| Excellent to keep you safe! Within one week of getting his First Alert Radio I was warned of impending bad weather. The settings are great. Stopped working after a year It was fantastic - while it worked. I particularly appreciated being able to choose which alerts I wanted to receive. | |

FA148CP
SIX-ZONE CONTROL PANEL
How it works. The FA148CP is the communication center of your security system the brains. All the sensors from around your home are connected to the FA148CP. When your system is armed and a sensor detects a problem, it sends a signal to the control panel that then sends a signal to the central station. To alert anyone inside the home, it can also sound a siren. Protecting vulnerable locations. Sensors are usually placed at entry points to your home such as doors and windows, which are most vulnerable to intrusion. These include magnetic contacts and glassbreak sensors. Inside the home, Passive Infrared Detectors sense motion through body heat. Smoke and fire detectors are also protecting your home and theyre working even when the system isnt armed. Home or away, your system can react to fire emergencies at any time. Keypads. At the heart of your security system is the keypad the piece of equipment that puts control right at your fingertips. In Standard, Deluxe, Alphanumeric or Graphic models, these keypads offer simple operation combined with the latest, most advanced technology. Want more control?
With the FA148CP, your home and family will be protected from the threat of intrusion and fire. And you will have the peace of mind youve been looking for.
First Alert Professional offers the finest security, fire and personal emergency protection for your home by incorporating advanced technology with simple operation. Your First Alert Professional authorized dealer will work with you to create a security system that meets your needs. Youll receive expert installation and exceptional service from their highly trained technicians.
There are many options available that give you even greater control of your security system. You can choose to add an option which lets you use any touchtone phone as a keypad, so even if youre not at home, you can operate your system. There is also a selection of portable, wireless remotes that allow you to control your system with just the press of a button. Arm or disarm your system, or even operate lights without having to remember a code! Imagine that!
CONVENIENT, VERSATILE, SIMPLE
The FA148CP from First Alert Professional puts high-tech enhanced security to work in your home and convenient options right at your fingertips. Advanced technology is at work, protecting your home 24 hours a day! In the event of fire or intrusion, the central station is contacted via the telephone line or other means. Its important that the line is always operating properly, so the system continually checks it for proper voltage. If the phone line is out of service, an alert will be sounded and visually displayed on the keypad. CONTROL With this system, youve got it! The FA148CP can be set up so that if you want to operate the garage door, unlock entryways, or control lights and appliances, you can do so through your keypad or choose from a variety of wireless remote devices. ZONES By assigning certain devices or areas of the home to specific zones, the system can better pinpoint the exact location where an unauthorized entry occurs or where a fire may be starting. The system comes standard with 6 supervised zones that support a wide variety of alarm devices. Up to 26 expansion zones can be added depending upon the number of devices needed to properly secure your home. Expansion zones may be used for either hardwired or wireless devices, which is particularly helpful if you choose to take advantage of the convenience of our advanced 5800 series of wireless accessories. These zoning features allow for maximum flexibility and expansion of the system. If you decide to enlarge your home, you have a system that can grow with you, simply and easily. ACCESS The FA148CP can be programmed for up to 32 user codes. Codes can be assigned to different family members, and you can have a babysitter code programmed as well as a duress code. When used to arm or disarm the system, the duress code sends a silent message to the central station. This is important should you ever come face to face with an intruder who forces you to disarm the system. By entering the duress code, you have silently summoned for help while keeping your master code private. PANIC The FA148CP has three programmable panic keys that can be used at the keypad or with wireless devices. They can be programmed for 24 hour silent, audible, personal or fire emergencies. One touch of a panic key and help is on the way. POWER The FA148CP comes with a battery back-up which meets standard UL requirements. In the event of a power outage, this allows for uninterrupted system operation, keeping your home and family secure. In the event of a power failure the power indicator on the keypad will be off, indicating that the system is operating on battery power. CONVENIENCE With this system, youve got it! The FA148CP can be set up so that if you want to operate the garage door, unlock entryways, or control lights or appliances, you can do so through your keypad or choose from a variety of wireless remote devices. With wireless remotes, arm your system with just the press of a button. Or, arming your system can be as easy as 1, 2! "Quick Arm" allows you to just press the "#" key and "arm" rather than your code and thats it your system is armed! Its a simple and quick way to leave your home and still arm your system. The FA148CP has a paging feature available which will send signals to your pager to alert you about certain system conditions. The pager would display a code number that corresponds to a specific system condition, alerting you immediately if, for example, your home was experiencing a break in. The paging feature is especially helpful if you have latch-key children. The system can be programmed so that when youre at work, the pager will notify you when your son or daughter arrives home from school because they have been assigned their own user codes. The FA148CP can also page you if your child has not arrived home by a pre-programmed time. PREVENT FALSE ALARMSThe FA148CP has features that can help you prevent false alarms which are recommended by the Security Industry Association (SIA). After all, you want to avoid unnecessary visits from the police and fire departments. Consider these scenarios. Have you ever run out the door, forgot something, and had to rush back inside? With this system, you can re-enter your home within a pre-programmed amount of time and you dont have to worry about setting off the alarm. Or, youre getting ready to leave the house, youve set the alarm by pressing the "AWAY" button, but you havent left within the time allowed what happens? This system is so smart it knows you havent left yet, goes back into STAY mode, and avoids setting off a false alarm! The FA148CP from First Alert ProfessionalWeve thought of everything, so you dont have to.
