| My E900 was purchased to fulfil a particular need. I own or have owned 9 digital cameras and my main camera is the excellent Panasonic FZ50. I bought the E900 as a companion to my S9500 which I have had for over 2 years: same CCD and same menu system. | |

| My E900 was purchased to fulfil a particular need. I own or have owned 9 digital cameras and my main camera is the excellent Panasonic FZ50. The camera is great...full manual controls, great high ISO ability, RAW, and if you buy it now, its very cheap. However. | |

Charge the AA-size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (2) (included).
Batteries that can be charged
h AA-size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (included)
Alkaline batteries
! Always use the Battery Charger BC-NH02 bundled with the camera to charge Ni-MH batteries. Attempting to charge
batteries other than those specified for use with the charger (such as manganese, alkaline or lithium batteries) can cause the batteries to burst or leak. This could result in a fire or injury and consequent damage to the surroundings.
1 Plug the Ni-MH batteries into negative poles of the Battery Charger BC-NH02 (included). 2Fit the batteries to positive poles of the battery charger. Check that the Ni-MH batteries are loaded into the Battery Charger BC-NH02 securely.
Ni-MH batteries are not fully charged when purchased and must be fully charged before being used. ! When first used after purchasing or when left unused for a long period, charge and discharge the batteries using the cameras Discharging rechargeable batteries function and then recharge them (P.18). ! If the terminals of batteries are soiled, it may not be possible to charge them. Clean the battery terminals and battery charger terminals with a clean and dry cloth.
How to use the batteries
h Never use the following types of batteries, as they could cause serious Outer casing problems such as battery fluid leakage or overheating: 1. Batteries with split or peeling outer casings 2. Combinations of different types of batteries or new and used batteries together h Do not use manganese or Ni-Cd batteries. h Soil, such as fingermarks on the poles of the batteries can shorten time for which the batteries can be used. h Use the battery charger (included) to charge AA-size Ni-MH batteries. h See P.119-120 for other notes on using batteries. h When first purchased or if left unused for a long period, the amount of time which AA-size Ni-MH batteries can be used may be short. See P.120 for more information.
Plug the battery charger into a power outlet to begin charging. Charging ends after about 5 hours and the charging lamp turns off. Unplug the battery charger from the power outlet when it is not in use.
! The ! If
shape of the plug and socket-outlet depends on the country of use. Ni-MH batteries are charged repeatedly before they are fully discharged, the battery level warning will appear while there is still ample charge remaining in the batteries. At that time, discharge and recharge them several times using the cameras Discharging rechargeable batteries function (P.18).
Check that the camera is turned off (LCD monitor or viewfinder lamp is off) before opening the battery cover. 1 Hold down the Battery cover lock release button. 2 Open the battery cover.
The table below shows the standard number of frames for a new xD-Picture Card formatted on the camera. The larger the xD-Picture Card capacity, the bigger the difference between the actual number of frames and the number shown here. Also, the size of an image file varies depending on the subject. So the number of remaining shots may decrease by 2 or may remain the same. For this reason, the number displayed may not show the actual number of frames. Full description
Advances in digital photography have impacted every level of user, from first time digital owners, to families with multiple photographers, to consumers who are simply interested in expanding their photography skills. Answering the growing needs of every level of user, Fujifilm offers the FinePix E900 digital camera. Packing a powerful nine MegaPixel 5th Generation Super CCD HR sensor - the highest resolution available in a consumer digital camera - the FinePix E900 joins Fujifilm's already popular E-series line of cameras and continues the tradition of point-and-shoot ease and photographic essentials such as image quality, form factor and powerful feature sets including manual controls, found in all E-series models. The E900 offers Fujifilm's innovative Real Photo Technology, which provides many benefits for the user, including faster operation, low noise processing, better low light shooting, and higher shutter speeds that minimize blurriness in photos at even the highest ISO setting of 800 with full resolution. In addition, fully automatic features on the E900 provide point-and-shoot simplicity, while manual and customizable feature settings provide additional control, particularly when combined with the power of optional lenses. In addition to a convenient, ergonomic travel-friendly design, the FinePix E900 offers a large 2-inch LCD screen, which makes it easy to take and share pictures. A mode dial provides easy access to advanced shooting modes and a 4x optical zoom, which can be enhanced with optional lens adapters, allows user to tailor each shot to their needs. Other versatile shooting functions include a live histogram display for exposure settings and a highlight warning function.
