB maximum SPL and a frequency range of 70Hz 18kHz, the D 12-3 makes an outstanding high-powered fullrange speaker as well as a Mid/High component in professional systems whether active or passive. All the loudspeaker components are reliably protected by the fully-electronic Voice Coil Tracking Protection with halogen protection against thermal overload. To maximize the dynamic range, extremely powerful power amplifiers up to 1400W @ 8 ohms can be used without any thermal overload of the voice coil resulting. Wherever an overload would occur, the power is throttled back 'gently' to safe values. EVI Audio Hausmesse 2006: A New Dimension
The 20th EVI Audio Hausmesse ran from the 27th to the 29th January 2006, attended by around 700 visitors from just under 60 countries. It was a fair with a new dimension Straubing, January 2006 The EVI Audio Hausmesse, the firm's in-house trade fair, has long been assured of a place in the calendar of the global pro audio sector a status consolidated by the 20th edition of the fair, which ran from the 27th to the 29th January 2006 and to which the team led by Mathias von Heydekampf and Managing Director Lutz Berneke were pleased to welcome around 700 industry insiders from almost 60 countries. This year, the company's business and media partners enjoyed a Hausmesse with a few organisational novelties, including the relocation of all product demonstrations to the modern and acoustically outstanding Theater am Hagen in Straubing a sound decision to judge by the feedback from dealers and representatives of the media to the demonstrations by Martin Traut (DYNACORD) and Christian Glck (Electro-Voice). The highlight of the demos was the presentation of DYNACORD's brand-new high-powered amplifier range, the Power-H Series with striking support from the internationally established percussion group 'Industrial Drums', known inter alia for its performances at the dedication of Munich's Allianz Arena as well as the Champions' League final. Another addition to the timetable that was received highly favourably by the thirty or so journalists that had made the trip to Straubing was the press conference conducted by Mathias von Heydekampf, also in the Theater am Hagen. In the course of a lively and entertaining PowerPoint presentation, the president of the Pro Audio group outlined the company's philosophy and with it the secrets of its success, with numerous world-class references (Live8, World Cup venues etc.) substantiating Telex / EVI Audio's claim to leadership in the pro audio industry. Night of the Kings The social highlight of the EVI Audio Hausmesse 2006 was the traditional Saturday night party at Pullman City, the European capital of country music, though the theme this year was 'Rock 'n' Roll'. Each guest was given either a quiff or a 50s style blonde wig and it wasn't long before the dancefloor was filled with Elvis doubles and biker chicks rocking to the sounds of LJay's Elvis Show and Lucille's Lumbago led by the entire senior management in glittering jumpsuits, out-Elvising the King in his best Vegas years. That Telex / EVI Audio had grounds for celebration was clear from Mathias von Heydekampf's welcome speech, in which he drew attention to the double-digit increase in the company's turnover last year as well as its installations in the majority of the venues for this year's FIFA World Cup statistics that should leave no one in any doubt as to who the King is in the pro audio sector.
