If you play a sport regularly or would like to step up your training, the Synkron 500 SD is made for you. With its accelerometer sensor which you attach to your shoe, this product will optimise your performances using speed data and information on the distances you cover in running or active walking activities. The design and comfort of this product have also been particularly developed to suit all body types and to make it suitable for use during sport.
Recommendations for use :
The watch is waterproof to 2 ATM. It can be used in wet conditions and in heavy rain. Do not press the buttons under water. This watch is not designed to measure your swimming activity. Handle the watch with care - do not drop it or subject it to strong impacts. Do not dismantle the watch. This would void the warranty and could cause damage and loss of waterproofing. Read the instructions carefully before use. Keep the instructions for the entire life of the watch. Protect your watch from extremes of temperature: in direct sunlight, the display may darken (caused by the heat). The display will return to its original colour when it has cooled down. Clean with a soft damp cloth. Do not use detergents, which risk damaging the watch equipment.
Batteries and recycling
The watch uses a 3V CR2032 battery. Please note: if you note that the display is flashing unusually or doesnt appear to be working correctly, this usually means that the watch battery is low and needs to be replaced We recommend that you take the watch to a DECATHLON specialist to have the battery replaced. If you change the battery yourself, you risk damaging the seal, thus impairing the waterproof design as well as voiding your warranty. Please check the availability of the battery with your dealer before travelling. The approximate battery life is one year, but this can vary depending on how long it was stored in the shop and the way in which the watch is used. The crossed-out bin symbol indicates that this product and the batteries it contains cannot be disposed of with household waste. They are subject to specific sorting. Take the batteries and your unusable electronic product to an authorised collection area for recycling. Recycling your electronic waste will protect the environment and your health.
Attaching the running speed sensor :
This watch is sold with a speed sensor which attaches to your laces :
1. 2. 3. 4.
Slide the holder under your laces. Clip the sensor firmly to the holder. Check that it is firmly attached before exercising. Point the sensor in the right direction.
The sensor lights up and flashes when you start exercising. It automatically transmits data to the watch. (In SPORT mode, SDM is also displayed for 1.5 seconds). Your speed is displayed when you start walking or running. Distance is linked to the activation of the stopwatch. When you start exercising, the watch connects automatically to the sensor. The sensor must be moving to tell the watch that exercise has begun. If no connection is established: you can connect the watch in the watch settings menu. The maximum range of the connection is 3m. Please note : Check that there are no other sensors inside the 3m range of your sensor. If no connection is established: exit SPORT mode and try again. See the coupling method (cf : watch settings chapter) if no connection is established, if you are in any doubt about the connection or if you have bought other accessories separately. You will then have to set them. The sensor is 97% reliable without calibration, which is good enough for the vast majority of users! However, if you want to improve accuracy, it is possible to calibrate it (see the adjustment method in the chapter on using the sport mode below). The sensor goes to standby after 30mins (if you do not move or if the sensor is over 3m from the watch) to extend battery life. The sensor is waterproof to splashes but not complete immersion. You should therefore not cross a stream, puddles or submerge your shoes with the sensor, etc.
