Rome: Total War (often abbreviated to RTW or Rome) is a critically acclaimed strategy game comprised of turn-based strategy and real-time tactics parts in which the player fights historical and fictitious battles within the Roman era. The game was developed by Creative Assembly and released on September 22, 2004. The game features large-scale battles of ancient armies with thousands of warriors. The main innovation is a brand new high-quality 3D graphics engine able to render over thirty thousand men on a single battlefield.
