The SUPRAPLAST fine sand filter range:
The MTH fine sand filters with the trade name SUPRAPLAST embody state-of-the-art filter technology and demonstrate our many years of know-how in sand filter construction. And this is all to your advantage, because the SUPRAPLAST fine sand filters by MTH are devices with a long service life, low procurement price and very low maintenance costs. One of the main reasons for this is the filter tank in the SUPRAPLAST series. It is made using the SMC method (hot pressing of prepreg resin mats) from glass-fibre reinforced polyester (GRP). This method guarantees filter tanks of uniform quality, great strength, temperature resistance from -40C to +120C and an identically smooth surface on the inside and outside. Simple filter tanks made of injected thermoplasts or even blown PE tanks are just not comparable in terms of quality when it comes to strength, service life, temperature resistance and UV resistance. This first-rate tank and the top quality backwashing system with individually replaceable nozzle arms are indispensable for good backwashing results. Tanks with a diameter of 600 mm have computer calculated nozzle arms which are responsible for uniformly intensive backwashing across the whole surface almost the same as the nozzle base prescribed for public systems.
Impressive design and perfect technology
The filter tank made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic, with an identically smooth surface on the inside and outside, offers great strength and temperature resistance up to 120C. Robust fins warrant the great strength of the divided tank. Top quality plastic is used to make all parts of the filter and prevents any corrosion. Easy for servicing: The upper half of the filter tank can be taken off to replace the sand, without having to disconnect the pipes. Proven, reliable 6-way plastic valve with pressure gauge and sight glass makes the filter so convenient and ensures it is easy to use. Self-priming, quiet circulation pump with overload protection for single phase pump and integrated pre-filter. Manual air release, an extra feature in addition to automatic air release valve. Automatic backwashing system available on request for all filters. And last but not least, functional design that is impressive to look at.

O Filtering speed

The filtering speed in m/h indicates the quality of physical filtration in a sand filter. The greater the filtering speed, the poorer the filtering results. In a private swimming pool, the filtering speed should not exceed 50 m/h. The DIN standard, for example, states that in public swimming pools, the filtering speed must not exceed 30 m/h.

O Why additional special carbon?
Special carbon is even capable of removing part of the dissolved impurities which can normally no longer be separated out by other mechanical filtration processes. Odorants are mainly separated out by absorption, and the chloramines which are mainly responsible for the chlorine smell are absorbed, while naturally preserving the chlorine level.
