Purchased this to hook up to my Time Warner Cable Scientific Atlanta 8300HDC DVR and it did not work. Not as fast as other units that I have built but perfectly usable. Nice smaller size (compared to previous MyBooks). Attractive Design".

Storage of 200,000 photos. Web site items Easy To Setup,Easy to use,High Capacity No Power Switch It is a good one if you use it w/ only Windows. But if you want to use both MAC & Windows it gets kinda difficult.

This is a nice drive for the cash I spent. I find this unit is compact for my laptop backup. Dell has these WD products at a lower price than WD even on sale.

This thing is a piece of work. I had this for only a little over a year. Incredible difficult to configure. The MioNet web interface is terrible.

Bought this drive to replace smaller drive in new Toshiba laptop. It is quick, quiet and no problems. I was so impressed. So far it works fine, however I noticed that it is not as quiet as the other disk I had before

Good choice to have for a laptop, upgraded an old Hitachi Deskstar for this drive, and great difference in speed. Working perfectly with Mac OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard). Working perfectly with Mac OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard). After 10 months.

D-160 Owners Manual Supplement (V2.10)
The functions explained here are additions to the main manual because of our version-up (V2.10) of the D-160 software. Please read this manual together with the main manual before operating the D-160.
1. Large capacity hard disks can now be used.
It is now possible to use E-IDE hard disks with a recording capacity up to approximately 30GB (FS=44.1kHz) as the D-160s recording media (current drive/backup drive). Please refer to List of hard disks checked for operation to make sure any product you are about to use will operate correctly. <NOTE>: When formatting a large capacity hard disk, the time required to format will be in
relation to disk size. As a general estimate, it requires about 15 minutes to format 1GB and thus, as an example, it will take about 7 hours for a 30GB hard disk.
<List of hard disks checked for operation>
Maker Model Fireball CX Quantum Fireball CR 4.3GB, 6.4GB, 8.4GB, 13.0GB Disk Capacity 6.4GB, 10.2GB, 13.0GB, 20.4GB
2. In the BAR/BEAT/CLK (bar/beat/clock) time base, the offset figure of the BAR that indicates the head of the disk can now be edited.
Although [Time Base] is explained in [Before Operating] the main D-160 owners manual, the unit to indicate the present traveling position, MTC (MIDI time code) or BAR/BEAT/ CLK (bar/beat/clock) is now also employed in addition to ABS (absolute time). Because of this, the figure indicating the present disk position will be different depending on the selected time base. When the D-160 is in the initial setup state and the MTC offset display at [MTC 00h 59m 57s 00f] for the disk in the head position (ABS 00m 00s 00f) or, at BAR/BEAT/CLK, it will display [-002bar 1 beat 00clk]. Before version-up V2.10, this offset figure could be changed only for MTC, and the BAR/ BEAT/CLK offset figure was fixed to [-002bar 1beat 00clk]. But, with V2.10, the BAR offset figure in BAR/BEAT/CLK can now be changed to any figure within the -002 ~ -009 range. In the initial setup state of the D-160, [-002bar 1beat 00clk] will always be displayed and the bar offset figure will be [-002bar]. To setup the offset figure of this BAR/BEAT/CLK display, execute it in the SETUP mode of the D-160, the same as the setup of the MTC offset figure. Please read the reverse side operating procedures. For setup of the MTC offset, refer to the explanations in the SETUP mode of the main owners manual.
Setup procedures for BAR/BEAT/CLK offset
<NOTE>: Offset setups can be executed for each program. The setup content will be maintained even though power is switched off.
1. First select the program to which offset is to be setup.
The example below is the display as a result of selecting program 1.
4. Rotate the JOG dial counter-clockwise.
The offset figure of the current set bar will be displayed. If it is in the initial state, [-002bar Offset?] will be displayed as shown below.

44.1kHz

SIGNATURE 44.1kHz
2. After switching to the SETUP display by pressing the DISP SEL key, press the EXECUTE/YES key.
If the DISP SEL key is pressed twice against the above ABS display, it will change to the SETUP display and if the EXECUTE/YES key is pressed, it will change to the [Drive Sel ? (current drive setup)] menu as shown below when in the initial setup state.
5. Press the EXECUTE/YES key.
The number [2] in -002bar will blink and the bar offset figure can now be edited.

EXECUTE / YES

DISP SEL
6. Rotate the JOG dial to input the desired offset figure, then press the EXECUTE/YES key.
Any offset figure within a 2~9 range can be input (the example below is the result of inputting of 5 for the bar figure). After this, press the EXECUTE/YES key and it will be set to the input offset figure and the display will change to the [Signature Set?] menu.
3. Rotate the JOG dial to show [Signature Set?] in the display and press the EXECUTE/YES key.
The current set bar will be displayed and if it is in the initial setup state, the first bar will be 4/4.
7. Exit from the SETUP mode by pressing the EXIT/NO key.
