New Command & Conquer Game Officially in Development at Victory Games
A new Command & Conquer game has been officially confirmed by Electronic Arts, the franchise owner, and is currently in development at the newly-formed Victory Games studio.

At the beginning of the week, a new Command & Conquer website was leaked before its official release, complete with details about an all-new strategy game in the series.
Now, the details have been made official, and fans of the franchise will be glad to hear that an all-new Command & Conquer title is in development at the new Victory Games studio.
The company is led by Jon Van Caneghem, the mind behind another successful strategy franchise, Heroes of Might and Magic, who oversees as general manager the studio's three locations, in Los Angeles (California), Austin (Texas) and Shanghai (China).
The teams are composed of franchise veterans, including developers from EA Los Angeles, who oversaw the last few games in the series, as well as new crews.
The main goal of Victory Games is the make a new "AAA Command & Conquer game."
"I can tell you it's a Command & Conquer game for the PC, but we're not yet at a stage where I can go into any details—we'll be prepared to make a more formal announcement later in the year. We're not just working on a game, though. Our general focus is on the future of Command & Conquer. That means updating a lot of the core technology to create a stable base for future development, and leveraging that work on this first game," said Van Caneghem about the project.
Even if it had a fantastic legacy, the Command & Conquer franchise has seen its popularity fade away in recent times.

gameplay of the series, but wasn't that successful.
As such the franchise was rumored to be moved from EA LA to Visceral Games, which was quickly denied by the two studios, both owned by Electronic Arts.
Now, it seems that the C&C series has a new start, so expect more details in the near future about the upcoming game.

Del Rey to Publish 'Command & Conquer' Based Novel
Usually it's games that get inspired from books. Will the opposite work just as good?

Electronic Arts and Del Rey are proud to announce Del Rey's publishing a novel based on the critically-acclaimed Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars PC game, hitting the US and Canada on May 29, 2007. Europe will see it released in the following months. "Command & Conquer remains one of the most popular and well-reviewed gaming franchises," said Del Rey editor Keith Clayton "and we're thrilled to have the opportunity to work on an original story set in EA's Tiberium Universe."Funny, isn't it?
