ELNA Accessories and Feet When you purchased your Elna sewing machine you took the rst step towards creating items with your personal touch and style. Many standard accessories and feet were included with your machine, but your unique creations may require something more. This brochure presents a brief description and photograph (foot for your model may not match photograph) of the numerous accessories and feet offered by Elna. Contact your authorized Elna retailer or service center to purchase the specific accessory for your machine or to ask for the most recent additions to our accessory line. Explore the Art! Please note: All feet are not available for all machines. Refer to coding symbols.
1. APPLIQU FOOT Appliqu is a wonderful way to add your unique interpretation of design to fashions. Beautiful appliqu results are possible because this transparent, hinged foot is ideal for sewing around small or large appliqu pieces.
3. BLIND HEM FOOT, ADJUSTABLE Want an invisible hemline ? No matter the fabric weight, the adjustable guide on this foot helps ensure that the needle catches only one or two fibers of the hem. Adjust the guide for precision topstitching, edgestitching or pintucking.
2. BIAS BINDER FOOT An easy way to add bias tape trim to finish an edge ; a great construction method for reversible garments. Or create frog closures, button loops, ties. The spiral cone on this foot wraps the bias tape (pre-folded or not) around the fabric edge.
4. BRAIDING FOOT For unique dimensional effects, the adjustable opening on the front allows you to apply soutache, cord, ribbon, etc. Simply couch the trim onto fabric with a straight, zigzag or decorative stitch.
5. BUTTON SEWING FOOT Think of the fun possibilities beyond using buttons just as closures. No matter the button shape, sew buttons on in one quick and easy step. Dont worry about your buttons falling off because a thread shank can be created at the same time the button is securely attached.
8. ELASTIC GATHERERS Acts like a third hand! The elastic gatherer evenly stretches the elastic as it is sewn to the fabric; wonderful for cuffs, lingerie, garters, etc. Available in 3 sizes - 7mm, 10mm or 13mm (1/4,3/8 or 1/2).
6. BUTTONHOLE FOOT, SLIDING (4 STEP BUTTONHOLE) Eliminate buttonhole markings ; use the markings to make a properly sized buttonhole - plain or corded. The grips on the underside of the foot help feed your fabric for a beautiful result.
9. EMBROIDERY/DARNING FOOT This foot is designed for automated embroidery, free motion embroidery, stippling, darning and monogramming. Skipped stitches are no longer a concern; as the needle moves up and down, so does the spring-loaded foot.
7. CIRCULAR SEWING DEVICE The Sewers Compass for producing perfect curves or circles for doilies or large scallops. Simply attach the device to your sewing machine to make a pivot point. Fantastic with either utility or decorative stitches.
10. FAGOTING PLATES - Exclusive - (Narrow and Wide) Incorporate the elegance of vintage clothing by bridging two fabric or lace edges together. The fagoting plate keeps the edges separated at an equal distance, an essential factor for this technique.
11. FRINGE/LOOPING FOOT Both functional as well as decorative. Create tailor tacks, fringe, hair, chenille effects, fagoting (bridging), etc. The metal extension raises the thread off the fabric surface for a dynamic texture treatment.
14. MULTI-CORD FOOT Design your own braids and trims. Simply place cord(s) in the foot and sew over them for a simple couching method. Or sew over one cord with a zigzag stitch to gather heavier weight fabrics.
12. GATHERING FOOT Tired of hand-pulling basting threads for gathering ? Instead, use the gathering foot for light and medium weight fabrics. Make ruffles and flounces effortlessly.
15. OPEN TOE/EMBROIDERY FOOT Ideal for precision embroidery, appliqu, cutwork and monogramming. Nothing stands in the way of your creative vision. The cutout on the underside of the foot accommodates satin stitching and the open front ensures greater visibility while sewing.
13. HEMMER FOOT Looking for an easy, professional way to sew a delicate hem ? The spiral on this foot guides the fabric edge to create a rolled hem. Recommended for fine, sheer fabrics used in bridal wear.
16. OVERLOCK FOOT Fabric edges ravel ? Finish the edge with a zigzag stitch - a time honored method. This foot helps regulate the thread tension allowing the stitch to lie flatter. Use with medium weight fabrics.
17. PEARL/BEAD FOOT (2 mm, 4 mm) Attach strand pearls/beads in a straight or curved line anywhere on the fabric. Take the foot to the next level by inserting piping tightly into the seam or couching trims/braids.
20. QUARTER INCH FOOT Accuracy is the key to successful patchwork sewing. Sewn from center needle position, the guide on the foot provides a perfect 1/4 seam. An insiders tip - why not use the guide for topstitching?
