Looking at this camera now which is not at all new or upto date, it could neraly be compared with the real old cameras. Would expect. I purchased a 2GB Fujifilm XD chip through Ciao, good price, and the camera is easy to download to the computer.

GREAT CAMERA..to me it bets a lot out there right now. Well all i can say about this camera is not only is it easy, smart, and long lasting. This is a great camera for taking pictures of kids. Other cameras take so long to focus and flash your kids are in college.

There are dozens of glowing Fuji FinePix F10 reviews on the Internet and a minority of reviews that sound a lot like mine. I got this camera as a pocket/travel camera as my regular Canon 20d is too big to carry all the time.

Looks new to me. Works great with a 1 gig fuji H memory card Nothing yet Read the reviews my friends. This is simply of of the best point and shoots out there.

Rather dissapointed. It could be really awesome camera, but it has problems with quality of the photos (see below). And it is extremely loud. The output of this camera is phenomenal. It really competes with my other two tools - the Nikon D100 and D50.

I remember a year or so ago wanting to get a better camera. I had the Fuji A205, which was pretty good, but not great. The A205 was 2 MP.

Fujifilm FinePix F10 gets DIWA Gold Award for outstanding performance
With the FinePix F10, Fujifilm has elevated mini-compact digicams to a new level. With the low-noise, high sensitivity Super CCD HR, the camera is exceptionally versatile for any subject and lighting condition, adding boost to flash photography. Also, the F10 is extraordinary fast and features one of the best auto focus systems available.
Amsterdam, 29. July, 2005 DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organisation of collaborating websites within digital imaging, today announces a DIWA Gold Award to the palm-sized 6.3 Megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F10 digital camera. Built on extensive know-how from camera design and manufacture, undisputed expertise from analogue and digital photographic technologies and Fujifilms successful development of the unique Super CCD image sensors, the FinePix F10 has all these fine achievements onboard. The F10 has a solid and robust metal body, small, yet user friendly, with a sensible selection of automatic functions and manual overrides. Implemented is the 5. generation of Fujifilms renowned Super CCD image sensors, in a 1/1.7 HR version with no less than 6.3 million pixels and sensitivities equivalent to ISO 80 to ISO 1600, all with remarkably low image noise. This also provides 6.5 m flash range and extremely fast and sensitive auto focussing, assisted by a powerful AF lamp. Accompanied by a 2.5 (6.4 cm) LCD screen, intuitive controls and a newly designed menu system, the F10 is also very user friendly. Kai Thon, DIWA's test manager comments: "Most digital cameras struggle under poor lighting conditions, due to failing auto focus, weak flash and/or insufficient shutter capabilities. The FinePix F10 is the exception that confirms this rule. Thanks to extensive update of the Super CCD HR image sensor and related functions, the F10 fearlessly challenges most shooting conditions and delivers outstanding results, superseding far more advanced camera models. The DIWA group of experts unanimously ranked the FinePix F10 to be one of the best mini-compacts ever." Targeted for casual family photographers, the F10 has a sharp 3x Fujinon zoom lens with 2 cm macro, six scene selections and fully automatic controls. Yet, it also offers numerous advanced features, such as continuous shooting with 2.2 fps, high quality VGA movies with 30 fps, voice narration to still images, continuous auto focus, grid display for composition ease, instant full brightness LCD screen, three metering modes, manual white balance control, shutter speeds to 15 seconds, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed and much more. A newly developed universal connection adapter functions as a docking station and the camera comes with a power adapter included. Despite its compact design, the F10 has surprisingly good ergonomic design for secure and comfortable handling and shooting, delivering brilliant image quality with lifelike colour rendition, stable and precise exposure, as well as the best lowlight performance in its class, all qualifying for a DIWA Gold Award.

DIWA Platinum Awards 2005 to Fujifilm FinePix F10
The 12 member websites of the DIWA Awards organisation have reevaluated all DIWA Gold Award winners from 2005 and selected the best of the best. Fujifilm FinePix F10 won the title of Best Digital Amateur Camera in 2005.
Amsterdam, 13. February, 2006: DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organisation of collaborating websites, today has the pleasure of announcing the winners of the annual DIWA Platinum Award for 2005. DIWA members from Europe and America continuously test and review digital imaging products for their readers. For digital cameras, more than 200 details must be checked, tested and evaluated. Then, each review is carefully monitored and compared by DIWA to ensure error-free, reliable and comprehensive test results. Top ranked products will receive DIWA Awards in the value of gold, silver or bronze, based on summarized average scores. At the end of each year, one of the gold winners from each of the three digital camera categories is selected by the members as the best of the best, honoured by a DIWA Platinum Award. For 2005, the DIWA group of experts has decided the following digital cameras to be worthy winners of these awards: Fujifilm FinePix F10 : Platinum Award 2005 for Best Digital Amateur Camera The F10 receives the DIWA Platinum Award for 2005 as the best gold winning camera in its category of Digital Compact Cameras. DIWA camera testing experts have concluded that Fujifilm must have paid extra attention to public demands and wishes when designing the F10. Not only is it a beautifully designed camera in a robust metal casing, it is also comfortably small with a 3x zoom lens and a huge 2.5 LCD screen with instant full brightness control. Unlike most mini-compacts, it also features a comfortable, elevated grip for improved security feeling, as well as several other user-friendly and useful features. The core technology responsible for the F10s success is the 6.3 Megapixel Super CCD image sensor delivering low-noise images even at high sensitivity, a perfect combination for sharp, blur-free images in dark surroundings and extended range for the built-in flash. All in all, great value for money.

Technical specifications

Full description

The FinePix F10 Zoom is characterized by incredibly clean images, due to its refined Super CCD sensor and 'Real Photo Processor'. These two components are the outcome of thousands of hours of research by Fujifilm's imaging technicians, and reflect the company's desire to set, rather than chase, image quality benchmarks. The newly designed 6.3 megapixel Super CCD sensor features Fujifilm's trademark octagonal photodiodes, which act as more efficient light receptors than traditional CCD structures. The new Real Photo Processor provides an unprecedented sensitivity range from ISO 80 to ISO 1600, all achievable at full resolution. This means that immaculately pure images are captured, even in low light situations, such as social events, whilst minimizing camera shake and subject movement. Furthermore, the Real Photo Processor enables users to photograph without flash, thereby ensuring more natural-looking results, and extending the already considerable battery life. The camera's ability is further underlined by some impressive speed statistics. Improving on the quickfire FinePix F810 Zoom, the F10 Zoom doubles the screen refresh rate to an amazing 60 frames per second, whilst still having time to achieve continual autofocus. And with a shutter time lag of just 0.01 seconds, 1.1 seconds between frames for consecutive shots and just 1.3 seconds needed for start-up, this is a camera with truly rapid reactions. The FinePix F10 Zoom accommodates a generous 2.5-inch high definition LCD monitor, which features an automatic brightness adjustment function, allowing users to amend the brightness of the monitor for enhanced visibility in low light. This feature can also be adjusted manually, while a quick view window allows the user to check three previous shots on the LCD screen in addition to the live image.
