A very good game you can download lots of mods on filefront for multiplayer and has great single player levels.

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a Star Wars first- and third-person action game released in September 2003. It was developed by Raven Software and published, distributed and marketed by LucasArts in North America and by Activision in the rest of the world.The game is powered by the same version of the Quake III: Team Arena engine used in its predecessor, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, containing Jedi Knight II's modifications to the Quake code to give a third-person view and new lightsaber effects. The player can modify the character's gender and appearance, and can construct a lightsaber by choosing the hilt style and blade color. Inanycase,therichnessoftheuniverse,ingeneral,allowsforgreaterimmersion.Seeingfamiliarsights suchasRodians,probedroids,Xwings,andfamiliarfaceslikeLukeSkywalkerandLandoCalrissionlet theplayergetarealsenseofbeingthere.Andminordetails,likeoverheardconversationsabout Thernbeesandlanvarocks(relativelyobscurereferencestoEU)givemorehardcorefansathrillingsense ofimmersion(Jenkins,ImmersiveStoryWorlds).Infact,thissenseofimmersionisoneofthemain reasonspeoplefindthisgamefun.Ithasanelementoffantasyfulfillment,placingtheplayerintheStar WarsuniverseandhavingthemalightsaberandForcepowerstoplaywith(Crawford).
MainCharacterKyleKatarn TheplayerplaysfromKatarnsperspectivebuthes notexactlyeasytotransforminto. KyleKatarnspastwasmostlyrevealedinprevious games.Beyondthefactthatheisasmuggler/com mando/soldierandisforcesensitive,hispasthas littleimpactontheplotofJediOutcast. Asapersonheiscynicalandtaciturn.Duringgame play,heonlyspeakstotelltheplayerinformation suchasitsoffline.Whileyouplayashim,its difficulttotransformintohimasacharacter. PlayingasKylefeelslikeplayingasamindless KyleKatarnassceneincinematicsfrom robotforalltheemotionheshows.Perhapsits JK2(left)andDarkForces2(right). becauseofhisbrushwiththedarksideinthe previousgame. MaybeIfindhimhardtoswallowasacharacterbecauseIamsuchanavidfanoftheStarWars ExpandedUniverse.ThereareflawsintheoverallplotandKylesmotivationsasacharacterincluding, aspointedoutbyThomasMacGuireinTechSpotsreviewofthegame,returningtobeingaJediisthat ofrevenge,notexactlyaJeditrait. GamePlay Inthegame,theplayerhasaccesstoseveralguns,eachwithtwomodesoffire,variousminesand grenades,aswellasalightsaberandasetofForcepowers.Thecontrolsystemforswitchingaroundall theseabilitiesmayseemabitclumsybut,aswithmanygames,youcancustomizecontrolstosuityou. LikemanyPCgames,JK2usesthemousetolookandtheWASDkeystomove.Whethertheplayerisin firstorthirdperson,wieldingablasterorthelightsaber,thismethodofcontrolisfamiliarandintuitive. Playerswillfightthroughswarmsofenemiesusingtheirweapons.TheycanusetheForcetothrow peoplearound,sweeptheroomwithlaserfire,hidebehindcratesandpickoffenemiesonebyoneor burstinflailingtheirsaberwildlytohackenemiestopieces. Havingallthesedifferentoptionstodealwiththesamescenariosmeansthatthesamescenekillallthe baddiesinthisroomcanberepeatedbecausetheplayerhasavarietyofwaystodealwithit. PerspectiveFirst/Thirdperson OnewaythatJK2waspraisedbyUGOintheirfeatureStarWars:AVideoGameSagawasthewaythe perspectiveseamlesslyswitchedbetweenfirstandthirdpersonperspectivestoallowforsometrue Jediswashbuckling. Theabilitytoplayinbothfirstandthirdpersonmakesabigimpactonthewaythegameisplayed. TobyGardsarticleoncharacterbuildingdividesgamesintotwobroadtypes:firstandthirdpersonand statesthatpsychologyofthetwoPOVsisdrasticallydifferent.AccordingtoGard,thefirstpersonis moreimmersiveandallowsforgreatertransformationastheplayerseesthroughthecharacterseyes andviewsitlesslikesomethinghappeningtothecharacterandmorelikesomethinghappeningto them.