18. PINTUCK FOOT (NARROW OR WIDE) Twin needle pintucks are a lovely focal point in modern and heirloom fashions. It is essential that the pintucks are perfect, evenly spaced, parallel rows. This foot guarantees that result. *Cord Guides sew corded pintucks. Variation use colored cord under a sheer fabric. * * * *
21. QUILT GUIDE The quilt guide is the answer to sewing evenly spaced, parallel rows of stitching (channel quilting). Combine it with the walking (even feed) foot for an unbeatable duo.
19. PIPING FOOT Piping is a great accent for tailored detailing on garments and home dec items in contrast colors, stripes, etc. The deep grooves in the foot guide the piping so it is inserted tightly into the seamline.
22. RIBBON/SEQUIN FOOT Spice up your designs with ribbons and sequins by effortlessly couching them onto fabric with a simple zigzag or a more intricate stitch. The front opening in the foot has an adjustable guide that ensures the ribbon or sequins lie flat.
23. ROLLER FOOT Challenging fabrics like leather, suede, synthetics and napped/piled fabrics are fabulous in todays fashions. The textured rollers on this foot give you more control and cause less friction between the foot and feed dogs.
26. SATIN STITCH FOOT A must-have foot for anyone who desires to sew with satin or decorative stitches. The cutout on the underside of the clear foot is designed to accommodate dense stitch formation and prevents stitches from bunching.
24. RUFFLER Fashion and home items featuring gathering and pleats have never been easier. Instead of spending hours measuring, folding and pinning pleats, use the ruffler.
27. SEAM GUIDE/CLOTH GUIDE Be assured that your seams are always consistent. Attach the seam guide to the machine to achieve perfect seam allowances. This is especially useful when sewing wide hems.
25. RUG-MAKING FORK Make beautiful, customized trims and fringe directly on your project. Wrap ribbons, braids, yarns around the fork and stitch to secure them.
28. SPECIAL BOBBIN CASE Bind an edge or outline a shape with reverse embroidery, where the right side of the fabric is placed face down and sewn using heavy, decorative threads. Stunning! The tension on this bobbin case has been adjusted for this technique.
29. STRAIGHT STITCH FOOT Have you experienced puckering and skipped stitches on lightweight fabrics ? The flat underside and small needle entry hole on this foot are designed for straight stitch sewing on these fabrics.
32. ZIPPER FOOT, INVISIBLE Refined lines never hint at whats hidden. An invisible zipper is designed to be discreet, becoming part of the seam. The grooves on the underside of the foot allow the stitching to lie very close to the zipper coil the secret to success.
30. TEFLON FOOT The no-stick Teflon coating is the key to sewing temperamental fabrics like vinyl and synthetic leather, etc. The foot just glides across the surface. This makes it ideal for directional feeding, too.
33. ZIPPER FOOT, NARROW A dual purpose zipper foot ! Attach the foot only once and adjust needle or foot position to prevent the foot from riding on top of the zipper coil. Or use this foot to sew close to large welt piping featured in home fashions.
31. WALKING (EVEN FEED) FOOT Great for keeping quilt layers from shifting when sewing and keeping stripes and checks matched. Fabrics lie between an upper and lower feed dog, preventing them from slipping.
34. ZIPPER FOOT, TWO SIDED No matter the zipper application - lapped, centered or exposed, this foot will not ride on top of the zipper coil. Its so versatile because you can attach the foot either to the left or right side of the needle.

1. BELT LOOP FOOT Wow! You can easily duplicate the belt loops found in the garment industry using a Wide or Triple Cover Hem. This foot automatically folds under bias strip edges for belt loops, decorative accents, button loops, narrow straps, etc. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
3. BIAS BINDER FOOT, ADJUSTABLE Cover Hem or Chainstitch? Narrow or wide trim? Purchased or custom made bias tape? These are decisions for you, the designer, to make. Since this foot is so adaptable, why not finish seam edges with bias tape just like designers create. Beautiful fashions inside and out.
2. BIAS BINDER ATTACHMENT Fold and apply bias tape with the Chainstitch a spectacular edge finish for blankets, placemats and jackets. These are traditional applications, but why not create a lacing effect, button loops or fringe? * Must use attachment holder set.
4. BLIND HEM FOOT Need an invisible hemline? The adjustable guide on this foot ensures that any weight of fabric is trimmed, overlocked and hemmed in one quick step. Change the stitch and it becomes a wonderful guide for decorative pintucks, lacy fagoting or flatlocking as seen in ready to wear.
