Convection Cooking and Baking (some models)
The convection option, available on some models, isan additional feature tothe regular oven cooking methods of baking/roasting. Instructions for using the convection option are included in the instructions for setting the oven controls. Convection cooking is a method of cooking in which the heated air of the oven is circulated by a fan at the rear of the oven cavity. This fan is covered by a baffle to circulate the air uniformly, providing even heat distribution for faster and more even cooking, baking and browning. The heated air penetrates food from every angle, sealing in natural moisture and flavors. The convection fan automatically turns off when the oven door isopened and resumeswhen the door isclosed again. However, the convection heating element will stay on. The oven can be programmed to bake in the convection mode at any temperature from 170F/77C to 550F/288C. Preheating the oven for 10-12 minutes is recommended when using convection, but isnot necessarywhen roasting or cooking casseroles. Due to better heat distribution inside the oven, lower temperatures can be used when using the convection mode. This temperature adjustment is automatically made by the electronic oven control. When using the convection mode, this actual oven temperature will be 25F/12C lower than the displayed temperature. This allows you to use your existing recipes without having to manually adjust the tem peratu re downward. Air circulation during convection cooking.
Remember to usetested recipeswith timesadjusted for convection baking/roasting when using the convection feature.Times may be reduced by as much as 30% when using the convection feature.
