The Iowa Child Advocacy Board (ICAB) is seeking male and female volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for abused and neglected children in Winneshiek County. It is the CASA volunteers responsibility to be a voice for a child by gathering information about the case, attending court hearings, reporting their observations and recommendations to the Juvenile Judge and then monitoring the case while it is under Juvenile court Jurisdiction. Volunteers must pass background cheeks. Mandatory training is provided. Will offer Mass at 5 p.m. that day in the chapel at Spillville. 2. Todays readings speak to us of making wise choices with the guidance of Jesus (WWJD?). 3. I have already shared with you that we have a leak in the bell tower floor and that repair is needed. The repair is planned for this week and it will be costly as access to the area is difficult. Continuing donations for church repair will be appreciated. Note that the leak is not at all connected with the new roofing. We are faced with moisture that blew in through the tower louvers and ponded in the middle of the floor due to a sag in the floor. We will have a sloped floor to drain the water out in future. The area of concern is that of the southwest stairwell. Ben (did the church roof) will take care of this job.