5. CHAINSTITCH FOOT, CLEAR Surface design with the Chainstitch or Cover Hem is sensational. This transparent foot allows full visibility. Want more? Attach the fagoting guide, lacing guide or felling guide. (See entries 5a, 5b and 5c.)
5c. FELLING GUIDE For strength and durability, a flat fell seam is the answer. Discover the advantages of how to create this seam with a Cover Hem where only the upper fabric is folded (reducing seam thickness).
5a. FAGOTING GUIDE Fagoting is a lovely lacy effect created with the Cover Hem Wide. The guide keeps the fabrics separated at an equal distance while sewing. Alluring lingerie, pocket details and adding a length of fabric for growth are just a few ideas for applications.
6. CLOTH GUIDE, DELUXE Meandering seams will become extinct. This oversized guide ensures uniform distance for seam allowances and permits even cutting width when making bias tape. Measurements are shown in metric and inches. * Must use attachment holder set.
5b. LACING GUIDE Throw away those pins. Accurate alignment of lace or trim to the fabric edge is assured with this guide. Sew lace or trim evenly on top of fabric with a Cover Hem.
7. CORD GUIDE Exciting concepts abound. Some ideas sew corded pintucks (Cover Hem Narrow), stabilize stretchy fabrics (Safety 4 Thread) or create decorative braids (3 Thread). The fun never stops. Must be used with Pintuck Foot or Taping Foot.
8. COVER HEM FOOT Trims, laces, hemming, and bias edging are this foots specialty. The adjustable extension accommodates all Cover Hem variations. Depending on technique, one of the following guides must be attached. (See entries 8a, 8b, and 8c.)
8c. WRAPPED EDGE GUIDE Save time and purchase pre-folded bias tape, or make your own custom bias tape. The guide holds the upper and lower bias tape edges apart for insertion of fabric. Use a Cover Hem or Chainstitch to secure binding. Must use with Cover Hem Foot with this guide.

11. GATHERING FOOT Looking for a shortcut for gathering? This foot creates a ruffle in light to medium weight fabrics, trims the edges, sews the ruffle to a flat fabric and overlocks in one operation.
13. PEARL FOOT AND NEEDLE PLATE Beaded trims make a statement on scarves, hems, lapels, etc. This foot provides perfect placement when flatlocking strand pearls/beads (4mm or smaller). May use with: Pearl Needle Plate - the narrow stitch finger neatly turns under the fabric edge as pearls are attached, only for
12. MULTIPURPOSE FOOT You now can create custom made soutache or wired edge ribbon by feeding fine cording or wire through the guide hole. Another purpose? Attach an elastic gatherer (see entry 12a) to the adjustable support on front of foot - the most efficient way to sew elastic directly to your fabric.
14. PINTUCK FOOT Pintucks using an overlock? Yes, now you can sew those beautiful pintucks often featured in antique fashions. Set up your machine for Cover Hem Narrow and add either the pintuck or cord guide. (See entries 14a and 14b.)
12a. ELASTIC GATHERER (7, 10 OR 13 MM) Hands-off! Let the elastic gatherer do all the work. It evenly stretches elastic as it is sewn to the fabric with an overlock or Cover Hem stitch. Nothing could be easier or more accurate. Must use with Multipurpose Foot.

15. PIPING FOOT Piping often accents designer fashions. The groove on the foot securely holds cording close to the needle for making or inserting piping. May use with tape guide attachment (See entry 17) to wrap bias strip around cord before seam is sewn.
18. TAPING FOOT A very versatile foot! Quickly and accurately sew 1 cm (3/8) ribbon or tape to fabric with the Cover Hem Wide. Use with cord guide (see entry 7) and decorative thread to create braid trims or insert tape into seams to stabilize stretch fabrics. (Note: Cover Hem option only available on the 700 and 900 series sergers)
16. QUILT GUIDE Drawing design lines for channel stitching is no longer necessary. Insert the quilt guide and sew evenly spaced parallel lines with the Chainstitch or a Cover Hem.
19. TOPSTITCH COVERED SEAM FOOT Designer detail - topstitch a flat fell seam. This transparent foot with shallow cutout accommodates the fabric seam while sewing. Must use with: Topstitch Seam Guide fabric seam is placed into shallow cutout for guiding.

23. PRO Cards Searching for more creative techniques? The exclusive Elna PRO Card system is designed to expand the program selection on the 900 series of Overlocks (Sergers).
21. AUXILIARY THREAD GUIDE Prefer using industrial cone thread? Place unusually large thread cones on surface behind machine and attach the guide to the antenna for smooth thread feeding.
24. WASTE TRAY Scraps always on the table or floor? Why not use the waste tray? When fabric is trimmed, the tray automatically catches the remnants.