Thisistrueoftheswitchbetweenfirstandthirdpersonwhenwieldingagunbutwhenwieldingasaber, thisislessthecase.Bydefault,whentheplayerswitchestothesaber,theperspectivewillswitchto thirdperson.Theyarenotlimitedtobeinginthisperspectivebutsabercombatisbetterhandledin thirdperson.Whenholdingagun,theweaponisheldstationary,butwhenwieldingthesaber,ithasa widerangeofmotion,allaroundtheplayer(I,Jedi)whichrequiresgreaterawarenessoftheentire body.Additionally,theplayerhasmoreacrobaticabilities(suchasrolling)thatcanonlybeperformedin thirdpersonholdingthelightsaber. WhileGardsclaimaboutthethirdpersonperspectivecreatingalesssenseoftransformativeisweaker inregardstoJK2,itsstillnotentirelyuntrue.Whileitseasiertoplayerfromthethirdpersonwhenin sabercombatorperformingvariousjumpingpuzzles,itdoescreateasenseofbeingremovedfromthe character.Becausetheplayerhastheoptiontotogglebackandforthbetweenthefirstandthirdperson perspectives,theycanhavethecontroloftheexternalcamerawhenneeded,andthetransformation allowedbythefirstpersoncamerawhendesired. Storyuptothispoint KyleandJanareinvestigatinganImperialoutpostthathasalinktotheValleyoftheJedi,asiteof intenseforceenergyvisitedinthepreviousgame(DarkForcesII:JediKnight).Theylearnthatthe ImperialRemnant,underthecommandofGalakFyarrhasteamedupwiththedarkJediDesannandhis sidekickTavion. Astheycontinuetheirinvestigation,JangetskilledbyTavionandKyledecidestoreconnectwiththe Forcewhichhehadbeenshyingawayfromsincehisbrushwiththedarksideinthepreviousgame. Afterregainingsomeofhispowers,hecontinuedtotrackDesannandtheRemnantsoperationsto BespinwhereKylelearnsfromTavionthatJanisaliveandaprisoneraboardGalaksship,the Doomgiver. KylefollowsthetrailtoCairnwherehemeetsmoreofthedarkJedibeingtrainedbyDesannandhooks upwithLukeSkywalker.KylesneaksaboardtheDoomgiverrightbeforetheshipdepartsinto hyperspace. Level7.1opensupwithLukespeakingtoKyleonthecommlink.HetellsKylethathemustfindawayto getamessagetoRogueSquadron. Level7.1TheDoomgiverscommunicationsarray Thisisagreatlevelbecauseitshowsavarietyofgameaspects,showcasesthekindsofpuzzlesand patternsoneencountersthroughoutthegame,andhowthegamecombinesthreedifferentplaystyles. Thebestwaytoseealltheseistogothroughthelevelstepbystep. CleartheroomsJK2asanFPS Firsttheplayermustclearsomeroomsfullofstormtroopers.Clearingroomsofbaddieslikethisshows howthegameissimilartomanyFPSs. gameplayissimplyclearingroomsfullofenemieswhichshootbackatyou.Theitemsarepickedupby collisionandconsistofhealth,shields,andammo.Onthewhole,JK2followsthesamegameplaygestalt asanyotherFPS(Lindley). CeilingTurretspatternrecognition Afterclearingthoseroomstheplayerwillcomefacetofacewillapairofthefamiliarceilingmounted gunturrets.Havingseenthesebefore,theplayerrecognizesthepattern,selectstheirpreferredmethod ofdealingwiththem,andcarriesitout. Pushingandpullingshowsavisibleauraaroundthetargetsso evenifyourtelekenticsarentsuccessful,youcanstillseethatyou tried.Thisisausefulfeedbackonapowerwhichwouldbe otherwiseinvisible.Essentially,theplayervisualizestheinvisible tendrilsoftheForcearoundtheirtargetastheyasserttheirwill.
SaberDuelEpicmoviefeel,controls,feedback Throughoutthegame,theplayerencountersfoesthatmust befacedsabertosaber.Theseduels,certainlyattempttoinvokethesensationofbeinginvolvedinan epicbattleofgoodversusevil,buttheyfallfarshortofit. Allthedoorsarelockedenvironmentagency,problemsolving Continuingonwardafterthedueltheplayerwillfindthemselvesinaroomthatappearstobeadead end.Alltheexitsarelocked.Howeverthisbarrierhasbeenmountedbeforeandtheplayerwill rememberthattheirenvironmentisa3done:sometimesonemustgoupinsteadofforward.Looking up,theplayerwillfindceilinggratesthatcanbesmashedopenandapassagewaywhichwillgetthem beyondthelockeddoors. Givingtheplayerasenseofagencyovertheirenvironmentbylettingthemsmashstuffupmakesthe environmentseemmorereal. InterrogationDroidsvisualeffects,moremoviereferences,andpanicking Upinthepassagetheplayerwillseeafamiliarface:interrogationdroids(ITO)seeninANewHope.In fact,morehardcorefansmayevenlookupthesedroidsinTheEssentialGuidetoDroids.Iftheplayer recognizesthem,theywillknowwhattoexpect,butsimplytouchingonewillletyouknowwhatisgoing tohappen: Theviewblursandbecomeswavyanddistorted.Thecharactertakesperiodiclossesoflifeandgruntsin paineachtimeasredsplashesappearonthesidesofthescreen.Therearealotofthesedroidsand theyareallswoopingdownattheplayerominously.Their threateningbeeps,theblurredvision,thegruntsofpain theseallinvokeasenseofanxietyborderingonpanicasthe playerfranticallyretreatsfromthedroidsandtriestoshoot themdown.Itshardnottobecomeemotionallyconnected withKatarnhere. Full description

Star Wars: Jedi Knight -- Jedi Academy continues many of the features introduced in 2002's Jedi Outcast with a storyline taking place after the events chronicled in its predecessor. Players begin the game in the prestigious Jedi Academy led by Luke Skywalker and Kyle Katarn. As Skywalker's apprentice, players must learn the ways of the Force and embark on an adventure spanning more than twice the locales featured in 2002's game. The biggest addition to the franchise is the ability to create a character by choosing its species, gender, hair, facial features, and clothing. Players can also customize their lightsaber by selecting its blade color and hilt type, with more lightsabers (such as the double-bladed version wielded by Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I) becoming available as players become more adept in their training.
