Play instead of revision. And Pokémon Colosseum is the one which I have spent the most time on recently...and I have become addicted. Pokémon Colosseum is the latest addition to the Pokémon Stadium series, that is until the summer when the new one will be released.

SNAGGING AND PURIFYING
There are Pokmon who have been changed by an evil organization, and their hearts are shut. One of the main objectives of this game is to rescue these "Shadow Pokmon" by Snagging them.
PURIFY AND PURIFY COMPLETED
When a Shadow Pokmon is Snagged, it is still a Shadow Pokmon. To open the closed door to its heart little by little is called "Purifying," and once the heart is fully opened, the "Purification" is complete. TO PURIFY A POKMON Put it in your party and walk around with it. Make it battle. "CALL" the Pokmon during a battle when it is in HYPER MODE and make it "come to." Leave it in the Day Care. Use the "SCENT" items in the "COLOGNE CASE." By repeating the above methods the Pokmon will begin to become Purified. The Purifying process differs based on each Pokmon's nature. TO COMPLETE PURIFYING As the Purifying process progresses and the "Heart Gauge" becomes completely white, you will need to go to the "RELIC STONE" in Agate Village. It seems as if there are other ways to purify Pokmon instantly.!?

WHAT IS SNAGGING?

Usually, you can't catch opponent's Pokmon. However, only you can Snag a Pokmon during battle. Once the battle has started, identify the Shadow Pokmon and throw a Pok Ball to Snag it. To make Snagging easier, weaken the Pokmon by attacking it until its HP is low. It will also be easier to catch the Pokmon if you put it to Sleep, Poison it, and so on. If you were unable to Snag a Shadow Pokmon during a battle, don't worry, the Shadow Pokmon can be encountered again during your adventures.
DISTINGUISHING SHADOW POKMON
You (the hero) can't tell whether a Pokmon is a Shadow Pokmon or not. However, during your adventure, you'll meet a partner who has a special ability to distinguish Shadow Pokmon from normal Pokmon.

SHADOW POKMON

Shadow Pokmon are being used for wrongful acts because an evil organization has found a way to shut the door to their hearts. There are a few characteristics that differ from normal Pokmon to Snagged Shadow Pokmon. SUMMARY OF SHADOW POKMON Heart Gauge Shows the progress of Purifying. Heart Condition As the Purifying progresses, the condition of the heart changes. Nature When Purifying has progressed to a certain stage, you can find out the Pokmon's nature.

SHADOW POKMON MOVES

At first, Shadow Pokmon can only use a move called "SHADOW RUSH." This move will not only damage opponents, but the attacking Pokmon as well. When Purifying has progressed, the Pokmon will be able to learn other moves. Also, when Purifying has been completed, "SHADOW RUSH" will be forgotten.
EXP. POINTS OF SHADOW POKMON
Shadow Pokmon that have just been Snagged can't gain any EXP. Points. Once a Shadow Pokmon's Purification has progressed to a certain stage, then that Shadow Pokmon can earn EXP. Points. When the Shadow Pokmon is Purified completely, all of the EXP. Points that it earned previously will be gained all at once.

THINGS SHADOW POKMON CAN'T DO
The following things can't be done until a Shadow Pokmon's Purification is complete. Use an item that would make the Pokmon evolve or level up. Change the order of the Pokmon's moves. Delete the Pokmon's moves. Change the Pokmon's nickname. Exchange the Pokmon with Pokmon Ruby or Sapphire (see page 23). Participate in Battle Mode (see page 24). Enter in battles at PHENAC STADIUM.
Move Names When Purifying has progressed, moves other than "SHADOW RUSH" will be revealed and can be used.
SHADOW POKMON'S HYPER MODE
When "SHADOW RUSH" is selected during a Shadow Pokmon's battle, the Shadow Pokmon may go into "HYPER MODE," which cloaks its body with a red aura. HYPER MODE will continue even after the battle is over. Also, the panel that indicates the Pokmon's name will change. SHADOW POKMON IN HYPER MODE. Have a higher critical-hit ratio when using "SHADOW RUSH" on their opponent. May not listen if a move other than "SHADOW RUSH" is selected. Can't use "items." The Shadow Pokmon will not be healed by using HP recovery and status abnormality items such as Potions and Antidotes. A Pokmon Center, Hotel, or Pokmon Recovery Machine can restore the HP and status abnormalities, but HYPER MODE can't be recovered. HOW TO RECOVER FROM HYPER MODE "CALL" during a battle. In Pokmon Diamond, you can choose from either a boy or girl. No matter which one you choose, there is no difference in the story. However, it is recommended that you choose a character with the same gender as yours. Pokmon Diamond uses the clock feature of the DS system. Please do not change the DS system you are using or change the time setting of your DS system. This will affect your adventure such as how Berries grow in the game.

OBJECT OF THE GAME

Set out for adventure in the Sinnoh region!
The Sinnoh region is filled with many strange and mysterious wonders. Your adventure will mature you as a trainer and have you cross paths with many people. Only with the help of friends and the cooperation of your Pokmon will you be able to complete this daring adventure.

Both types of battles will help you and your Pokmon become stronger. There are also Pokmon Gyms in the Sinnoh region, each of which has a very talented Trainer known as the Gym Leader. Only those who defeat the Gym Leaders will be accepted as true Trainers. It will be a tough fight, but you must be brave and charge into battle!

ABOUT BATTLES

There are two kinds of battles. One is when you fight against wild Pokmon, and the other is when you battle other Pokmon Trainers. When a battle starts, the Pokmon on the top left of your Party Pokmon will appear first. If you win the battle, each Pokmon that participated in the battle will receive a share of the Experience Points. However, if all your Pokmon faint, you will lose the battle, lose some of your money, and be returned to the last Pokmon Center you used.

When a Double Battle starts, the Pokmon on the top left and the Pokmon on the top right of your Party Pokmon will appear (see page 11). In addition to Moves that attack one Pokmon, there are also Moves that attack two Pokmon at the same time! Try things like throwing two different types of Pokmon into a battle so that your Pokmon avoid getting hit in their weak spot. Also, beat an opponent's Pokmon one by one with converging attacks.

Confuse Faint

If the Pokmon uses a Move during battle, there is a chance it may attack itself. The Pokmon will recover when it goes back to its Pok Ball. When its HP reaches 0, the Pokmon can no longer battle.
There are some other status problems such as Paralyze, Sleep, Frozen, Burn and so on.

CATCHING POKMON

You can catch wild Pokmon with Pok Balls (see page 26). While in battle, touch "BAG" or select it by using the Control Pad and pressing the A Button, then select POK BALLS. Select a Pok Ball you want to use and throw it at the Pokmon to try to catch it. After you have caught the Pokmon, you can give it a nickname.
If your Pokmon party is full with six Pokmon, the new Pokmon will transfer to Someone's PC.

RAISING POKMON

Experience Points
When you win a battle, Experience Points are given to Pokmon who fought in the battle. When the Experience Point gauge completely fills, a Pokmon's level goes up. When a Pokmon gains a level, their stats get higher, and they might learn a new Move.

Where to Find Pokmon

Pokmon inhabit caves and areas with tall grass. If your Pokmon's HP is low, and you don't want to fight, avoid walking in those areas. Certain Pokmon only appear in the morning or in the late evening. Water-type Pokmon may appear when you are crossing a lake or ocean by using the HM Surf. You can also use a Fishing Rod by the water, or while crossing water, to catch some Pokmon. Press the A Button when "!" appears. Tips for Catching Pokmon If you use a Pok Ball on a Pokmon that has taken very little damage, it will break free of the Ball. You must first weaken the Pokmon by attacking it until its HP is low. It will also be easier to catch the Pokmon if you put it to Sleep, Poison it, and so on.
Tips on Raising Pokmon Raising Low-Level Pokmon
Place the Pokmon you want to raise in the first slot of your Pokmon party. Immediately switch to another Pokmon as soon as you enter a battle. As long as you win the battle, even the Pokmon that didn't fight will receive a portion of the Experience Points. By repeating these steps, you can slowly but steadily increase the level of a weak Pokmon.

Pokmon Center (PC)

The people here will heal your injured Pokmon for free. You can also use the PC here. A Pokmon Center is the most useful place a Pokmon Trainer can visit!
Communication play can be done with your friends on 2F and B1F of a Pokmon Center (see page 36).

Pok Mart

Here, you can buy items that can help you on your adventure. Pok Marts in different towns sometimes sell different things. Also, the amount of Badges you have will affect what you can buy.

Dance Competition

In a Dance Competition, one Pokmon becomes the main dancer and the remaining three are backup dancers. When your Pokmon is the backup dancer, try to duplicate the dance steps laid down by the main dancer. As the main dancer, your Pokmon can dance as it pleases. You can earn higher points if your Pokmon has a dance step that cant be imitated well.

Super Contest

The Pokmon Super Contest is held someplace in the Sinnoh region. This contest allows Pokmon to compete using their charms. There are five competition categories to choose from: Cool, Beauty, Cute, Smart, and Tough. Your Pokmon will compete through 3 types of Contest; Visual, Dance, and Acting. You can even compete against friends using Wireless Communication (see page 44). Giving your Pokmon a Poffin can improve their condition (see page 28). Talk to a receptionist and select a rank. At first you can only compete in Normal Rank Contests. Once a Pokmon defeats a rank, it can challenge the next rank. You'll find the entrance for Contest practice on the right side of the room.

Acting Competition

Use Contest Moves to appeal to different judges. You must choose a Move, then choose a judge to appeal to. The Move you use and which judge you appeal to will affect Contest scoring. Try to use the right move at the right time for bonus points. Try not to have your Pokmon scored by the same judge as other Pokmon.

A Pokmon holding this Berry will use it during a battle to restore Oran Berry some HP. A Pokmon holding this Berry lessens a super effective Fire-type Occa Berry attack against it.

TMs & HMs

Both Technical and Hidden Machines allow your Pokmon to learn new Moves. Technical Machines (TM) can be used only once, but you can use Hidden Machines (HM) as often as you like. Different types of Pokmon will be able to learn different Moves.
About Berries On your journey in the Sinnoh region, you will find some places where fruit-bearing trees grow. A tree will disappear once you pick its Berries; however, it will grow back if you plant a Berry in the same spot! Technical specifications

Full description

Following the framework established by 2000's Pokémon Stadium and its 2001 sequel on Nintendo 64, Pokémon Colosseum lets players take their prized creatures from Pokémon: Ruby Version and Pokémon: Sapphire Version so they can fight in 3D on GameCube. Multiple arenas are available to select from, and players can enlist their Pokémon in multiple tournaments against computer-controlled teams or against friends. The new four-player feature found in both Game Boy Advance titles has also made the transition to Colosseum, with two teams of two battling each other on the same screen. To play the game with four players, each contestant must link his or her handheld to the GameCube via the GameCube -- Game Boy Advance Cable. With both Game Boy Advance games, players can import over 200 Pokémon to compete on GameCube. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
